Hi everyone, we appreciate all your feedback on how we could evolve roles for customers using Xero. As you can see through the ideas on the platform, there are a wide range of combinations of permissions our customers want to see us build. As user roles impact all areas of the product, there are many considerations we must factor in when assessing how to solve for majority of our customers needs.
We’re beginning to conduct research on the current landscape and how we might approach some of the most predominant needs in roles for our customers. Front footing this, the discovery of this work will be long winded and there will be multiple phases of research and forms of engagement with users that’ll help shape the path ahead in this space.
We’d like to invite you, our community to be part of this research and discovery. This may involve interviews…An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Tracy Hunt commentedHello Xero Team,
If you are aiming at small businesses to make it easier for them working with third party accountants then why would you have users rights that combine business function with accounting???
So the junior who raises PO's in the business can reconcile and see ALL transactions of the bank accounts!!

Thanks for your feedback, Karen. 🙏
So others in the forum understanding what they're specifically adding their support for I've adjusted the title to reflect your first idea for filtering the Profit & Loss.
History of project activity is quite a different ask - we have an idea for recording history for all user activity that you may like to support and share in too. 🙂

Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting the ability to assign files to the project itself. While this isn't something we have planned right now we'll keep tracking the interest through the idea here.
To highlight, though not currently available on the Project directly, it's possible to attach files to the individual transactions within a project e.g a Bill, Invoice, Spend money or Expense. i
Along with this, you may also find it useful to create folders within your Files library where you can collect all files related to a specific project for ease of reference.
Understand this isn't the ideal solution, but may help some for now 🙂

Hi community, some time passed since our last update in the thread here we do want to return and share - while our product teams explored possibilities for how we might represent Purchase Orders in Projects research has confirmed that there is underlying work needed to the platform Purchase Orders are built on before we can achieve any good outcomes of your needs here.
We have enthusiasm and a close eye remaining on the support for this, but want to be honest that this is not something that we’ll be able to focus our attentions on in the near future.
Once we have completed work first needed in the Purchase Orders space we can reassess how to integrate purchase Orders into Projects and will update you all of steps forward, here.Tracy Hunt supported this idea · -

Appreciate the idea here - Being transparent, developing granular permissions or roles for every feature and action throughout Xero is not in our plans.
Understanding more of the permission sets majority of users need, will help understand where the biggest impact could be made.
I've slightly adjusted the title to suit the needs of the role you mentioned. We'll get a sense of others that'd like this too.

Just remove view of bank accounts should be first critical need.
How many companies have you worked for where you know what in the business bank accounts!
