Hi everyone, we appreciate you taking the time to share how important more flexible payroll permissions are for your teams.
It's clear that having granular control over who can access different parts of payroll would make a real difference to how you manage timesheets and leave approvals, as well as restrict access to other sensitive areas.
From research, Payroll is definitely an area we know needs more permission controls for varying roles. This is something our product teams are beginning to explore and do deeper research of. We'll keep you updated as we make progress, and we're grateful for your continued input.

Hi Tahnee, thanks for sharing this idea with us! To make sure I’ve understood correctly, are you looking for more granular payroll permissions? Specifically, it sounds like you’re after a "Limited Payroll Admin" role rather than providing full access to everyone. Could you take a look at this existing feature request? If that covers what you're looking for, feel free to add your vote to it. If not, let me know what’s missing.

We need more layers of payroll user rights please.
i.e. only admin can change settings or templates OR update any opening balances and or lock them. -

Hi everyone, thanks for the feedback. We recognise that a timesheet summary report would be a valuable addition to NZ Payroll.
This idea has been moved to our Accepted for future consideration.
While it isn’t currently on our roadmap, we’ll check back in here if that status changes.

Our clients want their team leaders to see information and manage leave just for their own teams. i.e. Don't want to give every team lead payroll admin re confidential information of other team leads/staff.

Hi everyone, thanks for voting and your detailed comments on this idea.
We understand the challenge of having to navigate away from the approval screen to find an employee's leave balance. Providing this information directly within the approval screen could streamline the process and reduce the risk of approving leave that results in a negative balance.
The good news is that our product team's reviewed this idea and recognise the value it would deliver. It's something they’d like to work on in the long term. It's not on the roadmap just yet but we'll update you when we're able to bring more focus to this idea.

Would be handy for the leave approvers in the company (which are non-payroll admin) to have access and check available employee leave balances before deciding to approve.
