Hi community 👋
Thanks for sharing and supporting this idea - while I don't have an update specific to this one, I thought you might be interested in the following:
Our AU Payroll team are testing some changes to Payroll reconciliation. The idea to have an automatic monthly payroll tax report is highly associated with payroll reconciliation and we feel that voters here would also have an interest in payroll reconciliation. They would love to hear from you!
They’re aiming to conduct some 1 on 1 interviews between 6 Feb - 16 Feb 2024, the interviews will last 45 minutes.
The purpose of the session: Participants will be asked to help with testing a prototype concept designed to enhance the AU payroll reconciliation process.
They aim to discover:
- Whether this conceptual solution meets your specific Payroll needs, and if it adds value to your Payroll reconciliation process?
- Whether this conceptual…

Hiya team, we had high hopes but unfortunately we've had to put plans for being able to copy & transfer the Capital Gains Tax(CGT) worksheet down for the intermediary.
We still intend to bring focus to this idea over the longer term but will shift this idea back to Submitted for now until we can begin active development. As soon as there's more word to share I'll be back with an update, here

It's been more than a year since the last comment from Xero's team. Are there any updates on this, dear Xero team?

Hey everyone 👋 Thanks so much for all the detailed feedback on applying work patterns for part-time employees. We’ve been following the conversation and understand that manually adjusting pay runs for pro-rata entitlements can be a real challenge. It’s clear that having this automated could save time and give you greater peace of mind.
I’m pleased to let you know our product team has reviewed this idea and we’re updating the status to ‘Accepted’. This means that while it’s not on our immediate roadmap, it’s something we see real value in and want to bring into Xero when we can prioritise the work.
In the meantime, the workarounds shared here, like manually adjusting hours in each pay run, remain the best approach. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, as your feedback plays a crucial role in shaping Xero. We’ll keep you updated on any developments…

Would love if there's a feature to search clients using their email address.
We too do have many Individual clients with same name, and it's getting harder to trace down the individual.
Recently moved from Lodgeit, and realise that Lodgeit is far far better than Xero tax at many fronts.Suman Devkota supported this idea ·

I always falsely believed that once "Start Date" is filled in, Xero (such an amazing software) calculates the pro-rated hours by default. Poor me!

Submission takes ages
I switched from lodgeit to Xero tax. While returns (BAS, ITR, CTR etc) were submitted in lodgeit, it would instantly reflect in the ATO portal. However, with Xero Tax, it takes ages to update ATO portal. This is definitely some flaws within the Xero eco-system. I know, Xero will flush this and direct towards the ATO, but Xero, you know the reality better.Suman Devkota supported this idea ·

This is ridiculous to me - Xero doesn't have any report that can be used to calculate payroll tax, let's forget about the payroll tax calculation itself.
I don't really understand how the software that's way behind on many of the (useful) reports come to be a leader in Australia.
