Enable DKIM to reduce sent emails from being flagged as Spam or put in Quarantine
We are seeing more emails that are sent from within Xero being flagged as Spam or put in Quarantine, especially if the recipient is using Outlook 365.
Xero need to implement DKIM to reduce the number of false positives like this. It's very easy to implement and the benefits to Xero users would be enormous.
71 votesThanks all for you feedback on comments on this thread. We want to confirm that that DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is currently active for all Xero sending mail addresses used by the Xero platform and are regularly reviewed and updated. Since Xero handles the sending of emails from our platform there is nothing to be done from your side and can be assured that their is no risk to deliverability of emails as a result of the changes. Since there is no visibility of this change in the Xero UI we suggest those who still want further confirmation to review the Global DNS Propagation Checker which confirms that DKIM is enabled for all our regions. The best option if you're still finding mail sent from Xero isn't getting to a recipient or is landing in their spam or junk folders is to ask the customer to whitelist @xero.com and @post.xero.com… -
New Invoicing - highlight issue date when tabbing across
Old invoicing you used to select your "to" contact, then tab across to the date where the date would be highlighted so you could start typing a new date straight away. New invoicing no longer selects the date & takes longer if you want to manually type a date rather than having to use the mouse.
1 voteHi Shannon, we made some changes toward end of 2024 to improve the entry and selection of dates in new invoicing. Having just done a test I can see that when you tab from the To field it'll move across to the Issue date field with the date highlighted and you can easily start typing the date you need just like you've mentioned.

New Invoicing - Due Dates drop down add Tomorrow
In the new invoicing, invoice date, drop down has tomorrow as an option, but in the drop down for due date this is not an option and have to go in to manually select the date which is time consuming this is something we use for most of our invoices.
3 votesHi team, returning to the idea here we're going to shift this to delivered with the existing ability to enter the keyboard shortcut 'T+1' that'll auto select Tomorrows date in the Due Date field.

New invoicing - Tab through date field
When you are entering in date ranges, you used to be able to press tab once and it would jump from the first date to the second date. Now it takes like 7-8 times. This is an inefficiency that seems to have only started a few days ago.
4 votesHi all, the team did make some changes to the tabbing of fields in new invoicing. You should find that when using Tab you only need to press this once to move from the Invoice Date to Due Date, then cross to Invoice #.
If you're not finding this behaviour, it'd be good if you could raise a case with our team of specialists so we can look into this further.

Manual Journal - Import with Tracking
Our client wants to export out of his customised software into xero. The developers have changed the software to fit the xero template but the tracking categories are not importing. I have spoken to a xero specialist and they believe it is not possible to have the tracking category automatically import. This would be a very useful feature for our client.
1 voteSorry it seems there may be some misunderstanding there. It is possible to import a manual journal with Tracking applied.
You'll need to make sure the Tracking Category and Options are spelt exactly as they are in the organisation into the CSV file in the appropriate column.
I've provided an example on this discussion for a customer that was importing invoices, and may help you with this.

New invoicing - More Address Lines when adding contact details
When sending an invoice to a new customer using the new invoicing you can only add one address line before the Town/City field. With the old invoicing you could add multiple address lines before the Town/City field (as you can also do with their Contact page and clicking edit).
With new invoicing this is difficult. Every time you need to add an address to a new invoice going to a new contact within the invoice screen then you only have one address line above the town/city field.
To add more address lines above the town/city field you need to amend…8 votesHi team, we’ve made and released some recent enhancements to the ‘Contact’ field and contact card within new invoicing.
Hearing your feedback here, we added more address lines to the contact card within new invoicing so you can add your full customer’s delivery or billing address on the fly. You’ll also see you can quickly look up and select addresses for your contact, as well as edit or add the Attention to without needing to go to the contact record. Thanks for your interest with us here.

Bulk reconcile bank transactions for accounts without bank feeds
We have deposit and cash accounts with no bank feed, I would like to be able to reconcile a whole month's transactions in one go rather than each individual line (mark as reconciled).
I know the balance at the end of the month is correct so I would like to be able to tick all transactions and 'mark as reconciled' in one hit.2 votesHi team, this is already possible. However in order to bulk mark as reconciled you'll need to enable this option.
When in a bank account in Xero, click the '?' icon at the top of the screen where you should see the option to turn on 'Enable Mark as Reconciled'. Its based on your user login so while this will turn it on for yourself, another user in the organisation will need to follow these actions to for themself.

New Invoicing - Add last items
New Invoicing - Add last items
The new invoicing interface currently being rolled out does not include this feature. This feature is fundamental to my use of Xero for invoicing.
1 voteHi Keith, if this option isn't appearing where you'd expect I'd recommend raising a case with our specialists through Xero Central so we can take a deeper look into things with you.
If you have previously entered an invoice for the same contact, you should see this option appear not long after adding the Contact. I've attached an example

AU Payroll - Timesheet report for leave
Would be great if we could run a report detailing which staff have taken leave (annual, personal) during the period to confirm it agrees to leave entered in Xero Me.
2 votesHi team, just returning to this idea, I've slightly amended the title and we'll move across to delivered.
As mentioned in my last update, you can use the Leave requests report which will show the start and end dates, as well as units and dollar amount. It's also possible to run the report for all, or just specific employees for the period. 🙂

Navigation - Remove extra step when changing organisation
For those of us that have multiple entities in Xero - Somewhere along the way an extra step (click) has been added when changing from one entity to another, you can no longer just choose your required entity from the drop-down menu (in the top left-hand corner), but now have to click on the drop-down menu and then click 'Change organisation' to show and select your entity.
Are we able to remove this unneccessary extra step (click) and have it back how it was originally?
3 votesSorry we've not rounded back to the idea here sooner, team. Testing this within our new navigation this is now working as requested here. From the organisation name you can drop down to select a recent organisation and simply click to navigate to it. If the organisation you need to hop into isn't on the immediate list you'll just want to do a quick search to look it up and click through. 🙂

UK Payroll - Edit approved leave requests
The leave process is not flexible enough. Once a request is approved, it can't be changed - only declined which is incorrect. Need to be able to amend/delete after approved. There should be the option to book as days not hours as our employees have day entitlement, this should also be able to be shown on payslip as days remaining. Why also is the leave balance report not being opened to UK
3 votesHi team, currently a user with payroll admin permission has the ability to edit approved employee leave requests, by going to the employees record, clicking into the leave tab, selecting the three dots where they'll see the option to edit.
In regards to setting leave to be based on days this isn't possible as the earnings are based on hours, and cannot be set to days.

Remove VAT line from Invoice email template
I want to hide the VAT line from below the subtotal on the 'Invoice email' template. I can hide it on the 'Invoice PDF' but not on the 'Invoice Email'. I'm not VAT registered so it currently says VAT 0%. But thus may look confusing to my customers. I would rather it was either hidden or removed.
3 votesHi Sam, sorry we've not updated you here sooner. This is possible through your email settings. If you open the Email template that you apply to invoices you'll find a check box for 'Include action to online invoice and detail summary'. You'll want to deselect this option to remove that detail from showing in your invoice emails. Just a note it does strip back a bit of the formatting of the email but will help you achieve what you're after here.

link invoices to contacts so can see them easily from contact view
If I want to see all invoices for a customer, I have to go to invoices and filter in various ways to get the results I want. This seems counterintuitive. I would expect to go to the customer under contacts and be able to see all information relevant to that customer including invoices.
2 votesHi Nicola, you can see all invoices for a customer from the Activity tab of their Contact record. There are options to either view all, or just Invoices or Bills. From the tab it's also possible to filter the invoices by Status or other options.

Bills to Pay - Feature to save Supplier Statements
Description:
I would like to suggest the incorporation of a new functionality in Xero that allows users to save supplier statements within the system. This feature should not post any transactions to the chart of accounts but instead, save the supplier's name, balance, and date as a memo associated with the statement. This information should be viewable within the supplier's profile.Implementation:
The saved statement details should be accessible in a dedicated section of the supplier's profile, providing a historical record of statement balances on specific dates. Furthermore, these statement details could be utilized in the Aged Payables report, either…11 votesHi team, as shared earlier - we made an update to Contacts a little earlier this year so you can now upload and save a Suppliers statement as a file directly to the contacts record in Xero.
It's also possible to add notes within the details when editing a contact which are visible on the right of the contacts record once saved.

file library to dashboard
I would find it helpful to be able to add 'file library' to my dashboard. I have to upload receipts for on account purchases through the month in preparation for the end of month statement and it would speed things up to be able to open file library from dashboard
1 voteHi Sandra, while there isn't a button directly on the dashboard you can easily navigate to the Files library from anywhere in Xero using the keyboard shortcut '/f'. 🙂

Profit and Loss report - exclude zero balances when comparing tracking categories
Hi Xero Support,
So basically, I would like to generate P&L by Tracking Category only for those categories which have activity during the month, those which have no activities (zero transaction), I would like to exclude it. So, my reports will be not too long and comprehensive.
QuickBooks has this function (--)v
Budi
1 voteHi Budi, perhaps related to how you've set the report up however this is already possible with the 'Compare tracking categories' selection. For example if you select 10 tracking options to compare in your Profit & Loss and there is no activity for 2 of your tracking options within the period these columns will be excluded when the report is run.

Bridging letter SOC2
We require a bridging letter to the SOC Type 2 report to cover the period 1 November 2023 to 30 June 2024 for audit purposes. When querying Support I was referred back to the generic link to download the above report. How do I obtain a bridging letter for the remaining period?
2 votesSorry we've not updated you here sooner, Alison. Since you initially started the idea here we've published an updated SOC2 report that supersedes the period you mentioned. If you need any further help with this, I'd recommend coming back into our Xero Support team they should be able to help you further. 😊

Contacts - Bulk edit contact defaults
Bulk Edit/Updates - for all or a selection of Customers or Suppliers in particular Sales Defaults such as Sales Account, Invoice Due Date, Discount, Branding Theme and Region and Purchase Defaults such as Purchase Account, Bill Due Date and Region
3 votesHi community, returning to the idea here it is possible to bulk update all these details for multiple contacts at a time through the export/import with CSV. You can read more on this in our help here.

Bills - Link to view historic bills from the same contact from the bill entry screen.
When entering a bill make an easy link to view historic bills which have been paid
1 voteHi Susanne, you can right-click on the supplier name, and select 'Open Link in New Tab'.
This will open the contact's Activity screen in a separate browser tab, showing their previous invoices/bills. 🙂

Sales Invoice - Ability to add Web link or QR code to Invoice or Receipt for Google review
It would be fantastic to have the ability to add a web link or QR code to a Googe review page or other external link (website, facebook etc).
When an invoice or receipt of payment is sent it would be great to follow this up asking for client to give feedback on service provided or to have them follow along on social media etc.2 votesThis is possible for sales invoices with the use of an advanced branding theme. You could download the docx template and insert an image (QR code) or statis text (a link) where you'd like within the template that customers could reference and use to review your business.
There is no template for receipts atm, but we have a slightly different idea for this that you may like to add your vote to.
