  1. When creating a new Invoice and you want to add some billable expenses that you have assigned to the contact in the Bills section, I want to be able to give my clients an itemized bill, the new invoicing option is defaulted to add all items as one line.
    We default to all invoices as itemized, Yes I can select this as an option but would like the ability to select the other as the default option.
    Maybe Xero could create a custom option cookie that would allow customers to select some default settings that make there Xero work better…

  4. The new invoicing doesn't work properly with Projects! A disaster for me this morning - trebled the time it takes to do my weekly Projects invoices. When it falls over because it can't find the GL Code to use, and doesn't even have subtotal and total fields....did someone forget about that when they were adding all the new empty space on the screen and screwing the work flow up?

    Hi Karen, this does sound like odd behaviour and would be good to get a closer look into. I see you've also come into our Xero Support team and they've suggested booking a time to connect and share screen so they can see the behaviour occurring for you. If you can respond to them through your My Cases they can investigate this with you 1-on-1. Thanks

  5. We signed up several years ago, and were really happy with the software as it was. Now we keep update after update, and price rise after price rise. Our cost has now doubled in 5 years. I know there's fancy "features" added to it now, but I don't need them. All I want is the version from a couple of years ago. Accounting, payroll for 5, Classic invoicing, old style reports, old style bills page, old style contacts, no cashflow analytics.

    Why not just make the older version available as a basic package for say £25 a month. No fancy…

  8. When you open the calendar to input a date (e.g., expense claims), the calendar box changes shape/moves around when you click the arrow to go back over previous months because the number of days in each month varies. The calendar shouldn't move around because you must keep repositioning the cursor to find the arrow again.

    As someone mentioned in another comment, allow the ability to use the mouse scroll to go back and forth.

  10. We need more flexibility in depreciation schedules to add Second Hand Capital Works Assets for rental properties.
    When you buy a second hand rental property, the capital allowances available under Div 43 needs to be calculated on the original cost, however, the total amount remaining to be claimed will be less than this original amount. Fixed Assets in Xero does not currently allow for this. We need to calculate the depreciation on a straight line basis based on the original cost, not what we paid for it and we need to be able to include an opening written down value,…

  12. Bill Payments - be able to create a make payment for a set amount which is a part payment of a supplier statement and send remittance for a part payment for multiple bills on a statement

    Client/business receives multiple bills from supplier, and pays 30 days after end of the month, they may want to pay installments of say $5,000 off the statement which will be applied against multiple bills including a part payment. At the moment there is no way to create this payment and send a remittance to the supplier, we have to wait until the payment appears…

  13. When I order Goods for inventory the cost of shipping is charged by the seller to me and itemised on the bill. From my perspective, this forms part of the cost of the products purchased on the same bill.

    The COST price ought include specifically the shipping on inwards inventory (averaged over all the items on a bill) to calculate the cost price when the items are entered on inventory items.

  14. Recipient-Created Tax Invoices (RCTI) are a normal thing in some industries. Xero is not set up to create them; instead we have to do a workaround with purchase orders.

    I'd like to not have to use the workaround.

    The workaround consists of:
    - creating RCTI branding themes
    - creating a purchase order for each entity needing RCTIs
    - edit that purchase order with the new details every time creation of an RCTI is needed (so in labour hire this can be every week for each contractor)

  15. When you view invoices under activity within a contact it would be immensely helpful to see the description of the invoice as a column because it is very complicated and frustrating to have to open each invoice under a contact before finding the one you are looking for.

  16. Is it be possible to add a section to 'find and recode' where you change status from approved back to draft? It would really help if hubdoc imports a number of documents incorrectly - tthen the fix can be done on bulk transactions

  17. It would be better is the invoice reference could allow for input of longer names, without scrolling, so it's all on one line on the invoice.
    Currently, the invoice number character length and the invoice reference character length are the same, which seems odd, as usually the invoice number is just a few characters, but the invoice reference can be long (project name, case name etc)

  18. This will allow a more accurate look on the stocks pre-ordered as well as incoming stocks. Instead of having to click each item to see it.

    Even in the reports, it's great to see it so we can just generate a quick report about it.

    Hi community, thanks for your insights on how this feature would be useful to you within Sales invoices. Being open we don’t have direct development for this planned atm, however our product teams are doing some more discovery in this space and we’d like to invite you to feedback through our survey here. Your input would be really valuable to the team as they get a deepened sense of our users for future improvements.

  20. Codes are set up as ***-yy which isn't logical to type. I guess it's an accounting convention but I can type 501.50 much easier (one hand on the numeric keypad and no need to move it to the'-') than 501-50.

    For non-accountants, and IT people 501.50 is the logical way to type and enter these codes.
