  2. Projects - I would like to see the references for each invoice in the list of quotes and invoices on projects. It is difficult to tack what you have invoiced when you have to open each individual invoice.

  3. Can we please have the report codes shown & editable on the chart of accounts page, and also through the actual reports?

    Reasons for the request:
    1. It is a logical workflow to specify how an account is to be reported when setting it up
    2. It saves having to view the report, realise a report code needs correction and then having to close the report to do this, if you can drill down straight from the report as displayed.
    3. As the account balance is shown on the Chart of Accounts page, it makes it clearer which accounts actually…

  4. It would be great if a column could be added to either the Aged Receivables Report or the Receivable Invoice Detail Report that shows the number of days the invoice is overdue by.

    The number of days an invoice is overdue by can be seen on the 'Awaiting Payment' tab in the invoice section in Xero, but even on this part the information cannot be exported.

    Hi team, to export a list of all Tracking categories in your org, you may find the Tracking Summary report of use to you here. Alternatively, you could run the Account Transactions report and Summarise by the Tracking category. 

    The one caveat here for both reports is that they'll only show a list of the tracking options that have been used within the date range the report is run. 

  6. Ability to untick the option of ‘Show currency items only’ by default.

    Purpose: To avoid confusion especially for users who are dealing with multiple currencies.

    Hey everyone, appreciate that this idea's intent is to help save user's time in calculating the VAT, but I wanted to share that it is possible to record partial VAT exemptions, for those who aren't aware. We will continue to to track interest in this idea but in the meantime you can:


    1. Calculate your own your partial exemption adjustment amounts
    2. Enter them as VAT box adjustments on your non-MTD or MTD VAT return

    Alternatively, if you use a set percentage adjustment you could do one of the following:

    • Add a custom Tax Rate for your % rate.
    • Adjust the VAT on each bill to the amount you can claim. Click the + next to the tax rate to do this. (You'll need to use the 'Amounts are' Tax Exclusive option to see it.)

    We recommend you talk to your accounting advisor or HMRC if you need more help with this.

  10. Would it be possible to create a setting where users can be blocked from processing an invoice with duplicate reference numbers. There is currently a message displayed but some users click past it therefore creating duplicate invoices/bills. Perhaps the message can be made more prominent and displayed in Red to alert users.

    Hi community, we appreciate the needs in being able to better manage bills that are being entered and how blocking users could help in understanding true cashflows for businesses. 

    Our product team have been thinking about how they might help alleviate the pain of identifying duplicate bills in Xero. We'd like to get some feedback on early designs the team have and would like to offer the ability to share back with us.

    Hey everyone, just a quick update on this one, as it was shifted to delivered in error.

    Whilst we have refreshed the VAT dashboard widget with a new look, it does not display your current VAT liability - apologies for the confusion.

    We’ll be opening this idea back up to votes and feedback from the community.

    As the team have confirmed this is one they’re exploring, we’ll pop it in ‘working on it’ for now.

    Also to better understand the idea would this be on a client basis or across all clients that are managed by a practice? 

  13. It would be extremely helpful to allow the user to show additional rows for certain expenditure and/or income items, broken down by tracking category. In our small business, we run 3 or 4 events per year, and we like to track box office and performer payments via tracking categories. We would then like to show these as rows rather than columns on our P&L reports.

  14. To produce a report that shows all expenses entered via the expense claim feature for a specific period, which also shows who entered the expenses and details of the claims?

    This is a useful feature required for comparing budgets and forecasting future cash flow expectations.

  17. Can you please add balances to the edit layout function so we can see what we are mapping or where things have automapped? I often need to open the financials in a separate tab while editing the layout because I can't see the balances and it would be nice if I didn't have to do that.

  19. When using Xero Projects, we can assigned Bills and Sales Invoices to a Project.

    However, it is possible to create a Sales Invoice and easily overlook assigning it to a Project.

    There is no way to identify Sales Invoices which have not been assigned to a Project. (A recent update provided a feature to do this for Bills but not Sales invoices)

  20. Ability to choose a cost limit for a fixed asset when the depreciation method is set to 'Full Depreciation at Purchase'.

    For instance a car is purchased for over the cost limit, therefore only $64k or so is able to be written off immediately with the balance to sit as an undepreciable amount.

    Currently the full depreciation at purchase method writes off the whole amount, and diminishing value at 100% with a cost limit will still pro-rata the depreciation for the year and not write off the full cost limit amount.
