Check Register - Set check defaults by bank account
Ability to set a default check style per bank account.
On the operating account the check stock has the check on the top, on the payroll account, the check stock has the check in the middle, and on the sales tax account, the check stock has the check on the bottom. Three separate checking accounts, three separate styles.
It would be nice to have a setting where you can say, "if a check is generated from the operating account, apply the operating account style."

Xero - Sync multiple Xero organisations to an external invoice program
Be able to sync multiple Xero organisations to the one external program (for us it's Splose) to allow invoicing from one program to split to appropriate Xero organisation.

Fixed Assets - Ability to select account/s for disposal
Currently, the accounts you choose for fixed asset additions and accumulated depreciation are also used for disposal and depreciation on disposal. It would be helpful to be able to choose different accounts for the disposal transactions from those used for additions.
For example, fixed asset additions would go to an 'additions' account, depreciation in the year goes to a 'depreciation charge' account. Disposals go to 'cost of disposals' and 'depreciation on disposals accounts'. This keeps everything separate and mirrors the corresponding figures required for Ltd Company statutory accounts in the UK.
Being able to choose different accounts makes it easier…

Search - By Project Name when searching for invoices
Search Job name when searching for invoices
The search function should be consistent across all search. If you can search for job name or part of job name in Search, you should be able to search for job name in Business/Invoices. This brings consistency to the search function.7 votes -
Fixed Assets - Automatically update depreciation start date when changing year end dates
It would be great if Xero dealt with changing balance dates more efficiently. If the balance date changes it should be able to automatically calculate the opening book value, then calculate the depreciation for the new financial year end as per usual. Currently its very manual and time consuming as it reverses all journals posted since you started using Xeros fixed asset feature. Very odd and very frustrating!
16 votesHi all, we wanted to round back here to share for those in the UK that we've now added the ability for you to create a short transition period (between 1 month and 12 months long) when changing the Financial Year End date.
To recap for anyone new coming across the idea - Aligning with the UK basis period reforms we've made a change to Financial settings so you can add start and end dates to different periods. This change impacts multiple areas of Xero.
- Fixed assets will draw on this information, to prevent any loss of historic information when your year end changes. Everything will automatically be calculated for you based on the period start and end dates you set in Financial Settings.
- The same applies in Reporting. All historic reports will be protected. And you’ll have accurate comparison periods even across varied financial years.
- In Xero Tax,…

Organisation Settings - Copy an existing company to create a new one in Xero
It could be helpful to have the functionality to be able to copy and existing company in Xero in order to create a new one with the same details. This would make setup of the new one much faster particularly when companies have multiple entities that do the same thing just in different states / Emirates / countries even. You can pretty much copy anything else within Xero so it would be beneficial to be able to just clone the company itself.

Invoicing - Make multiple payments without exiting invoice
Entering multiple payments to an Invoice in Xero. Currently it exits the invoice when you enter a part payment in the payment section. I often want to enter several payments for cash received and card payment received on several days and have to keep going back into the invoice for each payment.

Multicurrency: Bug - invoices show "outstanding bills" in wrong currency when viewed online
The "Outstanding bills" amount shown when viewing an invoice online is always shown in the Xero base currency, even when the invoice is in a different currency. This is not a good customer experience for international customers.
Specific example: My base currency in Xero is NZD. When I send an invoice to an Australian client the invoice is in AUD. When the client views the invoice online, it has AUD for the invoice amount, but in the blue bar at the top it shows "Outstanding bills" in NZD.
Example screenshot attached.
In Xero we have assigned "Australian Dollar" as the…

AU Payroll - Include commission & bonuses calculation on Schedule 5
Please fix the Schedule 5 PAYG calculation to include YTD commissions and bonuses as well as ordinary earnings. This is causing issues with tax not calculating automatically because the employee's only form of income is from commissions (real estate industry) and they are forced to report it under commissions for STP Phase 2 yet the calculation things they have $0 YTD earnings.

Chart of accounts - Default to latest transactions first
From Chart of Accounts, click on an amount in the YTD column. The account loads with the transactions in date order oldest to newest. Please reverse this (or create an option) for the transactions to load with the latest transactions first by default.

Bank Feed - Direct feed for BPoint (Commonwealth Bank Group)
We would like the option to setup a data feed in our Xero file for BPoint transactions to feed directly into Xero (like we have a data feed for our CBA business account). Currently these transactions come in through the CBA business account with no detail other than that they are a BPoint payment, whereas if we had the BPoint data feed setup we could receive all of this information (client name, invoice number, amount etc) to reconcile automatically.
7 votesHi everyone, thanks for your votes on the idea for a direct bank feed for BPoint. We're keeping this idea open to continue gathering support from the community.
At present, the level of transaction detail that appears in your main Commonwealth Bank (CBA) feed is determined by the bank. If you'd like to see more detailed BPoint information within your standard bank feed, we recommend passing this feedback on to CBA directly to see if they can make changes to the data they send.
You also may wish to explore the option of manually importing your BPoint transactions as a potential workaround to capture the details you need. If you can export this transaction data from BPoint directly, you can then import the file directly into Xero to reconcile.
We will continue to keep an eye on the interest for this idea.

AU Payroll - Show employee's last pay period figures in current draft pay run
Ability to show or report the variances/differences between the draft payrun and the prior period payrun.
This would save a huge amount of time going through each payslip to ensure the usual pay is being processed and nothing has been accidentally added or missed.
Especially when you have a large number of employees.3 votesHi team, while it's not possible to view the previous pay periods figures for comparison in the current pay period, you could open the previous pay period overview in a separate browser window. Meaning you can compare the two pay runs without having to go back and forth between them.

CIS - Breakdown on CIS Suffered Report
It would be a massive help if you could click on the figures on the CIS suffered report to see which customer invoices make up the report figures. Clients often ask me which invoices are included and I have to manually work out where the figures come from
22 votesHi all, wanted to share a workaround here for those who aren't already aware.
You can run the Account Transactions report on a cash basis and if you filter it by the CIS Labour Income or CIS Asset account, you can see the invoices which have been included in the CIS Suffered report.
We don’t have any plans in the near term to expand functionality on the CIS Suffered report. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

Top Customers Report - Ability to show chart in Net figures
To be able to run Top Customers report showing the net figures and not just gross.
12 votesAaah thanks for the clarification, Vicky and Alex. You could use the Management report to add the Top Customers report. Appreciate that the chart itself displays for Gross figures right now. We'll continue gathering interest for this here.
In regards to the sort order of the report - By default contacts will be sorted by the Gross column, however you can add a Net column and re-sort by clicking on any column header. 🙂

NZ Payroll - Update Days Paid in draft pay run to reflect timesheet hours
"Days paid" on timesheet defaults to number of days loaded in "Salary & Wages".
It needs to be overridden to actual days worked for the week when a timesheet is approved. Many staff work more or less days than the average and changing each one manually is incredibly cumbersome and has a huge margin for error3 votes -
Tracking - Restrict categories and tracking combinations
Ability to restrict the 2nd category tracker to a 1st category item.
Eg - Category 1 is the property, Category 2 is the tenant.
When we have multiple properties in an entity it would be great to be able to restrict tenant category to only relate to the 1 property that the tenants are for. This would help to stop a mis-match of property/tenant.

AU Payroll - Assign an employee to more than one pay calendar
Ability to switch between payroll calendars for an employee with multiple roles eg Jane is on the weekly payroll for her role as studio manager. She is also paid monthly super only for her roles as a sub-contractor yoga teacher.
So far we have managed this by posting Jane's weekly pay, and then switching the payroll calender to process the super and then switching it back again. The problem is that if Jane is already in a draft weekly payrun the calendar can't be switched until the draft payrun is processed. This makes the process fiddly.

Purchase Order - Report that shows invoice against PO and remaining balance
A report that shows all purchase orders with invoices against them and balance remaining.
59 votesHi community, we want to update you that we've recently released the ability to include Purchase Orders (PO) through Payable Invoice Summary report. If you expand the side panel on the left of the report and select the 'Outstanding purchase orders summary' report, this will automatically display all Bills, Credit Notes and Purchase Orders and group them by Contact for you. You can use the total row of each contact to infer the remaining balance.
We're aware this may not directly show the information that you’re asking for here, so we'll keep the status idea as it is and we’ll let you know if there’s any further updates.
