  1. Shortcuts for Financial Statement Reports

    It would be extremely helpful to have shortcuts to navigate financial statements.
    E.g. 1 would go to the first page of the report, 2 would go to profit and loss, 3 to balance sheet etc. this would assist with quickly switching between different reports in the financial statements.

    Hi Emile, appreciate you sharing this suggestion for specific shortcuts that would improve efficiency when working in reports. This idea is open for fellow community members to support through voting and comments.

    We also have an existing idea for more shortcuts in Xero - we'd encourage you to also add your vote to that broader idea here: Navigation - More keyboard shortcuts in Xero.

    Voting on both helps us in two ways: it shows our Reporting team the specific need you have, and it also contributes to the overall demand for more keyboard efficiency across all of Xero.

  2. Until recently when I saved a packing slip the default name was eg 'Packing Slip Inv - 4080'.

    Then recently after you dated your system the packing slips are now called eg 'Invoice Packing Slip Inv - 4080'.

    Can you change it back to remove the word invoice as it can cause confusion and staff may send the wrong document to suppliers and customers as both look like invoices.

    I am changing the name manually but it was simpler and clearer before Xero added the word 'invoice'

    If you can change it back that would be great and I'm sure…

    While we don't have any work planned for being able to move multiple lines at a time, I've slightly adjusted the title of the idea here for this specifically, and we'll continue to track the interest for adding multiple lines at once from this idea.

  4. E-Invoicing
    Is it possible to set e invoicing up at customer contact level. This would then allow me to bulk send my invoices as I currently do, rather than one by one

  5. Dont automatically open a new tab when clicking the contact link in the new invoice or give option to turn this off.
    There is Alt+click shortcut on all browsers to do this already.
    Making this auto open as default leads to too many unnecessary tabs and attributing to a more messy workflow

    Thanks for your detailed feedback, everyone. We do find that customers have differing expectations of how clicking a link should behave.

    With the current behaviour, opening the contact in a separate tab means that users don't lose any information they may have entered in the invoice.

    We don't have any plans for changing this in the near term but it'll be good for us to continue to get a sense of the interest around this from our community here. If there are any changes that may impact this we'll share an update with you all here.

  6. Create a Receivable and/or Payable Credit Note Report which lists all credit notes issued/received, and the corresponding invoice they are linked to. This will help as when a credit note is issued the status is 'paid', however if I want to do a review of invoices and days until invoice is paid, I want to be able to exclude items that have been credit noted.

  7. I am almost never going to want to view the oldest transactions first - but the default option is set to oldest to newest. So means I always have to click the date in order for it to show most recent items - not sure why this isn't the default?

    It would be so much more useful - please change default for all reports to newest to oldest.
    Or at least give me the option to make that the default for my Xero account. Thanks

  8. In New Invoicing, I need the ability to view the files in the file library prior to attaching them to an invoice, as I can do in Classic Invoicing. This is because when received into the file library, the files aren't always in the same order as they were scanned. I tried attaching a file using New Invoicing and it wasn't the right file and, because I couldn't return the file to the file library, I had to rescan the document back into the file library.   9. I would like to be able to 'print' or 'save' a pdf invoice to a folder of my choosing rather than to the default 'downloads'
    Currently ALL downloaded items from the internet are placed in 'downloads' so I need to move the invoice pdf to my chosen folder. It would be a excellent time saver if I could choose my own folder to save to, and have it use this chosen folder each time.

    I believe it is a software bug to rely on the default settings of the users browser to determine where files are saved to.

  10. All of my customers wanting to see their Purchase order number on our invoice . Also when they re order they usually reference their PO number for the re order. Is it possible to have when accepting the quote a field for customer reference or Purchase order which then will print on the invoice, this field also need to be in the lookup reference for the customer.

  11. I have entered selling prices excluding GST but have noticed that some personnel have been invoicing inc GST yet xero hasn't adjusted the price of the item to add 10%. I need the item price to be the same either way of invoicing.

    Can we make this happen some how ? so the price of the item is the same either way. MYOB manages to adjust it, you just set the price as either including or excluding and it adjusts it automatically when charged out. Maybe Xero should aim to improve this aspect of the program.

  12. In Xero’s current TPAR setup, there’s no field to enter a country code for suppliers. This becomes a problem when reporting overseas suppliers. I received a validation error from the ATO: "The Postcode field is 9999 therefore the Country field cannot be blank or a country name other than Australia must be entered." To prevent this issue and simplify reporting, it would be helpful if the Country field auto-filled with "AU" by default, but remained editable for cases involving international suppliers.

  13. Would love to see the Accounting menu split so that there are new menus for Reporting & Bank Accounts. Show under the Accounting menu all the actions (journals, fixed assets, chart of accounts, advanced accounting, plus favourites). Then a separate menu for Reporting - listing the different reporting sections Adviser, Custom, Drafts, Archived etc. plus favourites). And a separate menu for Bank Accounts (reconciliation report, bank accounts, bank rules, etc).

  14. There is currently an option for a DEA to be table based when setting it up, however this doesn't do any of the calculations for the DEA. Instead, they need to be calculated manually & entered as a fixed amount. There is also no way of keeping track of the amounts deducted until the total has been paid within Xero, this also has to be done manually. This can especially be difficult if the employee's pay varies each period.

  15. Bills - View bills awaiting payment summarised by supplier with the ability to expand supplier to view invoices and select individually or make changes if required.

    You need to use the awaiting payment screen to create batch payments. To make payments you have to select each individual invoice for a supplier which takes time and is inefficient.

    Having the ability to view the awaiting payment screen showing summary (total) for the supplier would be helpful. You can still filter dates so you can see everything owed to a supplier within date range. Much like an Aged Payables report. You can…

  16. AutoPay reporting - Xero needs a report that will show all the customer paying by AutoPay or show the percentage of invoices setup with AutoPay or even just have AutoPay Active/AutoPay offered in a separate column on the list of repeating invoices so we could sort by that information to determine how many of our customers are using AutoPay.

  17. We utilise the client groups in Xero Blue's contact list, but are unable to generate a debtors statement by those groups, without having to tick each individual card separately in a statement run. It would be helpful to be able to view and generate statements by our existing groups.

  18. Invoices Australia
    An update in the last few months bought inconsistency into the invoicing format in terms of the decimal points on the unit pricing. It would be good to be able to define this - to two, three, four decimal points so that there is consistency on the invoices rather than some units at two and some at four decimal points.

  20. For bills uploaded to:
    1) Auto-populate descriptions, quantities, and item prices in your bills &
    2) Notify you if banking details on the invoice differ from the last invoice received from that supplier.
