When showing a list of statements to send (from Business - Invoices - Send Statements) from Send Statements, can the invoice number be shown on the screen so sorting can be done on invoice number. Also the date of the invoice would be handy as well to give an idea of when first looking at the front screen as to how old they are. It would make choosing and sending quicker and more efficient.

  2. NZ Pay Day Filing Reminder

    To avoid missing the pay day filing requirement of two days within pay day, where an email reminder notification would be handy to pick up when a pay run has not been posted to the IRD, or if it were to be showing as an error, as the IRD penalty for missing this timing is steep.

  3. An option to see how many 'days' due in preview section for the new version of invoicing

    Could we have an option in xero please to select 'due 30 days' from when we approve/send an invoice ?
    In the classic invoicing when you preview it (before approving and sending it) it would always say how many 'days' it is due as well as the 'due date' this helps as we expect payment within 30 days of the customer receiving the invoice not 30 days from the invoice date.

  4. I think being able to connect a barcode scanner to xero to allow users to create a new invoice and scan items to have them appear as line items would be very beneficial to many customers. A lot of people use xero to resell items and if i could create a new invoice and instead of manually type everything, to just scan the UPC and have the item pop up would help prevent human errors

  5. I think the time has come to invest in AI, as a accounting software leader (Xero). Many people invest their money in AI software, like accountants, to do better / more accurate and faster budgets, forecasting (cash/accrual) mixed with different scenario's, transaction reconciliations and presentations of data/information and graphs. This usually in excel; outside the accounting software, where mistakes are likely to happen. I am not in IT, or software development/integrations, so I do not have an idea what this type of investment would cost, but my gut feeling is it would be worth it.

    Like your forward thinking, Johan. 

    As Freya mentioned there is some AI going on in Xero already with the way Xero makes suggestions to help you reconcile your bank account.

  7. We are forwarding inbound invoice emails to the Xero processing address, but, many suppliers send multiple copies (up to 5 or 6) saying "Invoice", "Invoice due in x -7 days", "Invoice due today", "Invoice paid", each with the invoice.

    Going through the duplicates screen is time consuming.

    Please make this easier for bulk actions:

    1) a keep this and delete others (in a group)
    2) a delete all (in a group) - sometimes we get statements or similar sent and right now we can delete the duplicates but have to go back to the invoice list to delete the original.

  8. Could we please add the 'Due Date' option to the Aged Receivables Summary Report. I love the simplicity of this report versus the Detailed report but unlike the detailed report, there is no option to add the due date.

    Thanks for the feedback, Jodi. When you say you'd like to add the Due date I'm guessing this would be as a column to the report? One thing that would make this tricky is where you have multiple due dates for a customer with multiple invoices in the period the reports being run - what date would you expect to show here?

  9. Currently this only shows over a 12 month period when in all cases I'd like to see how well each customer or supplier has performed against the same month last year.

    At worst could this not simply be a 15 month graph (as if it were 13 then the previous month/previous year would drop of when everything was in by the beginning of the following month?

    • at best could you select filters to compare even the past 3 years by month etc...

    Hi Eilish, is there are particular way your staff are recording how they bill customers through your Xero organisation atm? - e.g are you using Projects, or Tracking?

    As you noted there maybe a report that we an suggest that'll fully serve your needs in this here.

  11. I have had a few scenarios where an employee requests leave and then I have gone into Xero and there are no requests. The employee has cancelled the request, but I have no visibility on this and so I have to reach out to the employee and check so could a notification be sent if an employee cancels a leave request before it is approved? Or if the leave request was left in Xero, but with a 'cancelled by employee' status or something? It is important to have visibility in some form.

  12. I would like to be able to flag or log a Xero issue, without having to raise a case.
    Sometimes my colleagues and I are having the same issue at the same time with Xero. Eg. Dashboard not displaying correctly, unable to change organisation from the dropdown menu. But when we go to https://status.xero.com/ everything is showing as "Operational".

    An option of being able to click onto a region; setting; choose the issue would be great. That means that Xero could be alerted quickly if there is a wider issue, or if it's an isolated issue.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting to help Xero identify and raise issues asap. While we may consider changes to this overtime, to be upfront there are no immediate plans for changing the current method to raise these sort of issues with us. There are a number of troubleshooting steps our specialists will work through with a customer to rule out external factors that could be impacting your experience with Xero, and they'll get the right detail to investigate, triage and escalate if the cause does appear to stem from within the product.

    One area we know customers can commonly run into trouble with is bank feeds, and we do have work going on atm to enable customers to send us an alert if they are experiencing trouble with a bank accounts feed from within their organisation. You can stay up to date with progress for this, on this idea.

  15. Creating projects in Xero is a great and useful function. Creating estimated expenses inside of the projects is even greater. However, those estimated expenses not showing estimated costs to complete the project is a missing crucial feature for me. Currently the estimated costs do not show in projects summary reports unless there are expenses towards that estimated expense item. This is a major flaw because anyone wanting to track estimated expenses needs to know the estimated costs to complete on all projects.

Hi Team, Im not sure if this has been raised, but can we get the ability when setting up an employee to be able to allocate a % of their salary costs between different department / cost centres. At this stage we do not have the option of splitting salary costs without having to do manual journals

  17. Bank reconciliation screen: Why now, when reconciling, the page shifts down from the top! Shifting up from the bottom would make more sense and be less confusing. I reconcile from the latest and scroll down the page, but the page shift affects the ability to find my place for the next transaction down the list to reconcile. Often, I reconcile a wrong item as the screen header rolls down not up after I have reconciled a transaction. I find I always must readjust my vision. Very annoying.

  18. Cheque payments should have the cheque number visible for matching in the bank feed. In the past, Xero cheque numbers were displayed with the payment informatio "suggested match" column of bank recs.

    When you have 5+ outstanding cheques for the same amount, it was easy to verify that you were matching the correct one because you could see the cheque number on the bank feed as well as the payment. Now you have to drill down into "find match" and actually open the payment to verify. Very cumbersome.

  19. Feature: I'd like to be able to format the [Due Date] field when it's included in email templates.

    Use Case: My standard emails include a line which reads "This invoice will be due for payment by 09 Oct 2023". I have to reformat the date to a more readable style every time.

    Basic Outcome: Using standard date formatting you should be able to express the date as "Monday 9 October, 2023" - note that the leading "0" on the date number has been omitted, and also the inclusion of a comma after the month.
