  1. Option to link bill due dates to a calendar, ie iCal, Google, Outlook etc. We use a scheduling program called Flight Schedule Pro for bookings and it has this useful feature.

  2. Have a designated advisor / subscriber have the ability to remove multi factor authentication from a user so that a new method can be set up by the user.

  3. I have an employee with two bank accounts - Bank Account 2 currently has a dollar amount going to it, and Primary Bank Account has the balance. The employee would like to swap which one is getting the dollar amount and which the balance. I'd like to do this with a button.

    Instead I have to do it manually, copying and pasting field by field.

  4. There is nowhere to report missing features and bugs apart from this forum, which is more for ideas.
    I have found it difficult to find a place to report an issue quickly.
    For new invoicing the list of missing features and bugs should be reported so we can see what has already been picked up and what is being worked on and fixed.

    HI Jill, appreciate you posting here, not knowing where else to go.

    For something that appears to not be working as it should or where you're having performance issues in Xero - these are best to raise with our specialists at Xero Support where we have tools to investigate, triage any issues and escalate with our team if needed.

    When it comes to new invoicing we've communicated a lot of the changes and what's coming up through our Xero central page here. Otherwise, you'll also find many ideas for changes across product ideas here that I'd recommend joining for updates where you're interested. Searching 'New invoicing' on the main page of the site should help you find a list of the different features.

    Hi team, while not a 'default' option for this within Xero, you could achieve this using a Custom DOCX branding theme, with an advanced invoice template.

    With the template open in Microsoft Word, you can add the ContactPhysicalAddress merge field where you want their Delivery Address to appear.

    You can add your logo and make any other changes you'd like, before saving the file and uploading it back into your branding theme in Xero.

    You'll then want to select this custom branding theme for your invoices.

  6. Can the VAT account be split into two, a method that Sage utilises?

    A vat control account and a VAT suspense account.

    The VAT suspense account will show the balance of the Dr or Cr of vat payable or owing from transactions included in the VAT return, this is where the Vat payments to/from HMRC are posted.

    The VAT control account shows the balance of transactions where input/output VAT has been realised from invoices raised/received, but are not yet included in the VAT return typically because the the company is operating the VAT cash scheme.

    Hi Robert, being upfront this isn't something we have any intentions of changing in the near term. We will continue to track interest in your idea here for the time being but would be quite a fundamental change to the way tax works in Xero.

  7. It is possible to see a list of bills not assigned to a project.

    However, I would like to be able to see a list of all transactions not assigned to a project including spend money and receive money.

  8. We wish to let some of our users have access to purchase orders, raising & viewing etc.

    Currently if we give them access to purchase orders it also lets them see supplier balances and also click into the supplier and therefore into the accounts i.e invoices etc.

    We would like our staff to just see the purchase orders and raise purchase orders but not have access to anything else.

  9. When approving timesheets it would be ideal to have separate lines underneath Ordinary Hours with Leave requested, on which days and hour amounts and to be able to approve there instead of having to go to a different screen.

    Can be hard to double check and remember correct days the leave was taken and also to ensure daily and weekly hours are met.

  12. I would like to be able to see the "Contact Details" as a little box on the left side of the Customer Activity Page. See my example attached.

    I use the 'contact details: notes' section to add notes about some of our jobs, because the History/Notes section is useless. I would like to see the ability to move the customer tabs around and display what we want to see on the activity page.

    I can certainly see how having those specific notes visible right alongside the transaction feed would improve efficiency and make sure key information isn't missed.


    While this isn't in our immediate plans to make changes in this area, this idea is open for support from other community members, and we'll keep a close eye on the interest here.

Please automatically remove archived contacts from any previous groups, or show those groups on the archive page. the new group invoicing keep including archived contacts and showing errors. the only way to remove people from groups is to restore them, remove them from groups and the archive them again. with over 1100 contacts this is a mammoth task and one i don't have time for. it was all working fine before you changed to new invoicing, you made the problem, you should make the solution.

  16. On projects under "quotes & invoices" it would be great if it showed the remaining balance of the invoice. I send 4-5 invoices per project and sometimes clients pay a random lump sum and i write it off against the invoices but that can lead to an invoice being part paid and being able to see which invoices have been paid or have a remaining balance under that view would be beneficial instead of having to get out of projects and searching the invoice under the invoice tab.

  17. Hey Xero, there seems to be a lot of issue and complaints about new invoicing. How about giving us all a break and re-enable the old invoicing till you get thing sorted out.

    • Cant stop auto save , there is no undo button if you make a mistake.
    • Tabbing between fields is not the same.
    • Can't add expenses and leave them un-allocated to a GL, I know that the expense is @ cost price and needs to be completed. -Cant change the Customer with Billable expenses assigned without loosing the billable expenses and have to re-assign them

    Appreciate your feedback, Selwyn. We try to keep each idea separate so it's clear to others in community what they're adding their vote for, we can gauge the interest in a particular feature, and we can keep everyone updated of any development.

    In relation to the points you've shared here we have an idea you may like to join around being able to switch off autosave, and another around the auto suggest feature that current fills in the account GL field for you and relates to your second point on leaving this blank.

    Our team did make some changes to the flow of tabbing, so this should be more logical however it'd be good to get more detail on what's causing you issues when tabbing in new invoicing atm.

  18. Hi Team, my query is about Draft Invoices. Is there any chance of having a 'Stop do you want to proceed' when it comes to a draft invoice being sent instead of the actual Invoice? I was convinced that I had approved a draft invoice, yet when the email was sent, it was not the Invoice as per the subject reference, but the draft. Embarrassing to say the least.
    Just that extra step would be very helpful. Not the first time it has happened to us. Thank you,

  19. At present we are able to edit the layout of reports by rearranging, creating formulas, and grouping accounts. It would be INCREDIBLE to be able to customize the following.

    1) Group font (size and boldness only)- right now it defaults to a much larger BOLD font than the underlying accounts. It would be nice to choose these sizes and weights

    2) Customize the Group Total's Location - at present it shows only as an additional labeled row with the corresponding total. It would be a neater presentation to just have the group total show right in line with its main…

    We've identified that there are existing Xero Product Ideas relating to customising fonts and styles in reporting, and collapsing and expanding account groups. We've gone ahead and added your vote to these ideas, so that we can gather support and gauge interest for these ideas separately.

    We've also adjusted the title of this idea to reflect your suggestion to change the position of group totals in custom layouts. This idea can now gather support through votes and comments from others in the community.

Though I am grateful and happy that the "New Invoice - Cursor Default Position" was resolved, thank you, it is now affecting the amount of time it takes for the draft to autosave after entering/selecting the contact. The amount of time it takes for the draft to autosave is significantly longer now than it was before the cursor position was fixed. The draft is still "saving" even after I have entered the rest of the information into the date, invoice number, and reference fields.     Thanks for sharing, Angela. With the way autosave works, you should be able to just keep drafting your invoice and it will save in the background. So you don't need to wait.


    If you're noticing a significant lag in the invoice saving, this is best investigated by our team of specialists. I'd recommend raising a case with our Xero Support team on Xero Central who can take a closer look into this with you 1-on-1 🙂.
