  1. When you've uploaded multiple receipts/invoices to a transaction it would be useful to have a "next" button to go through all the uploads rather than having to X out and click individually into each attachment. For example expenses. This will save time reviewing

  2. When creating tasks in Projects, we are currently limited to 100 characters. Removing this limitation would be extremely beneficial. I frequently handle percentage billing for a client, and this process requires creating tasks for each billable line item when generating quotes.

    Here’s the detailed process and the challenges faced due to the character limit:

    1. Creating Quotes and Tasks:

      • For each quote, tasks need to be created for every billable line item.
    2. Invoicing:

      • When it's time to create an invoice, I have to open the original estimate.
      • Each line item from the estimate must be copied and pasted into the invoice…

  3. Xero Inventory Plus should be an option, similar to Expenses and Projects, for any/all users regardless of roles. I need everyone on my team to see where our inventory stands.

  4. I can see multiple suggestions and several thread over a number of years regarding the need for an SMS feature for both customer communication and invoicing. When are you going to add this? The tech is readily available to you. Many other platforms offer this now. Please prioritize this enhancement! Thanks.

    Hi everyone, we want to say thank you to everyone that's shared back on their experience with our beta for sending invoices via SMS.

    We've had great results and are moving forward to release this to all users in Australia, as a start.

    Those that have been trialing this for us in Australia will lose access for a short period of time, however I'll be back to share once it's available to everyone in AU 🙂

  5. Ability to automatically pay supplier bills from within Xero, withouth having to login to online banking.

    Purpose: To make it easier to pay bills, rather than having to jump between two different platforms.

    Hi everyone, appreciate there are more regions users would like to see us adopt solutions for and we'll keep you in the know of any progress, here.

    In the UK, we have some updates with the bill payments method with Crezco. You now have more control of your cashflows with the ability to schedule bills to be paid at a future date using direct bank transfer. This'll help avoid potential bank charges for same day transactions, and missing due dates. Along with this you'll also be able to stay up to date with your payments with real-time payment status in Xero. Meaning you don't have to log into your bank to check the status of each bill payment. With an overview of all payments made using direct bank transfer, you have an accurate record of which suppliers have been paid, and when.

  6. I’m moving from an existing system to Xero, so need to enter my new data into Xero for the current financial year which the accountant then files with HMRC. But at the same time I need to import my older data without affecting the current filings. All the accountant can do is to lock the accounts from a date backwards, which means I cannot enter my old data.
    All I want is to be able to lock financial years, enter the old data and then use Xero to identify if the accountant needs to make any future adjustments.

  7. Be able to change an employee/director to be excluded from the pension at any time.
    At the moment, if a director is not excluded from the pension scheme straight the way, the payroll has to be rolled back to when the director was assessed. This is fine for small payrolls but would be very timely on the larger payrolls.

  8. Could the user have access to the calendar in payroll to allow them to manually input other dates that are important but not automatically fed into the calendar and also set up reminder alerts?

    Sage allowed you to this which was really useful if you had to remove/add a benefit on a certain date.

When merging contacts, you start typing the name of a contact you'd like the currently open contact merged into, and a list of similarly named contacts appears (including the contact you're getting rid of by merging it). I'd like to be able to open each of these in another tab from this list, so I can look and see which one I actually want.

    Similarly to the CTRL-click, from the list view you can use the mouse by using the left click + scroll button together to open a contact in a separate tab.

    That said, appreciate if you're in a contacts record, this does mean opening another tab to search from the main contacts list.

    To be honest, we don't have any immediate plans for developing the merge within a contact. It's something we'll continue to track here though, and I'll update if there's any progress to share.

  11. The importing of assets from csv files via the new module does not work. I keep getting invalid file type.
    Yet using the same csv file in the old fixed assets module works perfectly well.
    Why was this bug not picked up in testing before releasing? Please ensure this is fixed before the old module is retired.

    Appreciate you raising this here. While the team do lots of testing before releasing new features sometimes there can be odd issues that pop up that could be niche or specific to a device or browser.

    It would be good to get a bit more detail so we could better understand and take a closer look into what may be causing this issue when trying to import Fixed Assets in the new module.


    Could you please raise this with our specialists at Xero Support through the Contact Xero Support link at the bottom of the page here in Xero Central? If you can share the file that you were importing when you ran into issues as well as any detail about the error you're getting that will help the team investigate. Thanks

  12. If im in a project and i start the timer i still have to tell it which project im timing (find or choose a project) Seems logical for it to automatically populate the field with the project im currently in...

    We would like to request that the feature or the option to charge interest on customers for overdue accounts be developed as most other accounting packages has this feature and it becomes time consuming when this has to be calculated and brought in as additional invoices when there are numerous accounts that this needs to be done on.

  14. IMPORT of CSV with CREDIT / DEBIT COLUMN

    Please add a function to allow import of CSV where debit / credit is marked in a separate column to the amount instead of +/- signs only.

    My bank outputs transactions in the following format:

    E.G.

    Transaction 1 CR 1231.12
    Transaction 2 DR 543.00

    The above denotes a credit of 1231.12 and a debit transaction of 543.00.

    The CR/DR or words Debit/Credit are contained in a separate column.

  16. Whilst creating or editing "normal" bills, archived Products and Services don't appear in the Item pick lists to choose from. However, when creating or editing Repeating Bills ALL the Products and Services appear in the Item pick lists, irrespective of whether they're active or archived.

    With many Products and Services archived (we have to renew them all annually), this makes the resetting of our Repeating Bills very labourious and makes the chances of making errors many times greater, as we can accidently choose archived Products and Services.

    This looks to be a bug in the system that needs rectifying quickly.

  17. Our financials include a report on the profitability of projects closed during the month. Because the system writes the date of closure from the actual live date that the user marks the project as closed, the user needs to make sure that each project is marked as closed immediately on the date of completion. E.g. If a project is completed in the last week of the month the user must ensure that the closure field is ticked during that week and not wait until the following week.

    Can you allow the user to enter or amend the closure date ?

  18. Journal entries - You can tab from box to box, but it doesn't tab from the Date box to the Auto Reverse Date box. It would be so handy if it did and ave time. If you don't want it you would just tab on to the next box. At the moment, you have to manually click on the box each time you want it

  20. A section for CIS suffered as like the current CIS deducted would be really useful. The reporting for CIS deducted is great and helps records for monthly PAYE. A similar section on the CIS suffered side would be great - checking through separate ledgers and updating RTI filings is manual in contrast.
