  1. Tracking codes - have the option to make Tracking code 1 or 2 mandatory (so when setting up the Tracking code - at the time of creation, the user can tick mandatory or optional). If mandatory is ticked, then whenever a transaction is created of any type coding to a non-balance sheet account, then the user will not be able to save the transaction unless the tracking code is completed. If optional is ticked, then the situation that happens now exists. This optional/mandatory option can be changed at any time.

  3. When selecting Remove and Redo for Spend transactions, all attachments are lost.
    If the attachments are receipts that were photographed using the Xero app, they are not kept on the Xero app either.
    This means that selecting Remove and Redo is the same as throwing the original receipt in the shredder, not just in the bin to potentially be retrieved later.
    A pop-up warning asking if you'd like to save the attachments to the File Library before removing and redoing would avoid the loss of the transaction's supporting documentation.

  4. When on the awaiting payment tab for invoices - having a small notes section visible so you don't have to go in and view each invoice to see if there are any notes. For example if an invoice is dispute and the payment expected date isn't known it would ideal just to see it at a quick glance.

  5. Set the default time method for timesheets.

    Allow the payroll admin to set the default method for all employees to capture the timesheet details. EG set all employees to use only the time in and time out method not the hours method.

  6. At the moment I am adding employee costs (wages) into xero projects.

    We have an option with bills to assign a project to that bill be awesome to be able to assign hours worked (with cost) to each of our projects in the timesheet section, and to set per line be good.

    eg;
    Monday project 1 - $250
    Tuesday project 2 - $300
    wednesday project 3 - $250

  7. Part 1: Integrate with Companies office NZ (or similar) so that when I enter the name of a new contact it looks for the details of the company published on the companies office / NZBN. This could reduce data entry and validate that the name entered is a real company, accepting it wouldn't cover other entities.

    Part 2: When a company status changes (e.g. goes into liquidation) you could show Xero users a warning, could do the same for company name & address changes etc..

  8. When go in to view/approve timesheets have the ability to set a default pay calendar to use (currently all pay calendars including archived pay calendars come up). And the pay calendar for last week (defaults to the current week which means need to scroll down and repeat each time you view/check a new employee). Not very time efficient

  9. Short term cash flow projection, please can you update it to show bills with future dated payments?

    Once our suppliers bills are in for the month, we often set bank payments up for them for their due date so that we don't' have to keep remembering to make payments. If we mark them up with a future payment date, they are removed from the cashflow forecast. It would make much more sense if they appeared in the cashflow on the date they have been set to pay.

  11. It would be great if there was an option to automatically attach the supplier source invoices to the batch payment summary report.

    For example, where an SME has an in-house accounts person raise the batch payment for approval, you would have the option to not just download the batch summary report but include the attached files as well (i.e. the supplier invoices).

    Currently you have to down load the batch payment summary and attach the invoices separately. Whilst accounting practices may have document manager packages that can do this for them, SME owners may not and this feature would be…

The functionality to allow for intercompany reporting when the currencies are different between the organisations - for this we would need to be able to create an asset/liability account in a currency other than the local currency. This would eliminate any Foreign exchange gains/losses on intercompany balances.

  15. Could Xero start looking at a drop down box on the allowance to have one as Not Reportable (alongside the other catagories eg. Meals, Tools, Car), and to have it out for STP reporting? or another checkbox down the bottom along with the withholding tax, super, and W1 questions?
    Instead of going through the long winding process of creating an ordinary earning, remove as deduction and do a reimbursement as per https://central.xero.com/s/article/Process-special-pay-items-like-living-away-from-home-allowance

  16. I am looking for a way to view a value for the supplier or customer transaction as a total value not as individual lines in the vat201 report. For example. I have 3 line transactions in 1 customer invoice, so it shows these three separately. I dont want to view it like that, I want to view it as a complete value, so we can double check the whole invoice as opposed to going to the invoice and looking line through line, which is extremely time consuming

  17. It would be super useful to add the xero organisation name to the subject line of emails sent from recipients of online invoices so firms with multiple xero organisations can see straight away, which xero organisation the contact belongs too, when they submit an email query via their online invoice link.

  18. Currently there’s no functionality in Xero to run an IAS without the GST Accounting Method set up.
    Suggest a feature request that allows you to prepare the activity statement regardless of the entity being registered for GST or not.

  20. When a statement is sent to customers it would be great if there was a tick or "sent" next to the customer details in the statements section. At the moment i tick the "send me a copy" box. But i am always having to go back to my emails to check or manually writing down who has been sent statements.
