  1. Example we explain here is a 4 line Purchase Order in CSV format which, using the Bills To Pay Template, we are importing in my test Xero platform.
Each line in the PO use a different Account Code from our Chart of Accounts.

In brief, if we leave any of the Account Code fields empty the system does not seem to want to import the Supplier Contacts Purchasing Default Account settings.
I have tried all versions of this import and the only one I can get to work is one where all the fields are completed.
    This means we have…

  2. Currently when creating a batch payment, the bank payment details fields (Particulars / code / reference) are all drawn from the payee's Xero contact details page.

payment of some bills require an invoice number in the bank payment reference field (rather than just an account number), and this also helps to track which invoices are paid for companies with frequent / varied billing + auditing bank transaction list records.

It would be great if either:
    a) For a specific bill, Xero reads the invoice number and places this into the "reference field" within the bill payments screen (usually works) AND…

  3. Ive moved form Quickbooks to Xero (I guess this is common).
Xero does not accept bank feeds from Macquarie Banks - Offset Accounts.
It's very frustrating to manually have to import bank statements every month and I would love if they could please collaborate so it can occurs. It makes it tedious for my business and I lose hours trying to do it every time.

    Cheers

  4. I would like to be able to edit an entered transaction, i.e., transfer, payment, etc. When I am reconciling, some transactions are posted on the following month, but they were entered at the end of the prior month this creates a problem when reconciling. All I need to do is edit the date and change it, but I have to remove and redo the transaction. This is extremely time-consuming.

Also, could we change the bank account when we enter the transaction in the wrong registry instead of removing and redoing it?

  5. Ability or setting to default include files attached to an invoice when sending from Xero

Purpose | Steps are currently involved to include files that are on an invoice when sending the invoice to a customer, an option like this would ease the process of including files that a customer needs to have access to and see when they received their invoice

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback on this idea, community. We appreciate that having to manually select attachments on every invoice can feel a little fiddly. We get that you want a smoother workflow, that saves you time.

As noted by others in the idea, one option for now would be to add standard files, like your terms and conditions, directly to your invoice template. That way, they'll be included automatically when you send out your invoices.

To confirm how this functionality currently works - this is based on the user and driven by the last invoice that was sent. Where you have files attached, and you had selected to include files as an attachment when emailing the invoice, the next invoice you send with file attachments should have this selected by default.

A caveat to this is when you are working in incognito mode, or refresh your browser…

  6. Have also the change payee option, From copying the Purchase order to Invoice, so the customer from PO will remain in supplier contact lists only.

Hi Janilyn, appreciate it's not an option when going through the copy to process. However, once the invoice is created you can click the 'x' next to the contacts name to remove and type the correct customers name.

If the previous contact has only had purchase transactions entered for them, once you've remove them from the invoice they should not be shown in the customers list in your organisation.

  7. All Actions relating to attached files should be recorded in History and notes, eg Attachment added from Files:Inbox, Attachment Downloaded, Attachment Deleted, Attachment returned to Files:Inbox

  9. Set credit card accounts as liabilities, not assets. We are not a bank, so credit cards are properly liabilities. There should be no reason these accounts should be reported as assets in any circumstance.

I can't set Account Type for bank accounts unless there is a feed associated with it. Even though, I'm not sure what good that actually does, and we don't have feeds for all our accounts. "Credit Card" is an available account type for bank accounts when they are feed-enabled, so adding credit cards as bank accounts appears to be what Xero intended, and that's what we…

Aaah yes I get what you mean, thanks for coming back to clarify for me, Kevin. We'll leave the idea here to gather interest.

While this isn't something we have plans for atm, I'll update if there is any change around this to share.

  11. I note there are repeating (aka recurring) invoices and bills.
I would like repeating quotes as well because every year, we issue a quote to some of our clients for maintenance agreements or hosting agreements. It is basically the same quote every year except that the amounts are adjusted for CPI

  12. At the moment I cannot email end of year CIS statements through Xero to contractors like I can for monthly CIS statements.

It would be very helpful to have this facility as I have to download PDF for EACH contractor (which can be very time consuming) and email individually at year end.

This is a requirement as a CIS main contractor, so should be automated and easier for us to do this. Thanks

Thanks for your feedback, Sadie. We don't have any direct plans for a PDF / Print shortcut atm but we'll feel out the interest from your idea here and let you know if there's any progress.

  14. New Invoicing - bring back the 'save and continue adding' button in drafts, a feature classic invoicing offered. When completing invoices with multiple lines it is imperative that it you can save during input without having to save and close. Especially now that the new invoicing is unreliable.

Hi Meradene, as new invoicing also encompasses auto save there is no need to manually save your invoice. Once you've added a Contact, as you move between fields of your invoice Xero will continuously save any data you've entered.

It sounds like you may be having trouble with this though and if you're finding you're loosing information you've entered I'd really encourage reaching out to our specialists at Xero Support who can take a closer look to investigate what's going on for you.

  15. When entering expense claims, the program should be set to retain the date entered in the last expense claim item. When catching up on accounting, it is cumbersome to be working on July in December and have to go back and change the entire date for each entry. I should be able to retain the last entry date on the next and simply be able to edit the day.

  17. In Australia, users need to be able to manually edit the amount of GST paid on a transaction. This is required because certain transactions (particularly grocery and pharmacy transactions) have a mixture of items, some of which have GST applied, and some that do not. Unfortunately, the receipts for these types of transactions do not indicate which specific items have incurred GST - they just have a total amount of GST paid on that receipt. As such, it would be great if users could just override the total amount of GST paid for those receipts. See attached for an example…

  18. Suggestion for Enhancing Note Visibility in Xero

When writing notes for any invoice, bill, or manual journal in Xero, the notes are typically placed in the History column. However, this makes them less visible to someone new who might review these documents. If these notes could be added as sticky notes at the top corners of the page, they would be more prominent and could help avoid potential mistakes caused by missing information. Additionally, creating an alert for anyone new accessing these documents would ensure they are aware of important notes. Highlighting these notes could further enhance visibility and capture…

  19. This is minor but annoying. I am working my way through a list of draft assets and when you register each asset Xero reverts to the registered list rather than returning to the draft list. This gets very tedious when you have a lot of draft assets!

Conversely when you are disposing of assets it reverts to the disposed assets list when it would be more efficient to revert to the registered assets list so I can dispose of the next asset.

Appreciate the feedback on the little things that would improve your experience when working with Fixed Assets. I've shared this back with our product team. We don't have any immediate plans but we'll track the interest and share if there's any change planned.

  20. We would like to see customers contact person's name appearing on the invoice we send. One customer can have different people/contacts for different projects/invoices. Currently we can only pull out the PRIMARY contact's name to the invoice, which means if we would like to add a different name, we have to REMERMBER to edit customer's primary contact to a different person. It is very time consuming and easy to forget too.
Is there any ways we could simply add a contact person against each invoice instead of against each customer? It could be any extra fields we can use, even…
