  1. Our company are making use of the "personal money" and "company money" options to submit their expense claims. There is a report to track cost paid with personal money but no report to track cost paid with the company money. This report will be critical for commission calculations.

    Hi Hiten, company money transactions are recorded in the organisation as Spend money. You could run the Account Transactions report for your bank accounts, and add a filter for, or group the report by source to only see spend money transactions.

    In terms of commissions, we don't have a specific feature for tracking this however you could use Tracking in Xero to set up a Tracking category and each of the employees as a tracking option on that category. This way when they are entering company money transactions you could track it back to the employee by filtering by that tracking option.

  2. I have noticed that when you are preparing to send an invoice via email in Xero that you can now add new addresses in the TO, CC and BCC lines. This is great.

    However, I have noticed that ALL contacts are available to add here. It would be safer to only allow the contact email addresses associated with the contact name on the invoice. It is too easy to add the wrong address and potentially send invoice information to the wrong client.

    If other people needed to do this, perhaps a tick box could be applied to allow ALL CONTACTS…

  3. I have to create a biill with about 60 line items which contain a mix of duplicate and variable information. As there's no way to duplicate line items in bills, I employed a workaround by exporting Xero's inbuilt bills template file 'BillTemplate.csv'. In Excel I was then able to quickly and easily create 60 copies of the same line item, make the changes necessary and import the csv file into Xero which successfully created the bill containing the 60 line items - thus saving me hours of wasted time.

  5. Being able to see a map with the location pins for each customer and sort them by the various Xero groups, would be invaluable. This would enable us to easily visualise our national/global coverage to help better understand regional product usage. As a business that provides products to public locations, it would also be an efficient way to reference existing installations near to new enquiries for them to reference.

    Hi Yumei, a few different bulk requests in the one here. 

    In terms of branding themes when you say you'd want to bulk update branding would this be detail within your branding themes, or the branding applied to invoices in Xero? If the latter, perhaps you'd find setting a default from your Contacts record a useful way to edit this? 

    We try to keep individual ideas separate so our product teams can get a good understanding of exactly is being asked, and others in community know what they're voting for.

  7. An option to add a column (Received by) to PO menu.
    This will display that an order was received form the menu rather than clicking in to each individual PO to fond out.

  8. Name of user in account transaction list - Would it be possible that the username of the person who edited or created a specific transaction be visible when downloading the account transaction? This is to make it easier to track who updated the information.

  10. Having an option to customize the details on the main "Expense Claims - To Review" screen (Business > Expense Claims) would be very helpful. A “detailed view” option, allowing key information to be seen at a glance, would streamline the approval process by reducing the need to open each individual claim. Specifically, seeing if an attachment has been added, with the ability to hover to expand it directly from the main screen, would significantly speed up reviews and approvals.

  11. Analytics Plus - Predictions do not filter based on bank account selection

    When you have multiple bank accounts but only need one selected for cash flow purposes, the monthly predictions that xero has created do not filter out based on the bank account they were predicted from.

    In my example I now have petty cash predictions and interest income from a savings account showing when only the main current account is selected, this messes with the predicted end balance making the cash totally useless

  12. Since the latest Payroll update there seems to be no functionality in Xero to change how the name of the Employee Summary report appears when saved. There are too many _ between words, for example: JoeBloggsPtyLtd-PayrollEmployee_Summary 4 June 2024.

    So frustrating. Bring back the old style PDF format.

  13. When creating a new Bill, and after uploading the invoice then viewing the attached invoice, the attached invoice displays on top of the bill entry form. This is very frustrating.

    Please change to display the attached invoice to the left of the form, same as is the case when opening a draft Bill that was created by emailing Xero.

  14. At the moment, you need to raise a credit note to write off a bad debt, which then records the invoice as "paid" which is extremely irksome, and factually incorrect. There needs to be an actual "write off" option so that the debts don't show up constantly in your reports and you can claim a tax deduction for them, but they don't get recorded as paid.

    Hi community, we appreciate this idea has collected a fair amount of votes and commentary. This has all been feedback and taken seriously by our product teams.

    Currently, there are ways to record a bad debt in Xero, depending on your tax registration status and how you want the transactions to be recorded in your reports - We have help for this on Xero Central you can draw into.

    We don’t have any plans in the near term to expand functionality to develop a button to write off invoices or bills as 'bad debt'. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

    Hi team, while there's not a preset option for end of this month you'll find you can simply type the number e.g '31' into the due date field to populate the date for the current month.

    Toward the end of 2024 we also made some improvements to the calendar picker within new invoicing so you can now easily access the calendar without having to click 'pick another date' which may also help some in the idea here.

  17. When reviewing a payment for an invoice, you need to click 3 times to review the transaction details..going into 4 screens, as it's on a separate screen (1-invoice 2-payment 3-transaction 4-transaction details). It would be more efficient to have the transaction details screen build into the same screen as the transaction screen. I don't see a need for a 4th screen, especially when you have click to go back to the previous screens when investigating multiple payments.

  19. Recent changes have gutted our ability to operate under two distinct business names (Branding) under the same Xero account. Our Xero organization name and address is now included by default (and without the option to hide it) on Invoice emails and on Payment acceptance links. This was previously not the case.

    This completely breaks branding for us, and I'm not quite sure why this change was made. What is the point of having branding at all of we can't control what organization details are provided to the customer? Support suggested I open another Xero account. That's not an option -…

  20. Recently half of the emails I thought I had sent were 'unable to be sent'. I had no idea until I became worried why my usually reliable clients had not paid me on time. After looking I saw this message on the 'History' trail.

    My suggestion is that where an error occurs like this there is a significant error message signal e.g. a box comes up or things are highlighted in red and bold.

    Cashflow is the lifeblood of any business and if the system is unable to send an invoice this could have serious ramifications for Xero clients.
