  1. Restrict users from updating contact details. updating contact details, address and attention field, updates all invoices/bills previously posted for the contact. Not all users should be able to do this function.

  2. Should be an added feature of having the option to set a standard credit limit at the one time for all customers instead of having to enter each one individually. This can be edited for each customer later on.

  3. It would be great to send an invoice to a client to be signed electronically, and on signing, the signed invoice is automatically attached to the invoice in Xero.

  4. It would be really useful if you could give a user permission to be able to reconcile and post bank transactions, but not see the bank balance.

We thank you all for sharing in the idea here, and understand there are many permissions that our Xero customers would like to provide on a more incremental basis. As you'll all know access to bank accounts is available to users with Adviser, Standard or limited access to those with Read Only roles - You can see more of the breakdown in our article here

With much of the teams resource drawn to work on the platform that'll continue to help us with the 'building on beautiful' experience for our customers we want to be upfront that there are no direct plans for altering the user permissions in this space just yet.

User roles and individual permissions within a bank account will be in the limelight once much of the platform upgrades are complete, but this is some way off atm. We'll return to share when there's any…

  5. Make all ledger accounts across the P&L and the Balance Sheet available when incorporating formulas into financial statements. Some KPI's draw from accounts comparing a P&L account with a Balance Sheet account. At present, only accounts in the Balance Sheet can be used to do KPI's within. This is not optimal.

  7. I can see multiple suggestions and several thread over a number of years regarding the need for an SMS feature for both customer communication and invoicing. When are you going to add this? The tech is readily available to you. Many other platforms offer this now. Please prioritize this enhancement! Thanks.

Hi everyone, sending invoices via SMS is now available to all Australian users that have connected Stripe. With great uptake we're now looking to extend this feature, and the next region SMS will be launched to is the US. I'll keep you updated on it's release here. We'll continue working toward making this feature available to more users so any news of other regions will also be shared through this idea.

Just to confirm for everyone here - It's not currently possible to set up send SMS for invoice reminders, to send an invoice via SMS you'll need to open each invoice and select this option from the 3 dot option menu in the top right of the invoice. Developing a more automated means may be something we look to do over time but isn't in the plans just yet.

  8. Hi guys,

It would be great if we could get reminders for customers and suppliers birthdays, this is great for customer relations. Also a reminder for certain documents that might expire at a certain time.

  9. Add a box to payroll for an employee's preferred name, for those who don't use their legal name as their everyday contact, it doesn't need to link to ATO, so no major coding, just be there for reference when contacting the employee. I have several clients with staff that use their middle name or a different version of their first name, that they prefer when being addressed, and it being there in payroll would simplify things.

  10. Subject: Enhancement Request: Superannuation Payment Reporting

    Dear Xero Team,

I am writing to suggest an enhancement that would greatly benefit our operations during tax return preparations. Currently, distinguishing between superannuation contributions paid on time and those paid late is a time-consuming and sometimes confusing process, especially for newcomers. I propose the development of a comprehensive report within Xero that automatically categorizes superannuation payments into 'Paid On Time' and 'Paid Late' based on statutory deadlines. This report should allow users to select specific quarters or custom date ranges, include detailed breakdowns with payment and due dates, and offer export options in…

  11. It shouldn't be so difficult to assign expenses to customers or projects, an expense or spend money item shouldn't need to be edited to add it to a customer or project.
Simplifying this process could be as simple as an extra column that can be enabled on the Account Transactions view and if a transaction isn't assigned to a project or expense then it can be simply clicked in the column and the customer or project selected.
Additionally Bank Rules should be able to include the option to assigned to customers or projects, if we have a client that charges…

  12. Right now it's not possible to remove the Capital Gain line from the disposal journal when the sales price is more than the original purchase price.

This means, that if you have a motor vehicle that you sold for higher than it's purchase price, the Fixed Asset register will not let you dispose of this asset without recording a capital gain - even though motor vehicles have no capital gains tax on them.

This issue needs to be fixed.

Sorry to hear the changes are not to your liking, Oliver. While we won't be changing back I can definitely share any specifics that you'd like to see changed. Can you give me any more detail on what it is about the new look that you don't like?

  14. Within Xero Projects, we would like the functionality to be able to amend the project setting so that we can set the default to non-chargeable for bills and expenses rather then the current automatic % markup.

The current approach means that the project reporting shows bills outstanding when they aren't particularly relevant when you have contractors delivering the work for an agreed price. at the moment we have to go into each category and amend each line item

  16. Recently found out that draft invoices are assigned a number once created, even if they are eventually not approved and deleted.
For accounting reasons in Spain, the numbering on all invoices presented has to be consecutive and the fact that draft invoices are assigned a number from the same sequence causes a problem. So basically if a draft invoice ends up being deleted, then when presenting the invoice list to the tax authorities, there is a number missing, which could cause a problem.
My suggestion would be that the sequence number is not assigned until the invoice has been approved…

  17. A type of tax code should be possible in which the tax is subtracted from, rather than added to, the invoiced amount for that line item.

Rationale: Many countries require that a foreign supplier's invoice be subject to withheld tax if the supplier doesn't have a satisfactory tax treaty entitlement.

    Example:

We use a reverse-invoice process for our Australian supplier to record payments due to them based on our activity. This activity often attracts a royalty fee that we must pay.

The UK requires us to withhold 5% of this royalty fee, and pay this over HMRC quarterly.

    To create…

  20. GST Rec - 2 Simple ideas.

    1. In the GST Rec report you could add drop down dates (as you have in the other reports) so you can easily pick the prior financial year as an option rather than having to pick the dates.

    2. A GST report that showed the late claims that relate to the prior financial year.
