Invoice templates - Ability to edit Title for Prepayments
Invoice Settings - Branding Themes - Prepayment title
Why can't we alter what shows on a prepayment? We have several customers who mistakenly pay us twice for invoices, this is made worse when we send them the prepayments (of the double payments) which say "Tax Invoice" suggesting this is money owing to us. Why can't we change the title to "Credit Note" or similar, so that our customers know that they've overpaid without us needing to manually contact each customer.

AU Payroll - Timesheet quantities
Timesheets - aside from just having an employee enter hours worked against each, it would be good to have a customizable timesheet that other fields could be recorded against the day that are not hours driven. For example - for one day have the employee enter 5hrs of time worked but also another field for a quantity driver - eg; enter quantity of 3. We have one client with a large number of employees that are remunerated via an hourly rate plus a quantity driver. Fixed Asset Reconciliation report - Hide accounts
I would like to be able to hide accounts on the Fixed Asset reconciliation report so that I don't have a page full of Fixed Assets accounts that have no assets attached, and haven't been used for years.

Batch Payment - New Bills/payee's highlighted in Batch Payment Summaries

I review the batch payment summaries for our organization after they have been approved by managers but I would like some further controls - it would be great if there was some indication on the batch payment summary that this was a first time bill payee and/or if Xero could check for duplicated bank account numbers in the batch payment summaries.

Projects - Allow limited-access users to add expenses
we are currently setting up our company so that all employees use projects to keep track of time entries.
however, we have given majority of our employees limited access as they don't need to see much, but it means they aren't able to add their expenses on. Dashboard - Posting Payments/Receipts direct from the Dashboard
When posting a payment /receipt against an "already entered" Bill or Invoice, it would be good to be able to do this from the Dashboard. This link could be added to the "+" on the Dashboard and could take you to a search facility to search for the Bill or Invoice. This would also save time having to search under Bills to Pay and Invoices awaiting payment.

Tracking Summary Report - Allow editing of report layout (e.g. filtering by account code)
The current Tracking Summary Report is quite inflexible. I'm unable to filter by Account Code, edit the report layout, nor save as a custom report. It would be good if this report design could be refreshed to include these features, and to bring the report inline with the newer style reports.

Blank Report - Ability to change layout of rows and columns (e.g Tracking Options and Dates in rows, and Account Codes in columns)
The Blank Report only allows Account Codes in rows. It would be good to have the option to Tracking Options for a particular Tracking Category, and Dates in the rows, and Account Codes in the columns. This would be particularly useful as the current Tracking Summary report is quite inflexible (you can't filter for a particular Account Code, nor edit report titles and labels).

NZ Payroll - Ability to add a description field to pay template deductions
Will it be possible to have "description field" in the Deduction field of the Pay template? That can be changed or updated directly on the pay template. For example, to add the ending date for staff loan deductions.

Auto sales - Ability to find and recode transactions with auto sales tax
This is a known issue that needs to be voted on to be prioritized.
The Auto Sales Tax feature in Xero (from Avalara) disallows the ability to use Find and Recode. This is a huge limitation that will have massive repercussions as time goes on. Please fix this promptly.

Invoicing - Increase the number of billable expenses shown on the selection screen
Xero decided to limit the number of billable expenses one can view at a time when invoicing to 10, as was explained to me, because some organizations have a large number of billable expenses and it taxes the system and slows down the process of invoicing if more than 10 show. The exact opposite effect happens, however. Now, one has to page through dozens of windows to find the billable expense, instead of simply scrolling through 100+ bills. Even worse, there is no way to sort the bills, so the target of the invoice may be on page 36 taking…

We want to be transparent that the change to billable expenses in invoicing was something that we implemented due to lots of feedback that we received, and we don't have intentions on returning to the previous behaviour. On review, we first marked this as feedback based on it being a removal of a new feature, however we will shift this to Not in Pipeline to set expectation.
This means other members will still be able to vote on this idea, and we can track if this is still an idea that trends.

AU Tax - Depreciation worksheets
You can't create a stand-alone worksheet for depreciable assets then feed the figures to a chosen label. Depreciation has to be created within the label e.g. rental worksheet/D5/D1. For assets created within a rental schedule you can print nice depreciation worksheets. For assets created at other labels, you sometimes can't print a nice worksheet and the information displayed at the label is limited. The assets worksheets attached to a rental property in a Trust return doesn't show the cost or acquisition date of each asset.

Expenses | Notifications - Option to choose the type of notification e.g email or in app
Ability to turn off email notifications for submitted expenses to Xero admins. Only started receiving email relating to submitted expenses as of 10th July 2025 but have been told by Xero support that it is an integral part of expense management and can’t be switched off. Have used Xero and expenses since 2019 and have never received an email relating to an expense submission. Am more than happy to continue receiving notifications of submissions via Xero Me mobile app but do not want or require email notifications.

We appreciate the differing needs of our customers our product team have temporarily removed the notification changes mentioned in my previous update - This means this'll reduce the amount of email notification you're receiving from expenses.
We're looking into enabling more controls for expense notifications and I'll come back to share any further news around this with you here.

Contacts - Ability to select a person instead of company name for all instances of use
In nearly every other business program, a Contact refers to a person and not the business name. The person should be the primary entry entered for contact information, and the business name is an attribute to that person, not the person an attribute to the business as it is currently set up in Xero. Stripe - Exclude Surcharge from Stripe Fee Calculation
I was wondering if it was possible to get surcharge not added into the total charge that stripe uses to get their processing fee. I always thought that the surcharge total would be like the money that they took their charge from which is why I added the surcharge anyway. It ends up being that stripe adds the surcharge in with the base charge on the customer invoice and then takes out their processing fee. I don't think that is right though. It should be a way for stripe to only charge their processing fee to the base cost of…

Invoice Template - Allow Multiple Payment Services
It would be great to be able to show two payment services on the invoice template. Currently you can only select one option from the drop down. We offer POLi payments and credit card payments via Stripe but cannot currently display both options using the invoice template. We have to manually select both options on each invoice & this is quite time consuming when issuing a large number of invoices.

Malaysia E-Invoicing - Two columns to show when validated versus viewed
Regarding the Invoice interface on the Sent Column, perhaps can Xero make it into two instead? One is for the Validated E-Invoicing & the other one is for customer. The reason is now, when we send to MyInvoice, every thing has become "viewed" instead. So now I don't know whether my customer did view or not.
I also suggest the MyInvoice under the Sent column, once the e-invoice validated, can it changed to "validated" instead of "viewed"? Like that we do not need to open another tab at the History and Notes to look up for it.

CIS - Editable email templates
Whilst there are some templates in Email settings that we can Edit, it would be great if those that have the CIS add-on can also have the option to personalise the messages sent with the month end statements
