    Hi everyone, while our team considered solutions in this space with other pieces of work planned there is no current development planned for adding a notes or description field within Projects at this time. 

    For now, as you may be aware you can add notes to the History and notes of the individual transactions within a project, or alternatively on the Contacts record. 

    We're continuing to watch this space and will share if there is any progress. 

  4. Ability to show the supplier’s bank account details of payment in the remittance advice.

    Hey everyone, appreciate that this idea's intent is to help save user's time in calculating the VAT, but I wanted to share that it is possible to record partial VAT exemptions, for those who aren't aware. We will continue to to track interest in this idea but in the meantime you can:


    1. Calculate your own your partial exemption adjustment amounts
    2. Enter them as VAT box adjustments on your non-MTD or MTD VAT return

    Alternatively, if you use a set percentage adjustment you could do one of the following:

    • Add a custom Tax Rate for your % rate.
    • Adjust the VAT on each bill to the amount you can claim. Click the + next to the tax rate to do this. (You'll need to use the 'Amounts are' Tax Exclusive option to see it.)

    We recommend you talk to your accounting advisor or HMRC if you need more help with this.

    Thanks for your feedback, everyone. We really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and the needs you've expressed about how auto linking recurring invoices to projects would save time, and give you more insights into project profitability.

    The primary way to link repeating invoice line items to a project is to manually assign them to the project once the invoice has been generated, though we know you're looking for ways to streamline this process.

    We've carefully reviewed all your comments and the strong desire for this functionality, however after much consideration, we've decided that we won't be developing the ability to assign repeating invoices to projects in the foreseeable future.

    Hey community, we understand an option to import Projects is something everyone that's voted on this idea would find valuable, and that this could speed up your workflow and improve accuracy when managing a high volume of projects or migrating from another system.

    While not a solve for all aspects of a project, within the bills side of things we released the ability to upload bills that might reduce the time taken in manually entering data for project related bills, now.

    Being open and honest, we don't have any plans for enabling the import of projects to Xero. We know this isn't the update you're hoping for here, but want to give clear expectation so you can make the best decision for your business.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting the ability to assign files to the project itself. While this isn't something we have planned right now we'll keep tracking the interest through the idea here. 


    To highlight, though not currently available on the Project directly, it's possible to attach files to the individual transactions within a project e.g a Bill, Invoice, Spend money or Expense. i

    Along with this, you may also find it useful to create folders within your Files library where you can collect all files related to a specific project for ease of reference. 

    Understand this isn't the ideal solution, but may help some for now 🙂

    From the Contacts page you can already click the quick link to the official ABN lookup page to verify a number yourself. Our product team have reviewed the commentary here and appreciate that the ability to do this from within Xero would enhance the process, however at this stage there are no firm plans or timelines surrounding this.     Hi community, some time passed since our last update in the thread here we do want to return and share - while our product teams explored possibilities for how we might represent Purchase Orders in Projects research has confirmed that there is underlying work needed to the platform Purchase Orders are built on before we can achieve any good outcomes of your needs here.
    We have enthusiasm and a close eye remaining on the support for this, but want to be honest that this is not something that we’ll be able to focus our attentions on in the near future.
    Once we have completed work first needed in the Purchase Orders space we can reassess how to integrate purchase Orders into Projects and will update you all of steps forward, here.

While our team are considering improvements to Report Templates, currently there are no direct plans for changing the way Report Template fields are updated. We'll continue to keep an eye on the interest of this here, and share if there's any change to this.
