  1. We create contractor bills within Xero as a way to view and track upcoming bills, but we pay them through Gusto. When we make the Gusto payment, Gusto generates its own bill in Xero, leading to duplication.

As a current workaround, we delete the Xero bill once Gusto posts the payment transaction in Xero. At that time, we also attach PDFs of the invoices from the contractors to the Gusto bills.

Can you provide a way to prevent these duplicate bills?

  2. A single button click to re-instate a previous employee, rather than having to re-enter all the information. Particularly useful for example when employing students in college holidays

  3. Show mandate status and progress: In Sage one of the Customer fields is their mandate status. You can see when the mandate was sent, whether it has been submitted, is being processed, is now active or has been cancelled. These are crucial for us. We are finding it very hard to get even a couple of mandates set up due to the way that first invoices are processed (on their invoice date rather than as soon after as practical). Then we have no way of knowing whether a mandate has been sent or is being responded to. It's guesswork. In…

  4. Would be great if Xero could trigger an automated (email and/or text) reminder to the superannuation payment approver 10, 5 and one days out from the superannuation due date each quarter.

A similar reminder feature already exists in XPM for Activity Statement Lodgements - reminders can be turned on.

Xero also has the ability to automate reminders to Customers around bill payment.

Xero has the email and SMS of the superannaution approver already on file.

    Advantage of these reminders:

    • Super gets paid on time - we're all human and life can take over and sometimes things get missed - a…

  5. Hello, across the board of GST xero users, are you able to make a pop up show on a companies Dashboard notifications. That tells them a GST period has ended that they can start working on their GST now, instead of getting notifications late or close to due date.

  7. I've noticed when an account gets a negative balance (such as an asset) that the balance sheet moves it to liabilities. I also noticed that, although I put "Other Income" at the end of the account list (with a account number of 7000) it still shows up in the income section. Proper accounting reports show "Other Income" and "Other Expense" at the bottom of the balance sheet. Additionally, if an asset account gets a negative balance for some reason it should NOT be moved to liabilities. Please fix this.

    Thank you

  8. Profit & Loss report: Show account names on 1 line.

The new report has account names over 2 lines, so makes the report extra long, and not very easy to view on the screen. Analysis becomes less efficient.
Prefer the old version report "look". We were able to see the business at a glance on fewer pages!

Also, the extraction to excel now has merged cells. Have to unmerge and manipulate before using the report. Again less efficient.

  9. Would really like the option to have a second layer to approve leave. I am a HR Manager and find it hard when the manager approves leave verbally and I do not get notified until later. I would like to see the option for HR or Finance to get a notification or get the option to approve prior to the manager so we can manage the employee leave status.

  10. We desperately need NACHA file format for batch payments export file in the USA. This is the Australian ABA equivalent. Second option to that is a CSV file in a format that is accepted by US banks - the current format is not acceptable by their systems, unless we laboriously spend time making adjustments to each payment file in excel before loading it in, and even then it's barely acceptable and prone to human error, which is unacceptable from a control perspective.

No matter which US Bank we use, the CSV file export from Xero does not split the routing…

  11. The contact details / help required for Xero NOT our contact details should be on the first page. It should not be up to us the client to have to read through various lists of things. We should have the ability to immediately send an e-mail or in some circumstances be able to speak with a human being straight away.
A lot of times a two minute phone call will sort something out that takes several e-mails back and forth and this means a lot of wasted time.

  13. When creating subcontractor bills and deducting retention, the CIS includes the retention when calculating the deduction
    For example, XERO should read:
    £250.00
    minus 3% retention (£7.50)
    £242.50
    minus CIS (£48.50)
    = £194.00

    HOWEVER, XERO calculates:
    £250.00
    minus 3% retention (£7.50)
minus CIS (£50.00) (off the gross amount not the amount after retention deducted)
    = £200.00

This means that CIS deduction is incorrect.

There is no way around this currently even though similar issues have been raised since 2019 on Xero discussion threads and no solution has been made.
The only way around it offered by Xero means that payment &…

  14. Hi,

Can I please request that on all customer statements there is a running balance on the side, so that it's easy to add up?

HI team, appreciate not directly within the Customer statement at present and being open we don't have immediate change planned for adding this to the customer statement. However, for the time being you could look to run the Customer Invoice Activity report which has a few more options for the columns and detail shown.

Once you've set up as you like you could save as Custom to make this readily available in your org and export to share externally with a customer/client.

  15. Option to generate a Notice of Electronic Funds document to send to suppliers requiring immediate proof of payment. Said Notice to include:

    remittance date
    name/contact details of remitting party
    amount
reference / description for payment being made
the bank details of both the remitting and beneficiary banks

Not an original idea but I received a notice from a customer. Today I was asked to submit one to a supplier as proof of payment so they could ship out an urgent delivery but I could not provide one. See sample document attached for reference.

Hi Nina, this is something I'd recommend engaging your financial institution or bank about. While you can set up and create a payment in Xero, the confirmation of funds transfer would come at the point the money is paid from your actual bank account to the suppliers bank account.

If your suggestion however is from the Sales side where you'd like to request your own customers provide proof of payment for invoices you send to them perhaps this could be worked into your organisations branding as part of the payment terms

  16. The ability to upload timesheets to Xero using a CSV in the same way you can upload a batch file. This would be useful for clients who use different project management apps / software and where there is no available integration to Xero. This would reduce manual data entry and reduce the hazard of reduce.

  19. This would be particularly helpful for employees who take excessive leave, instead of having to go in to the employee's Leave tab to view, or print screening to provide a report for reviewing.

  20. It would be nice to have a business overview dashboard similar to QuickBooks. The existing Xero dashboard is designed for bookkeepers and doesn’t have any valuable insights for business owners. Perhaps it would be better to have two different tabs on the dashboard, one for bookkeepers, and another one for business owners.

    P.S.
