  1. I would like to be able to 'print' or 'save' a pdf invoice to a folder of my choosing rather than to the default 'downloads'
    Currently ALL downloaded items from the internet are placed in 'downloads' so I need to move the invoice pdf to my chosen folder. It would be a excellent time saver if I could choose my own folder to save to, and have it use this chosen folder each time.

    I believe it is a software bug to rely on the default settings of the users browser to determine where files are saved to.

  2. Under Customers Accounts, File Attachments - Move the View button for the attachment to the LEFT side and keep the Delete button on the RIGHT side of the attachment. NOT next to each other.

    Multiple times, we have accidentally deleted important files from the customer contact account.

    Hi Sherri, thanks for your feedback. I know you started your idea in the Navigation and Homepage forum however this appears to relate to the Contacts page where you attach files to a contacts record.

    I've slightly update the title of your idea and moved this across forums. We will start to get a sense of the interest in this from the community here.

  3. Right now, the dashboard shows "Loading your transactions" for bank accounts far too often and for far too long. The dashboard should always show the current state of the user's accounts, not what is essentially an indeterminate progress bar. It would be more user-friendly to remove the message entirely because it doesn't give users any actionable information. If new transactions come in while the user is doing things, simply update the dashboard to indicate that there are new transactions to reconcile, even if the user just finished reconciling what was there before.

  4. Bills are listed as 'duplicate' even tho they are monthly recurring bills so even tho the amounts are the same, the dates are different. Is there any way of these monthly bills not being listed as 'duplicate'. wastes a lot of time checking.

  5. Would it be possible to add a feature to colour code our chart of accounts - especially expenses? When I am at the petrol station adding a receipt for a fuel purchase, it would be great to scroll down to a colour (with the account number). Another idea would be to have a favourites for expenses - we could add the ones we use most often.

  6. When creating a new invoice, the search scope includes every contact in the database, every vendor, evert coffee shop or gas station anyone ever used a credit card at. Xero knows which contacts are Customers (there's a Customer Invoice report), it should pull from Customers only. For the use case where someone is invoicing someone for the first time, they can open that Contact and then click New Invoice.

  7. Set the calendar to Sunday to Saturday for everything, including Invoices. - Xero recently changed the Calendar for only the invoices. The week day now starts on Monday. I was informed this change was intentional and is currently not going to be changed back. Credit Notes, Recurring payments, quotes, bills, reports, literally everything else has the week starting on Sunday. This is very cumbersome for our business. My staff are constantly putting the wrong date on invoices. We operate at very high speeds because we have a lot of customers come in at a time, and a lot to do…

  9. When we send a W9 request to a vendor via Xero the only way we have to know if they have completed the W9 request is by logging back into Xero and manually navigating to that vendor to check in on it.

    It would be great if admins/bookkeepers could receive a notification when the vendor completes the W9 request.

    Having that email notification of a vendor completing a w9 request would also enable us to trigger other automations.

  10. Hi Xero Team,

    I’m really disappointed to discover that the Xero Mobile App doesn’t provide any way to view the Balance Sheet - a core financial statement that forms half of any set of accounts and is the backbone of understanding a business’s position.

    As a property developer, tracking CAPEX spends per project is critical, and not having quick access to this information on the go is a significant limitation. Even a simple dashboard or quick-glance view in the app would make a huge difference for users like me who rely on Xero to manage their businesses efficiently.

    This isn't something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll get a sens of the interest for viewing the Balance Sheet in the Xero Accounting app from the community here and I'll let you know if there are any plans made.

  11. When emailing invoices with attachments, it would be helpful if we could view attachments, just as a double check.
    At the email stage, we can preview the email and invoice prior to sending, but not the attachment.

  12. The expense reimbursement function should include an option to change the submitter after the request has been sent for approval, rather than declining the request and re-enter just to be able to update the submitter name in case of 'submitting on behalf'

    Additionally, it should allow exporting the entered expenses into an Excel file to verify whether everything has been entered correctly. Currently, exporting is only possible once the request has been approved. This feature is especially important when there are numerous expense lines.

  13. Add reference field for project.
    We do a lot of project work. Our clients will generally have a tender or contract number associated with the project. I need to include this number on all invoices related to the project.

    It would be great to have an optional reference field for each project that, if not blank, would automatically populate the reference field for every invoice created.

  14. From the Files Inbox, there is a way to attach the file to a NEW transaction, but please allow it to be attached to an existing transaction too. This is especially useful when there are lots of files in the Inbox.

    Appreciate why you'd like to be able to attach a file to an existing transaction from the detail you've shared here, Hitesh.

    This isn't possible from the Files inbox atm, however as you may already be across - from the flip side you can attach a file from the Files inbox from within the transaction.

    Do get this means having to go to the transaction to perform what you're asking and we'll get a sense of the interest in being able to attach to an existing transaction from within the Files inbox, here.

  15. On the Xero mobile app it would make life easier for small entrepreneurs who are always on the go to update products purchased and update their inventory from a receipt that they capture on mobile app. This feature is only available from a desktop computer where persons need login from their computer to enter Bills or expenses for the purchases of inventory products. At the moment this is possible through the Sales invoices. Please make it available through purchases as well

  16. It would be great to have a warning pop up when creating a batch payment if a supplier has not been paid in ie 1 year. Recently a Supplier was paid however in the 2 years since they were first added into Xero (and no bills paid since) the business was sold and the bank account changed. Additionally if Hubdoc could read bank accounts and a warning pop up if they differ from that in Xero.

  17. Please update to have the option of removing salary hours on payslips.
    We just need the Gross Salary for that line and not the hours.
    When we have employees working accross different days of the week Xero Payroll round the hours and so in our example someone on 100 hours working 11 days per fortnight, Xero Payroll rounds the Salary Hours to 99.9999 on the payslip which is close but not correct. Currently no workaround for this.

  20. Add a photo to a customer file.

    The companies I work for have over 100 tenants.
    It would be great to be able to add a photo of the tenant for recognition purposes.

    It will make phone and email queries easier.

    The photo can then be displayed next to the customer's name
