    Hi everyone, returning now a few months on from our last update we're going to move this idea to 'Delivered' with the change the team made to default to include a PDF of the invoice when sending an invoice from Xero when using new invoicing.

    We understand there's a secondary need being asked within this one idea that we'd like to continue to gather feedback and support for and have sprung up a new idea for the ability to default include files attached to an invoice when sending from Xero - If this is what you're after please do join and add your support there too.

    A somewhat similar but slightly different need bought up by some is the ability to auto include specific files when sending from Xero - For example Terms & conditions that have been created as a separate file.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your patience. Ability to view bills that have not been assigned to a project is now live to 100% of users.
    To access this feature;

    • Click the 3 dot drop down menu from the Bills list screen
    • Select 'Bills not assigned to projects'

    You'll be taken to a page where you c an select the date range for viewing bills that have not been assigned to a project in your organisation, where you can then edit and assign each bill.
    Alternatively, go to Projects and select Add > Expenses from bill to get to the same screen.On a separate note - taking on your recent feedback I do want to confirm that this feature is limited to Bills at present and does not extend to Sales invoices.

  3. It would be nice if you could flip an invoice or a bill to a credit note of each kind. Sometimes when bringing in data from Hubdoc, a credit note will be pushed as a bill, so if you could basically hit a button to flip it the other way that would be great, same with invoices.

    You may already have seen on this idea, Hubdoc has rolled out support for automatic credit note detection.

    As mentioned by some here, when a credit note is detected by Hubdoc, all you'll need to do is review before publishing to Xero.

    Though there are suggestions for a direct button in Xero, based on this availability through Hubdoc, we're going to mark this idea as delivered.

  4. Provide the ability to directly save invoice as a pdf like it did in classic invoicing, rather than opening it in Chrome and then having to click the download button etc, the old way was more efficient.

    Hi everyone, as of today we have released a change to this process. Rather than opening the PDF in a new browser window, now when you click Print PDF in new invoicing the file will automatically download for you to Print from your device. We thank you for your feedback on this.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your input and joining the conversation on this idea. Bulk voiding bills is in the process of being released to all users. You can bulk void bills from the awaiting payments tab in Xero, selecting up to 200 bills at once 🎉

    If a bill has had a payment applied to it you'll need to remove this before it can be voided. Have a quick look over the video to see how this works. 😊

  6. Why has this been removed? I genuinely can't understand any good reason for doing so from a Xero user perspective. Please reinstate as soon as possible! It is such a helpful, immediate visual tool to be able to qet a quick insight into a client, or suppliers, payment history and patterns of behaviour. It highlights immediately where there may be gaps and is something I (and others in our business) make use of on a daily basis.     Hi all, if you hadn’t already spotted, the Money in/out graph is back 🎉

    It shows the cash in and out over last 12 months, and you can still mouse over the graph to show the actual amounts. The bars now have a minimum size for visibility! In the old graph depending on the difference in cash amounts the smaller bar would sometimes not be visible.

    With this updated version you can switch to a table view that was added for our accessibility users/ those who prefer seeing a table rather than a graph. You can also choose to show or hide the graph entirely, just use the overflow menu above - see screenshot for illustration.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate you engaging with us here and your patience while we got this developed in new invoicing. We have now released the ability to attach a file from your file library, and you'll see this option when you click 'Attach files' at the bottom of the invoice. Thanks

  8. When looking at Bills to Pay that are in Draft, we review the bill and approve. We then end up on the approved/awaiting payment bill screen. To get back to the next Draft bill to pay, we need to select "Bills to Pay" from the breadcrumb nav, then select back onto the Draft tab and finaly select the next bill.

    It would be good to have an option of "Approve" where we can directly go to the next draft bill to manage.

    Now when you're reviewing a Draft bill, you can click the drop-down next to Approve, and select 'Approve & view next', to take you to the next bill instead of returning to the list. Screenshot attached for reference. Enjoy! 😊 

  9. open attached files (especially PDFs) in the current window (same as old invoicing), not in a new tab which is automatically happening with new invoicing.
    is frustrating as you now need to go back and forth between tabs if you want to transpose info from the attachment into the invoice.
    Much more user friendly the old way with a resize-able/move-able viewing window within the same tab

    Hi team, thanks for staying tuned into the idea here for update of files preview. Our team have released a change, and you'll now find when you 'view' a file attached to an invoice this'll now show a side by side view so you can transcribe any detail as needed from the attachment to your invoice. ✨

  10. The new invoicing/quotes is a terrible downgrade for the price fields. It is incredibly strict with regard to numbers that can be pasted. Generally for prices, we are copy and pasting from a spreadsheet or another database. These will commonly have a comma for thousands and a dollar sign. The new quotes/invoices requires these to be stripped out and numbers entered strictly like this > 1111.00. It's a major annoyance and time waster.

    Hi everyone, thanks for contributing and feeding back on this idea. We appreciate the needs in being able to quickly enter data into your invoices and are continuing to build on new invoicing experience.

    With a recent update we've released what you're asking here, and you can now copy and paste numbers that include commas (,), and currency symbols such as $ or £.

  11. In Classic Invoicing, you could copy an invoice to all sorts of things: Invoice, Quote, Purchase Order, Bill. See first screenshot.
    In New Invoicing, you can only copy an invoice to another draft invoice. See second screenshot.

  12. Can the new invoicing template show address like the classic invoicing template does?
    Classic invoicing - Shows company address and the person it is addressed to (Attention:) when viewing the invoicing from our end
    New Invoice - Only shows the company name and to check if the address is correct and if the person it is addressed to is correct you have to click on Edit or download it as a pdf to verify it.

    Hi team, with our latest updates to new invoicing you're now able to see your contacts address if they have one saved when viewing the invoice. 

    Appreciate the question around being able to edit the address and to confirm - you'll find in view mode you can click on the contact to view the contact card. If you'd like to edit the address click the small link in the top right of the contact card. This'll pop the contact open in a separate browser tab where you can edit and add a billing and/or delivery address. 🙂

    HI everyone, thanks for your engagement and support here. I know it's been a while since we updated and I'm pleased to be able to share the improvements we've made to add Invoice Number and Invoice Reference as optional columns to the Project Details report😁

    When you next open the report, use the 'Columns' option to add each of these detail. You'll also find you can now Filter by either option too!

  14. The new Bill view has lost the ability to highlight a certain bill when you tick the box next to it. In the old version if you ticked the box that bill would remain highlighted in grey so it was easy visually to know which bill you're currently working on. This has stopped since the new Bills view has come in. Any chance to can add it back? In the attached screen shot you can see a bill has been ticked but it remains white like all the others in the list.

  16. I can not fine any answer on the web or searching on xero to see if this is possible. I have tried the app but there does not seem to be an option. The xero app would be amazing if we were able to raise a PO. We store product from our supplier and being able to send them a PO at the time of picking would greatly reduce handling of the matter by not having to send an email for it to be raised.     Hi community, thanks for staying tuned with us here.
    For all those on iOS we're pleased to share that this is now live for you all just like Android - you can add Purchase Orders and edit existing Purchase Orders from within the Xero Accounting app.

    There isn't any ability to send from within the app at present - Start a new idea for this, or another feature you'd like to see in the Xero Accounting app. That way we can begin to get a better idea of the appetite of those, too! 

  17. In Classic Invoicing there is an X to delete a line. In New Invoicing I have to click on the 3 dots then select Remove from the 2 options that are displayed (Save to inventory or Remove). Please can the function of a single click on the X be retained.

    Thanks for your feedback and tuning into the idea here, everyone. Our team have been doing a lot of work in this space to iterate on new invoicing and improve the experience for our customers. 

    With one of our most recent updates the team implemented a change to the way you delete lines of your invoice. You'll now see a small 'bin' icon at the end of each line enabling you to easily delete lines as needed, without any extra clicks. 🙂

    Hey community, thanks for all your support on this idea.

    Tax adjustment functionality varies by region, as this idea was raised relating to adjusting VAT in the UK I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered!

    To adjust the tax amount for a line item when creating a bill:

    1. Select the Tax exclusive option in the Amounts are field
    2. Click the + symbol next to the Tax Rate heading to show the Tax amount field.
    3. Edit the amount shown in the Tax Amount box.

    Our Adjust the VAT amount on unpaid transactions support article provides further information on this process.

    We have ideas for this similar option in the AU version here, and another for NZ here that you can follow for updates. For other regions, you’re welcome to create a new idea so we can gauge user need for this.

  19. Ability to flag multiple invoices and update the due date.

    Purpose: It saves users’ time to update the due date in bulk, especially when their customers have some special terms that can change the due date of invoices.

    As part of the latest enhancements with Xero Analytics our insights team have developed this capability within Short-term cashflows! - You can now update the expected payment date of 10x invoices at a time 😊 - See help on Xero Central for more detail

  20. When building custom reports, currently there is no way to add a Date column that updates to match the date range specified when viewing the report.

    This is available on all pre-defined reports, but can not be added as part of a custom report.

    There are many cases where it is desirable to build a report template that can be run for different, user-specified, date ranges, without having to edit the report each time.
