NZ Payroll - Pay rate changes report
It would be very useful to have a report that shows at a glance when each employee last had a pay rise. Like an extra column in the Employee Remuneration Report. Or an audit report that shows the history of pay changes for all employees in one place.

Reporting - Show the statement lines reconciled to each account (income, expenses, assets & liabilities etc)
It would be really helpful if I could produce reports (by various time periods as usual) that list all the bank reconciliations that I have posted to my various accounts that I have created. This is useful for me to check in my book-keeping role to ensure that I have reconciled everything to the correct account, especially before passing everything to my accountant to produce the accounts.
Example:
Does my "Postage & Stationery" account include only postage and stationery bank statement reconciliations?
Does my "Salaries" account include only salary bank statement reconciliations?etc etc

AU Payroll - Ability to see superannuation opening balances
I would love to see superannuation opening balances split into two sections. One flows through to the superannuation payment section to be paid, and the other just remains on the balance sheet. As an example, we have a new client who has not paid any superannuation YTD, we have already prepared superannuation shortfall forms for 2 quarters, and the balance is to be paid this quarter. Reporting - Password Protect option for PDF downloads
SureIy this would be a no brainer??
I'd like an option to download PDFs with a password automatically added.
The password could be added in the company setting pages with the option to download "Protected PDF" when you print a report.
This feature seems so simple to create and i'm not sure why it hasn't been thought of.
This would also save us having to do this manually with every report sent to a client.
Please set this up at it would be a great option for bookkeepers and accountants.

Reporting - Context dependent wording for totals that are a profit or a loss
In Xero financial statements, it can obviously detect whether an item is negative or positive, as you can group items as assets or liabilities based on the value.
Can we get context dependent wording then too? Especially for Income (Loss) type totals?

Invoice - Make invoice templates location available within the sales overview page
Invoice templates should not be in the "settings" but in the actual part where the invoices are, this is product development 101 stuff guys seriously...
Adding/altering/deleting invoice templates should be accessible right from within the sales overview and invoice section. I shouldn't have to google for this stuff, it's really quite terrible.

Report templates - Only show 'Ready to use' in a client organisation
When at the client level and adding a new report to a report pack generated from a Practice level report template currently the reports from the Xero report packs show up as well.

Bank Account - Add "Difference" field to show the actual amount of the difference between statement balance and balance in Xero
On bank header screen where it shows "Statement Balance" and "Balance in Xero" could we have a simple "Difference" calculation to show the actual amount of the difference.
4 votesHi Valerie, while not shown in the Bank header, you can run the Bank Reconciliation report which will show you the balance out by figure. If the Imported statement balance hasn't imported or doesn't match your actual bank statement ending balance, you can enter this yourself at the top of the report and update so Xero will show a calculated balance out by amount.

Bank Rules - Tab and select functions when entering detail
Xero UX designers seem to be under the impression that users want to select accounts by scrolling though a list of 100 entries every time.
You removed the ability to search for the appropriate account by typing the account name when adding payroll categories a while ago. Most recently, you've removed this from the Bank Rules screen without having to use extra clicks.
Anywhere we're supposed to select an account, either tabbing or clicking into the field and typing the name of the account should search for and select the account, as it used to everywhere and as it still…

Projects detailed report - Adjust formatting of expenses in report
The projects detailed report shows the estimated expenses on separate lines to the actual expenses incurred against that estimate. It is a manual process in excel to move the expenses around so that the report can reflect Total estimate less total spent and balance remaining. While this information is available on the projects page, it can't be pulled out as a report which is frustrating.

Purpose: Users can have more variety on how to log in.

While we do already support the ability to unlock our Xero apps with face or touch ID, our team are now working on enabling the ability to log into Xero using passkeys. 🙂

Xero Me | Expenses - Allow time to focus camera when capturing receipts
When using the xero me app to capture an receipt image to upload to an expense, the capture is much too quick, and does not allow enough time for the phone camera to focus. Also it does not support multi receipt capture.

Pre-Defined NET Payment Terms for Invoice Due Date
Most businesses use certain payment terms, like NET 30, NET 45, NET 60, NET 90 days. When invoicing businesses with different payment terms, there should be a faster way to calculate the due date, rather than asking Google "45 days from today" or "60 days from today" and entering that as the due date.
It would be great to create pre-defined NET payment terms as part of the Due Date dropdown in Invoices. That way it would instantly adjust the due date based on the payment term selected for that invoice.

Bank Reconciliation - Available balance including Overdraft
In the bank account settings, add an optional data field to enter in the Overdraft limit on a bank account. Then on the dashboard screen, show the net available balance of current bank balance + the undrawn Overdraft limit.
Purpose - to save the user from having to manually calculate how much is available to make supplier/payroll payments or login to internet banking prior to check.
Should also be a simple feature to add.
