  1. It would be GREAT (ok essential) to have the "Related account" column available here.

A list of transactions by contact at it is, with date,VAT and total amount is ok but a CRUCIAL column is missing.

"Related account" column is crucial/ essenital/ a mist because we often need to check consistency of posting to the correct account, which we cannot do right now.

  2. Where payroll is handled through Xero, please block the ability for client users to post bank transactions to Wages expense account and Superannuation expense account. It is time consuming to recode entries to the Wages payable account and Superannuation payable account. I have told some clients several times to not use the expense accounts but they still do it. If access to the expense accounts could be blocked when payroll is done through Xero, it would save a lot of time fixing the ledger accounts.

  3. Our company's invoicing procedure comprises three steps:
    (1) invoice generation by our own custom software and also pushed to Xero through the Xero API,
    (2) direct debit payments manually added and processed via GoCardless (on their own website, not Xero's integration) for selected invoices, and
    (3) invoice reconciliation in Xero. This process is jeopardized when any alterations are made to the invoices in any of the systems (our database, Xero, or GoCardless), causing inconsistencies and the need for corrective credit notes.

We primarily use our custom software for invoice generation and management (90%) and occasionally create manual invoices in Xero…

  4. I am unable to go through cash coding as I am often required to apply a transaction to a pre set item, as some clients like more of a break down of what a transaction relates to. It would be good if you had an Item tab on cash coding so you can apply those transactions to an item all at once instead of opening each individual transaction up and entering an item.

  5. Quotes need the ability to either show the VAT content or not. Depending on the type of business you are dealing with at the time i.e domestic or Commercial. Generally domestic clients want to know the total cost including tax (VAT) whereas on a Commerical clients are not bothered as it is generally assumed or stated plus VAT.

  6. To be able to see a proper transaction report of either outstanding or all transactions from the contact screen. All it gives you at the moment is a list of invoices and notes etc with no structure. If you could get a transaction history from that screen and an aged breakdown it would be really helpful, which you could download, without coming out of there and having to go to reports. It's so frustrating.

  7. It could be useful to export the chart of accounts with current and last financial year balances including zero balances to see which account codes are not in use. Helping to simplify chart of accounts.

  8. When a company changes their payroll frequency to a new calendar there is no prompt to adjust the leave accrual.

For instance, I recently changed my client from Fortnightly to Monthly Calendar.
I adjusted each employee to the new calendar.

On their Leave tab in the set-up of the leave accrual it asked the question:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Fortnightly pay period
When I changed the calendar to monthly this question changed to:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Monthly pay period
There was however no prompt to adjust the answer, the previous answer just transferred…

  9. See card number when reconciling

There is no longer a card number on the bank statement line when reconciling.

This was really useful as we have multiple business cards connected to the same account and we need to know which employee made the transaction (which we identified through the credit card number)

  10. Currently in Payroll History you can filter activity by Type and select 'Employees'.

This is too broad to be able to easily pick up bank account changes. eg for 1 month there are 959 entries over 4 pages (which need to be manually clicked to load).

The entries have the type of 'Employee: Bank Accounts'

    Features requested ;
    1) Add a 'Subtype' filter for Employee events; of which 'Bank Accounts' should be an option.
    2) Add ability to Export the report to PDF from initial screen without having to load all the other items.

  12. Send or transfer files from the file library between organisations

We have multiple organisations and it is easy to get emails mixed up with files being sent to the wrong organisation. It would be super useful if files could be transferred from one organisation to another directly from the file library.

Rather than now, we have to click the right button to go to next month.

  15. "Days paid" on timesheet defaults to number of days loaded in "Salary & Wages".
It needs to be overridden to actual days worked for the week when a timesheet is approved. Many staff work more or less days than the average and changing each one manually is incredibly cumbersome and has a huge margin for error

  16. Where recurring bills relate to monthly charges, invoiced on a daily rate, can a feature be set up so that the number of units automatically defaults to the number of days in the month of billing?

  17. Bill Due Date

At the moment the due date can't be set as prior to the bill's actual date. We self-bill a lot of customers on a monthly basis, but pay them on 27th or the last working day before then. We would like to set the bill date to the last day of the month, but can't.

  20. With the current financial climate, employees are suspending their KiwiSaver contributions. The Inland Revenue (IR) allows the Employer to continue with the company's contribution voluntarily.

At this stage, it is not 'officially' possible for the employer to contribute to KiwiSaver if the employee is on a Savings Suspension in Xero.

The employee is on a Savings suspension, then the company cannot contribute either. Also, when on a savings suspension Xero requires an expiry date, IR does not always provide a date; instead, advising us when to recommence the KiwiSaver.

If the employee's KiwiSaver is kept active their contribution cannot be…
