AU Payroll - Search for Employees within a Draft Payrun
One of my clients has hundreds of employees and at present when processing an unscheduled pay run, I have to keep clicking through the pages to find the employee. It would be so much quicker to be able to search for an employee within the Draft Payrun to then select to add.

Dashboard - Show Bank Feed expiry date
Can the bank feed expiry date be shown on the dashboard or perhaps in the bank account screen rectangle for each account. It is a frustrating task to have to repeatedly contact clients to update this .... and worse they tend to blame Xero for the functionality rather than GDPR
4 votesThanks for showing your interest through product ideas. It'd be good to get more understanding of what seeing the expiry date of your bank feed on the dashboard would help you achieve? And, how you feel this will benefit your workflow.

NZ Payroll - leave requests and approval while processing pay runs
Currently leave requests must be approved before the relevant pay run is commenced.
If we discover that leave needs to be added at any point after the pay run is commenced, the entire pay run must be deleted, along with any progress made.
When processing payroll for businesses, I occasionally discover leave should be included only while I'm actually processing the pay run.
I'd like to have a clone of the leave creation UI as an option while within the pay run process itself. This would show leave balances for the employee, and only have an option to Approve or…

Reporting: Executive Summary - Option to exclude accounts
In the executive summary report, could there be an option to exclude certain accounts similar to the business snapshot report. For example I would like to exclude the distribution of profit accounts in partnerships as this shows a false profit of $0.
Also can the variance also be expressed in a $ value in audition to the percentage value.
Apart from that Loving the reports

Manual Journals - Ability to see draft without having to click on the tab
It would be useful in the manual journal screen if it indicated there were draft manual journals without having to click on the tab. When using repeating journals which are saved as draft each month you have to remember they are there to attend to.

Xero Expenses - Allow one off expense claims without purchasing the "Expenses" subscription
Allow casual, one off, expense claims WITHOUT needing to purchase the "Expenses" subscription.
I am the treasurer of a Men's Shed and, occasionally, members use personal funds (either card or cash) for Shed expenses, generating an expense claim. These are rare, usually one off, and might not occur again.
Could an exception be allowed for this, within the software, that would allow a one off expense to be recorded? This could then then trigger the need to purchase the "Expense" module if that person had any future expense claims within, say, 12 or 18 months.

AU Payroll - Set Multiple Pay Cycles for the Same Employee
Include the ability to set multiple pay cycles for the same employee. For example, wages are paid fortnightly but commissions are paid monthly. The dates are not aligned with the period if we use only one pay cycle.

Bank Reconciliation - Easily match ‘planned bill payments’ in bank rec
When you have a bulk bill payment as one line on the bank rec, it would be useful if within the ‘match’ tab you could easily bring up the bills with a specific planned to pay date. Rather than having to search for each bill/supplier from a separate list.

Invoice - Make invoice templates location available within the sales overview page
Invoice templates should not be in the "settings" but in the actual part where the invoices are, this is product development 101 stuff guys seriously...
Adding/altering/deleting invoice templates should be accessible right from within the sales overview and invoice section. I shouldn't have to google for this stuff, it's really quite terrible.

AU Payroll - 3 weekly pay calendar
This is needed to accommodate a 2 week on 1 week off cycle.

Batch payment - default sorting
When doing a batch payment and get to the last screen, why does Xero not default to sorting by supplier name and inv/ref - at the moment it sorts randomly which is annoying and then you have to edit the batch to sort correctly so remittances and the batch PDFreport make more sense

Ability to navigate differently through customer contacts.
Be able to switch to the next contact without having to return to the list of contacts. If you do need to return to the list of contacts, return to the same contact rather than to the top of the page and have to scroll down to reach the next contact.
Be able to see a list of contacts, showing which groups each contact belongs to at a glance. Who are donors, who are equine related, who attend camp, which are organizations/business/church, who take lessons

Batch Payment - Export payment file into FNB format (South Africa)
Please allow us to update the batch payment export file for FNB in South Africa. The current export file does not have all the fields needed by the bank.

Contact - Ability to customise columns on Contact Activity
On these top level menu layouts, like Invoices, Bills and Contact Activity list we really need to be able to add/remove columns. Eg. to see the net total for each Bill/Invoice, not just the gross amount including VAT.
We use these menu layouts a lot, and have to copy and paste to Excel when we want to send that data, because there seems to be no export on Xero that can produce a neat one row per invoice layout. The exports produce a massive report that displays every row from every invoice - not much use.
Having the ability to…
3 votesAppreciate your feedback, Maggie. However it is unlikely that this change would be made across all areas of Xero at once. It would help to get an understanding of the desire for this in each area to share with our product teams.
We have an existing idea for customising columns in the Invoices list, and one around the ability to view total and tax amount columns in the bills list that I have added your vote to, and I have adjusted your idea here for the customisation of columns in the Contact Activity. If there is any progress for each of these we will update on the respective idea. Thanks

Sales>Quotes | Bug | Amount is defaulting to 0.00 when columns 'Quantity' and 'Price' are hidden
Our business provides lump sum quotes. While we list individual products/services for clarity, we do not show a cost per item (row). As a workaround - we hide the 'quantity' and 'price' columns however we still use the inventory item feature to automatically import the individual product/service. We then include a row at the bottom of the quote with the lump sum, account & tax rate.
Problem:
When the 'Quantity' and 'Price' columns are hidden via quote settings, the 'Amount' column incorrectly displays 0.00 when a product is selected from the 'Item' column. If the item is manually typed in…3 votesHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. We'll be in touch soon to update you once your idea has been reviewed.

NZ Payroll - Filter Payroll Reports by Tracking Category
The problem:
Xero Payroll does not currently allow reporting by Tracking Categories (e.g. by location, cost centre, or department). While Tracking can be applied to invoices and expenses, payroll reports (Pay Runs, Pay History, Payroll Activity, etc.) cannot be grouped or filtered in the same way.
For businesses with multiple locations under a single entity, this means payroll costs cannot be easily allocated to the correct branch. At present, the only workaround is to export payroll reports to Excel and manually tag employees, or rely on journal postings into the P&L.
What’s already set up
Employees can already be allocated…3 votesHey Timothy! It's great to see ideas like this from the community, thank you for posting it. UK Payroll - Split tax across weeks when processing holiday pay in advance
I have moved a clients payroll from Sage to Xero. They have weekly wages and pay holiday in advance. In Sage it would calculate the week wages plus week holiday to allow for the tax free allowance for both weeks. In Xero the tax is higher in the week and the following week when a payrun of zero is processed then a tax refund would show to compensate. Is Xero able to replicate this process in Sage.

After reviewing your suggestion for adjusting the tax calculation for advanced holiday pay in UK Payroll, we've now made it visible so it can gain support from other community members. It’s now ready to gain votes and comments from fellow Xero users who might find this useful.

New Search (magnifying glass) - Results of invoice status are no longer coloured!
In search since I've used Xero, when searching for an Invoice Number - results would appear and a coloured box with the status - red for Awaiting Payment, and green for Paid. A handy visual meaning I didn't have to actually read the status.
Now in the new Search - these colours have disappeared. Why? I now have to scan up and down and actually read what it says without my visual guide. Xero keeps making changes to make things harder to use, and any suggestions I follow to make things easier for users, even really simple quick fixes, are…3 votesHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. AU Payroll Pricing - Reinstate Payroll Add-on
Re-instate the option to pay for additional people on payroll without having to jump subscription tiers.
As a small business, every dollar counts, having to jump $25/month or $40/month to add a person to payroll hurts, especially when the additional features are unnecessary.
The UK has already reinstated this option, it should be reinstated here too. (Not entirely sure why it wouldn't be other than the fact not as many people would have offered feedback here in AU comparatively to UK.
In a capitalistic world, it would be nice to see you on the front foot Xero, show your care…
