  1. When adding or editing a contact, I always enter their address.

    Xero has this great feature that allows searching for addresses, and that's wonderful!

    ...except it's arbitrarily limited to only search addresses in the country the Xero org is registered in; a US Xero org only offers autocompletion for US addresses, for example.

    In this modern, international, remote-friendly age, the notion of only having domestic clients is a little silly– especially when paying for a Xero tier that supports multiple currencies.

    So: being able to search/autocomplete international addresses when editing or adding contacts would be a great addition.

  2. When paying bills using Crezco use the "Details" field from the Supplier Contact / Finance as the payment reference.
    For instance if a supplier has given us a unique ID on there system as "DME002" use this reference in the payment field when doing Crezco payments.
    FYI. It used to be this way with Wise payments? but has now changed as we move over to Crezco?

  3. Not a major one but I feel the whole online site needs a facelift.
    Information is not given in an easy to process way and this can make navigating the program more complicated than it seems to be.

    I recently transferred over from MYOB and where I feel the general program of Xero is better for ease of reconciling etc. some tasks can feel super overcomplicated and difficult to carry out due to poor layout and outdated visuals.   4. Add a 'Projects' column to Bills rather than having to click 'Assign expenses to customer or project'.

    As a company who have many projects that are a similar (or the same) name as a customer's company name, the current process results in expenses being assigned to a customer and not the project!

    A 'Project' column has been added in the new invoice template so PLEASE add one to the Bills as well!!

  5. It would be good for the lower scroll bar to display when a screen is minimised (in contacts). Currently, if you minimise the screen (as I do when I am comparing entries in another external on-line tab, for example, with my HMRC account, or my on-line bank account) you can only see the left of the minimised screen. The information does not compact into a full but smaller screen, neither is there a scroll button to scroll the information to the right. I own several different businesses that are set up as separate organizations within xero, but they are all in the same industry and there is quite a bit of crossover of contacts between the businesses. As I understand it currently, each business will have its own unique address book, so if I update John Smith's phone number in Company A, it will not update in Company B. This makes no sense to me. There should be a universal contact book where we can select whether or not we want a company to use that universal set of contacts.

  7. at the moment in the new invoicing system, if a price is deleted from a line and not replaced with 0.00 it is not automatically zero'd out so the the line total remains what it was before the price was removed. should automatically update as soon as the number is removed.

  8. Reconciliation - when you have multiple payments of the same amounts over several days... Always selects the Invoice to the newest payment.. even tho the invoice date is the same as the first payment? seem like the system allocates backwards?.. We get lots of the same payments and Invoice totals and we have to always manually select/search for the invoice as the Auto reconciliation seems to not factor in Invoice date to Payment date as an option.

  9. So far I know Xero only have features of sending overdue invoice reminder to customers, but in absence of the feature I mentioned. This feature is good for the operation.
    The invoice overdue days could be set by us and automatically send the notification to our preset email address once the overdue day came. So that, our customer services staff can easily be notified all the overdue invoice and doing their followup tasks.

  10. A company we work with here in UK was recently a victim of an elaborate but simple fraud, resulting in the loss of around £5,000 from the payroll.

    The scam went like this:-

    1. Scammer fakes an email to HR from an employee requesting the bank details for their salary be changed.
    2. HR fails to spot the "EXTERNAL EMAIL WARNING!" and forwards this email to the person who updates the payroll. They also didn't spot the fake email address, or double-check with the employee.
    3. Bank details for the employee are updated in the payroll and bank payments.

    Thanks for your idea here, Rob. I've made sure to share this back with our Payroll product team. We appreciate your desire to prevent fraud, however there are also employee laws that implicate this process. It's something we're keen to track demand in here, but want to be upfront that there are no immediate plans for developing this.

  11. Right now it's not possible to run the statements for a contact having different currencies. The statements will show the outstanding amount owed according to the default financial setting currency of the contact. It would be nice if we invoice a customer in different currencies to be able to produce one statement showing the balance even if it convert the other currencies to the default currency. Or produce different statements selecting the different currencies each time without having to go change the default currency in the contact each time.

  12. When I review payroll I want to know if the employee is casual, part-time, full time or contractor.

    I want to know the typical hours worked in the payslip cycle so as to determin whether overtime entitlements apply.

  14. A number of my client are service businesses and as such all of the payroll costs should be posted either to a Cost of Sale account for Operational staff or Overhead for support staff. I can achieve this for all costs except for Employer NIC cost, which has to be manually moved. It would be beneficial if the NIC could go to an NIC GL dependent upon the type of basic pay chosen.

  15. A while ago before an update, when working on a set of accounts in Blue Xero, there was an option to 'highlight text' from the main screen of the report, but this was changed to make it so you had to go to 'edit layout' in order to be able to highlight text yellow.

    It would be so great if we could have this feature back on the main page as it was so much more user friendly. I would suggest in the area next to the bold/italics/underline/bullet points area which is where it used to be.

  20. When a client changes from GST registered to no longer GST registered - It would be greatly appreciated if all the rules changed to BAS Exc like it does in Chart of Accounts. Young clients shop everywhere and therefore there are hundreds of rules to edit.
