  1. The item code on the New invoicing shows much smaller that it was on the Classic Invoicing. Example attached shows how much harder it is to read. Can this be enlarged?

  2. In old invoicing, when you used Copy and Merge into a new invoice, it kept each of the original invoice's items together in order, including the first line description. In the new Invoicing, it groups together all of the like items from each invoice which is incorrect. This needs to be addressed.

    Hi Lisa, it'd be good to get a closer look at some of the invoices you've copied and merged from and to, so we can get a better look at what's going on for you here.

    I've just tested creating invoices with Copy and merge from the list view using the same inventory items, however these are created as separate lines on the new draft invoice.

    If you can raise a case with our team of specialists through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of this page, they can get more detail to investigate and confirm.

  3. It would be wonderful if there is an option where employees can add R&D work hours in timesheet where the employers can filter the R&D hours separately for each employee

  4. It would be very helpful to set default account codes and cost centres for recurring monthly expenses. Currently, for a monthly subscription, we have to manually create a new expense and enter the Expenditure Type, Project Codes, and Account details each time—despite these remaining the same every month. Could you please enable the option to configure these cost centres directly through the Contact, so they automatically populate each time? This would greatly reduce the administrative burden.

    This is for the web, not phone app.

  5. New Invoicing - have the document name of invoice include who it is from.

    PDF will show INV-02335OrangeCross.pdf
    INV-[inv number]_[organization ref max 10char].pdf

    Great for me as an exporter of invoices but more importantly as an importer

  6. Move the "add last items" in the invoicing screen. Half the time the Billable items button comes up first in its place, but then moves to a lower point on the screen. The problem is if you click on it before it moves to the lower point on screen or just as it does, you end up with the last invoiced items on the invoice that you don't want.

  7. It would be useful to be able to pay invoices in bulk through a designated accounts (which is not a bank account) in the event for example of invoice financing.

    Currently we need to go in each invoice and enter the payment details if this is not going through the bank account.

    The approach could be similar to the batch payment on the "Bills to pay" side.

  8. Whenever I enter an invoice for a new customer, which is quite often, it always annoys me that the 'Add new contact' pop-up doesn't have postcode search in it.

    So I end up adding a contact and their email, saving then going into contacts in a new tab to complete their address from their postcode.

    Just add lookup to the contact details in add quote/invoice/etc wherever there is a postcode field.

  10. Banking Feed Login - Direct Xero Notification

    I receive direct notifications from my bank platform when my business account is being accessed. Having the bank account linked to Xero is functional, but creates some security anxiety as I receive notifications from the banking platform about a login and then need to check if it is Xero. A direct notification - or even just email notification - from the Xero app would be helpful to cross reference and know that the specific login is Xero and not a security threat. I have searched quite extensively but haven't found this option.

When a client changes their GST taxable periods (e.g. 2-monthly to 6-monthly filing) they often need to file a return for a non-standard number of months to align with their balance date (e.g. 4-month GST return). It would be nice to be able to change the GST period settings in Xero to allow for the non-standard GST return to be filed directly from Xero.

  13. It would be great to have an option to run a sales report by item which includes draft invoices, delivery dockets, and purchase orders as well.

    For example, I tried to run a sales report on qty of each product sold for the financial year to date and realised this information was inaccurate as we had sold a significant qty as draft invoices (using draft invoicing in lieu of delivery docket functionality), these products were not included in the sales report.

  14. A few things I've noticed that annoy me that I think could be tweaked;

    • Duplicate bills screen is a complete waste of time in its current state. Either change the parameters for what flags as a duplicate (ie - if it's the same amount, it should also be the same date, or check for duplicate reference numbers attached to the same supplier). Also give the option to ignore all duplicates from certain suppliers or if something appears, an option to never remind for this supplier & amount again.
      Also there's a button to provide feedback that doesn't work.

    Have you heard of Find and recode, Wade? This could possibly assist with what you're asking here. As the changes made using this tools aren't reversible it is restricted to users with the Adviser role, and we highly recommend trying it out in the demo company before using in your own.

    Alternatively the best way to make changes to the bill would be to remove the payment, Edit, then reapply.

  16. Ability to add project financials rerporting into an advisor template report

    Being able to build a management report template that includes project financials seems like a no-brainer. but you can't do it at template level. You have to start with the existing template for a managmeent report and build a report from scratch for each client.
    You can't even take an existing template and add in a project report.

  17. Currently, when filtering expenses by name, the settings reset to default each time an expense is opened and closed.

    Please update it so that the filter settings remain active, eliminating the need to reapply them for each expense viewed.

  18. Insert a Notes section on the Bills You Need To Pay screen.
    For example, I can enter a due date, planned date etc .. but a section for Notes that can include a little reminder for example "confirm A123456 has been delivered"

  19. Add new field to able to classify or tag suppliers and contacts by category/type for easy searching and reporting e.g. recruitment, employees, stationary, legal, Government. This would really help with our procurement procedures.

  20. I think being able to connect a barcode scanner to xero to allow users to create a new invoice and scan items to have them appear as line items would be very beneficial to many customers. A lot of people use xero to resell items and if i could create a new invoice and instead of manually type everything, to just scan the UPC and have the item pop up would help prevent human errors
