  1. Since we ultimately want to see how much each employee is spending and since employees must be set up as a contact - We should be able to link the employees User Id to their contact. This way all the expenses submitted will show up as spend money transactions under the contact for each employee.

    Obviously right now the employee could choose themselves as the contact when they submit the expense report but more often than not, they will not.

    Having the contact linked to the user id will be particularly helpful for reconciling credit cards since the contact info…

  2. Would be great to have a "Disable" button for checked/selected Bank rules on the bank rule page, rather than only a "Delete" button. Sometimes staff want to turn them off but we don't want to delete them.

  3. It would be great if there is a way to quickly view all the pay runs for a specific employee, without the need to go through 'Pay employees' under the 'Payroll' section and opening every pay run individually.

  5. Once you approve the purchase order a pop up or a drop down on the approval button to be able to select 'approve and send' automatically, our organization doesn't require higher management approval to purchase, I enter and send immediately..

  7. During the creation process, we should be allowed to update all fields necessary on the Contact record.

    Example I have at the moment is one of my customers needs to set their clients details within Xero so they can invoice them correctly. At the moment we can't use the API to set the Website field.

    From your idea it sounds as if you'd like employees to be able to submit timesheets with start & end times and different earnings rates, Nathan? This isn't possible atm.

    However, an option here where you're dealing with multiple earnings rates for an employee is to get them to submit timesheets using the 'Total hours worked'. This'll let them;

    • record the number of hours worked per day, including partial hours
    • record time spent at different earnings rates and tracking categories if used.

    Your employees may need to edit the timesheet setting, by opening Xero Me, going to Timesheets > Settings and selecting 'Total hours worked'.

  9. When looking at the Pay Run / Pay Run History page, please add number of employees in each pay run to the overview. We report on this each pay period and would make more sense to be shown here then having to click into the pay run or

  10. Currently Xero is set up to nil off both the Employer NI Expense GL and Liability GL as soon as payroll is run because employers NI contribution is always setoff against HMRC allowances.

    However, it is important to have employers NI contribution cleared only when remittances are made to HMRC and when HMRC send allowances (which is always a month accrued). The allowances are setoff against the employers NI expense GL.

    This treatment will allow the accountant to respond to remittances made to HMRC in terms of employers NI and allowances received from HMRC accordingly.

  12. Unlock Accts Receivable and Accts Payable GL accounts. Currently unable to enter AJEs that require it. Even our auditors are asking why we cannot do this in Xero as with other accounting systems. Previously Xero responded by saying it's an account integrity issue...but accounting is an integrity issue! Too many hours wasted trying to work around this (and please don't suggest creating another account, as in Accts Rec 2)

  13. Hide or Archive System Accounts when not needed. We are a Cash Accounting based business so have no A/R, A/P, or other accounts related to Accrual Accounting. I
    It would be most useful to tidy up our chart of accounts to be able to hide the system accounts related to Accrual Accounting so that they don't clog up our reports etc.

  14. Ability to add a planned payment date to a bill from the "All" tab in. It is very frustrating that if you are in the all tab in the bills to pay section and you want to add a planned date to a bill, you then have to navigate to the awaiting payment tab and then search again for the bills you want to add a planned date to.

    Further, there is actually no need for an awaiting payment tab. We should be able to filter on the All tab for the view of bills we want to see.

When you are entering a Bill to Pay, the Creditor bank account number that you have stored on their contact comes up as a window at the top, so you easily compare with the bank account number with the bank account number on the invoice. This can prompt you to check if the bank account number has been changed and you can make a phone call or follow your company guidelines regarding changing of bank account details to avoid Cyber Crime.   17. The mobile app currently does not ask you to confirm your password when you setup a pin for your account. If you were to miss-enter your pin, which is easy to do, you essentially immediately lock yourself out of your account. The system should ask for a pin, then ask you to confirm the pin before finalising it, allowing you to go back a step if you enter in the wrong pin.

  20. SAVE FOR LATER section within the Reconcilation page
    We should be able to add a transaction to the top of the list to a section that doesnt scroll, another tab or click a button to change its colour to signify it is now in a special section for 'saving for later'.
