It would be good if you can amend the layout on a payslip from portrait to landscape. Anyone else have the same thoughts?

Bills - Approve when importing bills
While importing bills from QB in bulk, it would be a great time-saver if Xero could automatically Approve the bills while being imported. Currently they go to the Draft folder.
2 votesHi Dan, if you're a Xero Partner you could look into using the Conversion toolbox when setting up a clients org which'll allow you to import invoices and bills as any status.
Otherwise, via a normal import to an organisation bills will always import with as draft. You'll be able to bulk approve imported draft bills from the list view of the Draft tab - select all the bills you'd like and click the Approve option

Report preferences - Ability to set Comparison periods
Report preferences need more details, eg Comparison periods (to the Date or to the period), apply to custom reports, Apply to Users rather than to Organizations.
2 votesGreat to hear you find the Report preferences handy, Andrew. So the team can get a pulse of what they should expand this feature to next, it's good to have a separate idea for each new element you'd like to see developed into this. I've slightly amended the title of your idea to reflect Comparison periods, but you're welcome to start new ideas for the other elements you'd like to set blanket application of. Thanks!

Account Transactions Report - Running Balance calculation
Currently the Account Transactions Report calculates Debits minus Credits which means a positive Running Balance shows in brackets and a negative Running Balance shows without brackets. This is totally contradictory to the usual accepted Accounting Rules. Can this be changed so that the Running Balance is calculated as CREDITS MINUS DEBITS please ?

Contacts List - View if a contact has a CIS verified status
It would be productive to see if a contact is registered for CIS/verified and their status on the contact account page - where the group info is listed.
Otherwise the only way you can see this info is by clicking edit the contact. And include a signal/sign on the contacts page next to each CIS registered contact so that they can be identified easily.2 votes -
Quotes - Attach PO to approved quote
PO to approved quote. My customers want to add their PO number and possibly an attachment upload to an approved quote when they select approve on the link. This should be very simple to fix. Also, then this would give us more capabilities in the approval process by allowing documentation to be added to the quote directly from the customer. This way it will tell me when I invoice them what PO was on the order. Also, they were asking for a place to put notes as well. They have notes on a reject but not approve.

UK Payroll - Filter Gross to Net report for actie employees
Gross to Net report - include an function/option where it is possible to only run it for current employees without having to manually select each person.
We typically run it each calendar month and while we are still a smallish team there is a risk that someone will be excluded/included that should not be when manually selecting the names and will not be sustainable as our business grows.2 votes -
Branding - Edit templates using Google office suite
Invoice branding is only possible using Microsoft. Would it be possible to make this happen using Google OS also?
I know there are hundreds of millions of Google users worldwide many of which will be Xero users since your software is excellent software. Thanks for listening.

Credit note - Ability to set an expiry date
Hi all!
I'm a one man band IT business, and I've just started being put on retainer by a company which is great, however I'm finding accounting for the retainer to be a bit burdensome.
Currently, my plan is it add the retainer's ammount as a credit note at the beginning of the month, and then somehow nullify any remaining credit at the end. However, I was wondering if it would be possible to add a way of managing retainers separately and more efficiently from credit?
Or even just having the option to add an expiry date to a credit…
2 votesGreat to hear how you're currently using Xero with Credit Notes to manage this process for yourself, Joseph. I've slightly amended your idea for being able to set an expiry for a credit note as it's quite unlikely that we'll look to create a completely new feature for managing retainers.
Having a quick look at some of the other ideas raised in community, it looks like some people maybe using SimPro as a means to manage these, alternatively you could explore apps in the ecosystem that may meet your needs. 🙂

Invoice Payments - Reverse bounced payments without removing from Accounts Receivable
Occassionally a debit order fails/ bounces after a considerable amount of time, after the receipt has already reflected on a customer statement. In this case, I should be able to reverse the receipt without removing it from the Accounts Receivable account.
For example, a debit order runs in March and bounces several weeks later in April, after the customer has received a statement.
E.g. end of March they receive a statement showing
Opening Balance 0
Invoice 100
Receipt -100
Closing Balance 0When the receipt now bounces in April, their next (April) statement should begin with what the closing balance…

Invoicing - partially copy invoice
Hi Community, we need to have the option to copy part of the invoice when we are doing it, and then, copy that on the same invoice we are working, many times we need to invoice the same things to the same client but separate it by levels or offices into the same invoice, we can save a lot of time with this function when we are writing a big invoice.

Find & match | Bank fee - Allow multiple contacts for adjustments
Allow multiple contacts for the bank fee adjustments. When we have a number of customers paying via card in one day it automatically pays the full amount of the payments into our account the following day but each customer has a bank fee and it would be helpful to add this for each customer.

Bills | Multi-currency - Show total amount owing at date bill raised
On a multi currency company it would be better for the total amount showing due matches the balance of all bills as per the date they were raised.
It causes confusion for clients when they pay a supplier, they usually just check total owed against the contact, if it's fluctuating to reflect exchange rates this means they may under or over pay the actual original bills.2 votes
