  1. We recently converted from Quickbooks Desktop and are trying to reproduce a "Sales by Customer" Report that is sorted by gross invoice amount. In Xero, I can click on the column header to accomplish this, but when I save the draft report or export to PDF, the sort order is not maintained. I would like the ability to change the report format to maintain the sort order after saving.

    Thanks for confirming, Paul and apologies it's taken a little time to round back to your message. We have another idea that you may like to join for filtering the report by contact group.

    With the request around bad debts - is there a particular way you are handling these in Xero atm?

    Potentially adding Payments/Credits column to the report will help with this? This way when you run the report you could then re-order by the Payments/Credits column to view those that have paid the most > least.

  3. This is a glitch in the new reporting update from last year and I am surprised it has not been addressed yet. I run a monthly report on invoices paid from the prior month to determine commissions. I would use an Account Transaction Report for invoice totals.
    The current reports offer you to choose the invoice number as an option, but invoice number does not show up on the report - reference number does- but if the invoice number is not in the reference field all that shows up is 'ach'

  7. Please could you allow us to restart the timer for a time entry that has been saved. Sometimes I have to come back to the same "sub task" (sorted by description) after a few hours and I don't want to type out the same description again. Nor do I want to create a brand new task for something that would be part of the same task, but have a slightly different note to it.

  8. Due to timing issues on when Stripe collects funds vs. when Stripe pays them out, we end up with transactions on our bank reconciliation after the period is closed. I know I can delete the bank statement line and import them with a current date, but it's an issue as our accountants run reports to upload into another system, and I never know if these transactions have been captured. Plus, to delete transactions, we have to open the prior period, which is problematic as we try to avoid that as much as possible.

  10. For users with Invoice Only access, they currently can only use the 'Receipt' option to add expenses via the mobile app, not via the desktop site version.
    Would make sense to have the same options for same access regardless of what device is being used.

The Xero Dashboard online is great for reconciling daily transactions however, there is no way to give administrators access to just the dashboard in Xero without seeing further private company information. If there was an API to the dashboard, developers could choose to show or hide other confidential information from administrative staff

  16. We get funding to pay for staffing overtime. Would be great if we could create a specific overtime to come out of this funding pot. Then we'd be able to see how the funding has been spent and provide evidence that we've used the money for extra staffing.

    1. depreciation schedule present by monthly - can show each month depreciation
    2. inventory xero function - not good for SG country
    3. export report, GL - kindly include the attached document together when export out. so we don not need save another document in our server. every doc can view via xero software.
    4. phone apps - xero - not much thing can do. just for upload purpose. not good enuf. at the end we still need use laptop to do the job.

    Hi Wendy, thanks for sharing your feedback here. So that other users can understand your idea and vote for it, it's better to keep to one suggestion per product idea. It also helps us accurately gauge interest in specific ideas to share with the right product teams for prioritisation.


    We'll leave this idea as "Depreciation schedule report - break down by month" and I've created a new idea for your 3rd point, and added your vote to it.


    For points 2 and 4 we need more detail to understand specifically what is lacking in inventory and the phone apps. Would you please be able to see if any other ideas already exist for the features you'd like to see, and vote for them. If they don't already exist, create a new idea per request 😊

  18. Once the bank feed(s) have been refreshed, have a pop up confirming that. In the past, I assumed it was completed after the refresh circulating icon had finished only to discover this was not the case as there was actually an issue with my bank and Xero.

  19. Right now you have to add a group to see clients together, but I'm hoping that one day we can simply change the category name of "Customers" to "Clients" to customize Xero for legal, insurance, marketing and many allied health practitioners who see clients.

  20. Although this is not a new product idea, it is rather a option removal idea. Recently a option has appeared on the Business tab for Cheques to be printed on bank provided stationary. We do not use Cheques in South Africa anymore and is clearly a function isolated to maybe the US whose banking system is still in the paper age. However new customers are always asking what is this function and then it takes our accountants some time to explain they cannot use it.
