  2. Expand the field to the right of Xero (top left) to show more than 2 letters for the active organisation.
    In the Home view, I can see the company name (below Xero), but not in other views.
    It would be so much clearer!

    Hi Karen, just trying to better understand your idea here are you referring to the organisation name or the logged in users name?

    Currently which ever screen you navigate to you should see the organisation name in the top left of the navigation bar next to 'Xero'. In the top right you'll be able to see your login profile picture, or if you haven't uploaded one this will show your profile name initials.

  3. Xero already scans invoices to create drafts, which is a huge time-saver.

    Extending this capability to receipts would add even more value.

    Specifically, if receipts sent to a Xero mailbox could be scanned and automatically matched to the right transaction, it would save significant manual effort, reduce errors, and streamline reconciliation. This small enhancement could have a big impact on efficiency for businesses handling large volumes of receipts.

  4. The easiest way to save a document to the Files Inbox is to share it from the device file manager or gallery. However, if an image has been rotated to landscape (e.g. because the image was originally the wrong orientation), saving the image to Files Inbox this way removes the rotation. The Xero Accounting app should preserve the rotation when uploading.

  5. Currently, Xero Projects allows us to enter and track predicted expenses, which is great for monitoring project costs. However, there is no equivalent option for predicted income.

    Being able to record predicted income against projects would provide a much clearer picture of project profitability and cash flow forecasts. This would allow project managers, accountants, and business owners to compare projected vs actual income alongside expenses, improving financial forecasting and decision-making.

    Benefits of this feature:

    Aligns income forecasting with existing expense tracking.

    Improves visibility of project profitability before actuals come in.

    Helps businesses plan resources, budgets, and cash flow more effectively.

  6. In my custom income statement, I'd like to create a calculation for a debt service coverage ratio. However, I don't there's a way to set a P&I payment as "per month" in the custom features. Is there a feature to set a formula that adjusts my debt service based on the number of months the income statement covers? (E.g. monthly P&I is $5,000 per month. So a 6-month year-to-date statement would adjust P&I to be $30,000 on my printed report).

  7. We have recently entered into a group VAT registration. However, there is no functionality in Xero to make the submission as a group. We have to create the VAT returns in the individual entities and then import VAT box amounts, which means we lose the audit trail in Xero. Also if we were to receive a VAT inspection would mean that we cannot provide HMRC with just one return we would have to provide them with multiple.

    Need the additional functionality to link companies via a VAT registration number and submit the return (from any one of those entities).

  9. When comparing the Profit & Loss by projects, it would be very helpful to have an option such as “Hide zero balance projects” after selecting all projects. Currently, when we select all projects (we have more than 100), the report also shows those with zero balances (no transactions). This makes the report slower to display and download, and we have to manually remove those projects afterwards. Would it be possible to add such a feature to improve efficiency and reporting usability?

  10. Only show 'open items' on Balance sheet

    Have an ability to match items in a balance sheet account, so only the 'open amounts' (which make up the total) are visible eg for accruals - don't have to see all the old accruals, and the invoices that have cleared these out. Would be able to see summary of just the 'open amounts'

  11. I have seen the new Xero update, and the search bar has changed (only looks and complaints)
    1. The search bar stays open, so you manually have to close it, which is slightly annoying.
    2. Your search stays in the bar when it is closed. So when you open the bar again to search for something else, you have to delete the original search. If it has been a while since you last searched, you forget, and it can be so frustrating.

    If the search bar were fixed (actually finding things I were searching for), I wouldn't mind. But this…

  13. For the Annual Financial Statements, it may be useful to include the entity’s registration number directly beneath the entity’s name in brackets — for example:

  15. I think the new menu bar is great as its closer to the original layout from about 9-10 years ago.

    But super annoying that I can only access Products & Services via Sales.

    All our purchasing is run through Xero, all our sales is run via external POS that we import summary csv, not detail, so no products or services.

    Seeing as the new navigation bar is already quite full and having a separate productions option is not visually viable, would it not make sense to have the Products and Services link feature in both Sales & Purchases?

  16. Until recently I have been manually importing my monthly BlueVine Statements into Xero. This is a far from ideal approach since from a reporting and receivables standpoint, the data will always be stale and out of date. This leads to events like automated past due reminders going out for receivables that have actually been received and marked as paid.

    I just recently learned of the bank feed integration with Yodlee, but the quality of the data provided by this service is heavily flawed by sending over incorrect analysis codes with transactions that cannot be removed or edited. While it does…

    Appreciate you sharing why the Yodlee feed doesn't currently fit your needs, Jeff.

    We're always keen to hear the new feed connections our customers would most like to see. We don't have immediate plans for a direct bank feed with BlueVine, however we'll start to get a feel of the this through support in your idea here, and can keep you updated if any plans are made.

  17. Improve Reconciliation and Match Rule efficiency: show complete Statement Line Reference field.

    Currently just the first 2-4 words are shown. Details needed for quick use of Match Rules "OK" button are buried--requires clicking "more details" on each statement line, plus another click or Esc key to hide pop-up details window if "OK" button not used.

  18. Invoice only users should be able to access certain ledger accounts.
    Also they should be able to have access to file option just under the settings option.
    Especially be able to add files related to bills etc
