  1. When an employee leaves, it would be really useful for Xero to calculate how much leave they have left or have over used and then calculate and add/deduct the value from the final payslip. Currently, I have had to do the calculations manually, and then I add to add the holiday to the payslip and change his departure date to cover the leave period - a bit of a messy fudge.

  2. Currently there is no easy way to review the on/off status of invoice reminders for Customer unless they have an outstanding balance, and even then this is only on screen and not exportable, so either a way to filter the Customer list for those which have invoice reminders turned off, or just a report that can be run with a column for the reminders status (on/off and number of reminder sent) would be useful for better credit control review.

  3. We need the ability to search by reference within Account Transactions. The new search bar in the top appears to search reference fields, but not the search field under Account Transactions.

  4. A number of bills are received via supplier portals rather than by email. The simplest entry point into Xero is therefore to drag and drop the pdf into the "Files" area of Xero and then create the bill. However using this method doesn't auto-populate any of the information for the draft bill like when using the email to Xero method.

    I'm sure all the functionality is there for this suggestion : It would be great if files could be dropped into a specific "Bills" folder from which then Xero a) automatically created draft bills and b) auto-populated fields on these…

    Hi everyone, we're pleased to share that we have some work underway atm that will provide what you'd like to see here. Right now, along with work for managing duplicate bills, and providing a quick view of bills we're developing a bills upload feature where you'll be able to upload or drag & drop a file from your device to create a bill in your Xero organisation. You can read more of the detail on our blog and I'll round back to share once this is released for you all.

  5. New quote screen has created a lot of extra steps in creating quotes
    i.e.
    - moved buttons out of intuitive workflow space
    - save button now hidden at top right instead of at bottom of quote
    - quote numbers less visible once saved
    - sending a saved quote takes a lot more steps

    Understand the need for new framework but the workflow changes have made creating quotes longer and more complicated. Thanks.

  6. When raising client invoices, it would be good to be able to submit the invoice to a Manager for approval.
    When processing supplier bills, it would be good to be able to submit the bill to a Manager for approval of payment of that expense.
    In both cases, this would mean that approval details of "who" and "when" would be noted in the History of the invoice/bill without needing to attach a file showing the approval or tracking this outside of the system.
    Ideally keeping the Approval role completely separate to the ability to edit the invoice/bill as well as…

  7. It'll be good to be able to submit leave requests for the next year without affecting the current year's balance.

    Towards the end of the year for the holiday allowance, employees start to plan their time off for the next year.

    It'll be good for the system to recognise that the leave request is for the next year and only deduct off the balance once the new year starts and the balance is reset.

  8. Most companies have different treatment of accounting depreciation and tax allowances on the same assets. Having these setup and maintained in Xero would be a game changer.

    Also: make FAR export dates sync up with regional settings - it's enormously frustrating having a FAR download in MM/DD/YYYY when one works in example DD/MM/YYYY

When entering information on time sheets for employees, the ability to hit "next" to move onto the next employee once you have approved the time sheet rather than having to go back out to the main timesheet menu, find the appropriate timesheet on the drop down list & go back in to enter the timesheet for the next employee.

    Thanks for confirming, Andy - Really appreciate the screenshot. 🙂

    I've checked in with our Payroll team where this detail is saved.
    We appreciate wanting more options for gender when entering personal details, and in some regions such as AU & NZ this is optional.
    Currently, in order to ensure successful payroll filings with HMRC in the UK, we need to match the schema they provide. That said, our team are reassessing how this fits in Xero so I'll shift this Idea to 'under review' and can share any updates that come.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest for being able to add QR codes to invoices. 

    While this is something we started looking into this is not something we're developing. 

    To set the right expectation I'll shift this status to submitted and we can continue to track the interest here.

    I would have thought it is easier to hold onto existing customers, rather then lose them in favour of new customers.

  13. In Payroll --> Timesheet --> entering hours for employees, there is no option to 'Approve & Next' employee, which would make entering hours easier. It would mean one doesn't have to keep going back to the main Timesheet menu when they are working through a roster of staff.

  14. It is most annoying and time consuming to only be able to access half of the inventory items when raising an invoice. Instead one has to look up every item in the second half of the inventory, line by line before you can add it to an invoice. This is a step into the dark ages.

    Hi team, thanks for sharing and showing your interest on the idea, here. Atm our product team are doing some work to improve the line item grid and as part of this the item field will also see some improvement. Once the changes are released for the edit page you'll be able to view more items for each drop down option in the grid.

  15. The ability to 'lock in' previous periods pay rates in Projects. Currently, when uploading any pay rate changes per member of staff, this cascades back to all hours worked on projects which skews figures.

  16. The new bills view has totally rearranged the columns and the column widths. I have already added my own vote to adjusting column widths but i really need to be able to sort my bills view columns in an order that is easier on the eye, and neck, instead of bouncing from from one side of the screen to the other unnecessarily.

  17. A type of tax code should be possible in which the tax is subtracted from, rather than added to, the invoiced amount for that line item.

    Rationale: Many countries require that a foreign supplier's invoice be subject to withheld tax if the supplier doesn't have a satisfactory tax treaty entitlement.

    Example:

    We use a reverse-invoice process for our Australian supplier to record payments due to them based on our activity. This activity often attracts a royalty fee that we must pay.

    The UK requires us to withhold 5% of this royalty fee, and pay this over HMRC quarterly.

  18. I hope xero has the functionality of e-invoicing to approve and send the multiple e-invoices in bulk.
    As this new invoicing does not allow it and make the task slower than the conventional xero way.
    I hope you'll add this suggestion on your product improvement and see xero functioning the next time around.

    Hi community, as much as we were amped to share that there was work begun to solve for the idea, unfortunately this has been pushed back for now while the team get through a few other developments that are taking priority. As soon as there's change or news to share around the Account Watchlist we'll update you on this, here. 

  20. It would be helpful and efficient to be able to make or add an account code straight from the "account code" dropdown in the bill/invoice/journal without needing to go to chart of accounts to make a new one. Currently, users still need to go to the chart and then go back to the bill/invoice/journal but since this refreshes the page, it erases all the data already filled up in the invoice.

    Hi all, appreciate how this suggestion would make life easier 😊 This is a feature that our team are looking to improve, and they have plans to enable a quick link to go to the COA (similar to quotes today). They do hope to enable the ability to add a new account directly within the Invoices screen however there are a few other pieces of work lined up before they can tackle that.
