Such a simple and crucial thing and still IMPOSSIBLE to do in the oh-so-sophisticated Xero. Instead, Xero keeps increasing their prices. I'm not impressed.

This is indeed a crucial feature, and quite common in other accounting software. This should be implemented asap!

Think about a monthly retainer for consultancy services. When you have spent more hours that month and you add the time to the project, it should automatically be added to the monthly invoice. Like this, projects is almost useless and automatics payments too, since you still have to send the invoices manually!

I'm looking at upgrading to the top tier level to get Projects access to replace Harvest, however, this is a critical feature that I need for how my billings work - Harvest can do this!

nearly 2 years on and this feature seems simple to implement a yet nowhere to be seen. its a bit of a show stopper and i now have to look for an alternative solution.

It is unbelievable that this doesn't exist. Also, if the invoice is for time, there is no time costs added to the project. Makes using repeating invoices for projects useless, as all the time costing has to be manually added to the Project even if an invoice is produced automatically. This is critical - please implement this Xero

This is a critical function of a project module. If you need to open each repeating invoice to tag it to a project, the purpose of the repeating invoices has been defeated.

Xero, please fix recurring billing in Projects. Value pricing and recurring billing is the best practice for many industries including professional services (and bookkeeping and accounting firms so think every Xero partner). Staff enter time in Projects to capture standard cost and standard bill rates, and accomodae payroll; yet repeat invoicing done in Business > Invoice > Repeat resulting in time never being relieved (billed) in Projects. Result is users are blind as to profitability of Projects. If Xero partners aren't able to cleanly run their books in Xero, how are we supposed to support and recommend this to our clients.

Xero, this is CRITICAL. Please gather the motivation.

I am shocked that this functionality isn't available, I've just moved to Xero being highly recommended by others, but without this it feels like a backwards step :(

And repeating bills as well. We are self-billing and have approx. 180 repeating bills per month to allocate to projects.

this is 100% needed! Why it's not there as standard is beyond me.

This will prevent errors of forgetting to assign invoices to projects.

We set up the annual work for a client as a project and the client has monthly invoices. Would LOVE to be able to assign the invoices to the projects

Would save so much time to have this option
