Email Settings - Ability to have separate reply-to email address
Ability to have separate ‘Reply-to’ email addresses within the same Xero organisation.
Purpose: Users can easily change the email address that they’d like to use when sending email from Xero, rather than having to go through settings to change it.
Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate your input and letting us know your appetite for being able to set the Reply to address for your Xero organisation, here in the idea. As many will have seen with new invoicing, our team have begun testing and making small change to the send experience. While we've been able to make these changes when developing other areas of Xero, we want to be upfront that we don't have a timeframe of when we'll upgrade the email settings page just yet, but this is something we will get to in time - when we do our team will also review the Reply to address options as part of this. So, though there is no movement to share on this just yet please know we will let you know here as soon as there is.

Translation: "Xero is so busy ruining the invoicing process, we haven't yet got round to a basic change that our customers really want."
Thanks, Kelly. You have confirmed that my decision to move the majority of my clients (all bar one) to different software was definitely the right one.

I's crazy this has been an issue for so long!
This is basic stuff. Get on to it Xero. -

We definitely need to separate reply to emails, due to confidentiality and privacy. Can this be actioned with urgency.

We have an accounts team and an order fulfillment team. We would like our order fulfilment team to update or select their email address orders@ when sending purchase orders. Everything else can go back to accounts@
Currently we have to have it set so all emails are replied to accounts@.
Often suppliers reply to purchase orders but it can be over 24 hours before accounts@ notices and forwards the message onto Orders@
This means that we cannot be as agile as we would like.

I would like to know if Xero have any intention to allow users to have an alternative reply email that doesn't affect other users in the system, within the org. email settings.
For example,
I have one staff member who does our purchases and sends out purchase orders, so they would like replies to be sent to their email, selected "The logged in user" for email replies.
However, I have two accounts staff members who would like replies to be sent to the shared mail inbox of accounts@....
If we select "The logged in user" it will select their email and not the accounts email. If we select "Accounts" "accounts@...." this will work. But, the staff member who sends out the purchase orders is also affected and then they can no longer receive reply emails for purchase orders to their email.
Unfortunately, there is no way to fix this problem, unless Xero allow individual users to select an alternative reply email that is not their own. And, in doing so, should not affect other users.

Sales need to send quotes but accounts need to do everything else so 2 emails is essential.
Why is this not a thing? You change the invoice template which wasn't broken but simple things like this still remain untouched.

We would like to be able to set a central email address for our customer to reply, but there is nothing in Xero which shows this can happen.
Please can we have this facility urgently. -

Wow been requested since April 2022 in this thread and still nothing but they do all these other changes that don't work or not user friendly. No doubt there's other threads requesting this as well.
Show they really don't listen to the users. -
Jessica Hall commented
Please make this happen ASAP.
We have different users who are in charge of invoicing, creating quotes etc and sometimes we want the replies to go to a central email address.
But a few users are only doing certain invoices and PO's and we need the replies to go back direct to the logged in user so they can action any replies. This is important with time critical jobs or invoices that need to be actioned by a specific user.
Each time a user updates the settings, it changes it for everyone and some users are then not receiving the reply they are waiting on.

This feature seems like a no-brainer, definitely a must-add!

Yes we would support having separate reply email address that are easiily used in the processes.

This feature is really important in our organization. We have separate emails for invoices and separate bills to pay. This will help us a lot in terms of user roles.
Thanks!

we need this feature too!
We do not suggest using specific user email to send out the quotation and invoicenow we need to change everytime before sending, very stupid and wasting of time
-
Lisa Munt commented
This is a must for me and my clients, with tech moving so fast, my clients software is moving faster than xero making me look incompetent.

Would love this feature. We have clients that send out quotes - they need the replies to these. But when invoices are sent, we want the accounts team to receive these replies. This would be a gamechanger for some of our organisations.

This needs to happen ASAP for a program of this size to exist with an elementary issue such as this is embarrassing.

Couldn't agree more....expecting staff at different locations to have to go via settings to change the email address before they enter a PO is a ridiculous waste of time and needs to be fixed.
If Indvidual users can't have their own setting saved then simply give us a Check box option at the point the Email is going to be sent.

xero arent going to listen until new subscriptions slow down.. post these issues on their ads that pop on facebook or instagram so new users see the massive downfalls...
