UK Payroll - Calculate attachment of earnings deductions
Please can the ability to calculate attachment of earnings deductions be built into the payroll module?

Please can you add the ability to calculate a direct earnings attachment as a percentage, Having used other payroll management systems I am surprised that this feature is not available on Xero. We have members of staff who work different hours weekly and monthly and manually calculating this is time consuming and could result in incorrect deductions being made from employees

The lack of a calculation for weekly variable amounts is annoying!

Having this worked out at a percentage would save so much time!
We have temporary members of staff who do different hours each week so trying to figure out the percentage each time plus if they do overtime an additional percentage if they earn over the threshold is so time consuming and makes more sense if it is worked out by what the courts require you to do -

I have been emailing about this for the last 3 years...

Please set this us asap - it is something we are required to comply with by law and with the current settings will need to calculate the amount and amend it in the pay template every month for employees on an hourly rate.

Poor as it stands now, this needs sorting.

There is currently an option for a DEA to be table based when setting it up, however this doesn't do any of the calculations for the DEA. Instead, they need to be calculated manually & entered as a fixed amount. There is also no way of keeping track of the amounts deducted until the total has been paid within Xero, this also has to be done manually. This can especially be difficult if the employee's pay varies each period.

I have an employee with an Attachment of Earnings Order (AEO) and whilst I have been able to set up the amount to be deducted on the payslip template each month, it appears that it is not possible to enter an opening balance on Xero for this deduction. I don't know if it is usual to show a YTD figure for AEOs - certainly Student loans have a YTD figure on the payslip and I would imagine that it will feature on the P60, but I can't see how Xero is going to produce this correctly without allowing me to enter an opening balance? I switched from HMRC Basic Tools half way through the year because I could not present the AEO on the payslip but it is not the complete solution.

Please could you enable the attachment from earnings net deduction to have an editable percentage as this is what UK councils/courts require us to do - and furthermore, having to enter the amount in the template each time is not good

Ability to put direct earning attachments on payslip templates with percentages. The standard DEA percentage varies depending on earnings in period, it would be handy for the software to work these out rather than having to do it manually.

Also if I was paying a employee a net wage it would be great to be able to calculate to gross figure before deductions of tax and paye.

Also, could it be possible to adjust the earnings arrestment figure whilst in a Draft payrun without having to enter all of the payroll data, manually calculate the earnings arrestment deduction figure, go back to Employee Pay Template, update the template with the amount to be deducted, go back to Draft Payrun, reset the payslip, add all of the previously entered data again?
