  1. Can we please have the ability to add effective start and end dates against pay items. For example, a deduction may only be for 10 weeks at a set amount. Rather than having to setup multiple notes offline to remind us of this, can't we have this function setup in the payroll system so it only deducts the amount over the set period specified?

  2. We need to be able to export SAFF (ATO super compliant files) to Superannuation clearing houses. I am unable to upload a file as Xero is not SAFF compliant.

  3. When using the Leave Paid out on Termination feature in xero, the paid out leave is recorded in the Holiday Leave Accrual category. This means we are unable to run a report showing the value of unused entitlements paid out on Termination. This is important information for Workcover Reconciliations etc. Please set up a report for Unused Leave Paid out on Termination.

  4. Payroll - Auto calculate the leave entitlement on employee including the accrual from the current pay period to exhaust all leave before unpaid leave is applied.

  5. Unpaid Intern. I have an Uni student doing an internship. We offered to pay $500 per month as a transport allowance. The unpaid intern is not an employee. When I wanted to set this person up in Payroll, I found limitations: the only available contracts are full time, part time and casual. I tried to set her up as casual, which is wrong, and link the transport allowance. An error pop up asking to calculate Superannuation. I give up.
    In this case, MYOB is better, as we have an option to "not report" and we don't pay superannuation for…

  6. We are long term users of Xero and find many aspects of its functionality make our accounting functions easy! This is not the case in terms of Payroll entry….The Xero Me App does not come close to meeting the needs of a small business like ours….and I am sure we are not entirely unique!

    Our business is predominantly made up of casual employees who work different hours from day to day/week to week. Many of our employees also drive vehicles and require kilometre reimbursement.

    The biggest challenge we have is the accurate recording of employee hours…unfortunately, we have issues around…

    Thank you for your engagement and sharing through product ideas, everyone. While we appreciate wanting more flexibility and detail in payroll reports, with payroll development quite separated for each region, and to help our product teams best understand the data that would be most useful for our customers we're going to close this idea and recommend starting ideas for the specific fields that would be helpful in reports and why you'd find this useful.

  8. We are after a report which shows the leave accrual rates for each individual employee in bulk report. I know we can view each individual employee by clicking on their leave balance and looking at the "Hours of leave accrued annually by a full-time employee. However for businesses with a large number of employees, this is very time consuming, therefore we would like a bulk report we can run to view all employees accrual rates in the one report.

  10. Make it so that an employees actual current leave balance is shown on an employee's record under the leave tab. Not just the balance with future leave applied. It's frustrating to have to download an employees pay slip to view these balances.

  11. To minimise additional payroll payment processing it would be great to have the ability to pay employees from more than one Company bank account using the Payroll Batch payment functionality i.e Employee 1,2,3,4 gets paid from Bank Account A and Employee 5,6,7,8 gets paid from Bank Account B.

  12. Set up leave so that it automatically tops up at the start of the year with a set amount.
    I have an employee that has an arrangement of xhours per years to be used as they wish. At the start of each year this reverts back to the agreed hours. Any hours not taken during the previous year is cleared.

  16. Suggest the ability to apply work patterns to part time employees. For example, we have a part time employee who works 7 hours on Mon, 6 hours on Tues and 6 hours on Wed.
    At the moment, if a Public Holiday falls on a Monday, it does not correctly work out hours worked.
    The same happens if Annual Leave is taken; incorrect hours are calculated which affects AL accruals.
    Hours worked have to be calculated and added manually.

  17. Show the Total Payment of a Pay Run, on both the Pay Runs and individual Pay Run screen. As it is, you have to click Payroll > Pay Employees > Pay Run > Employee to see the Total Payment for that specific Pay Run. Far too many clicks to check what the total amount was that was posted to Wages Payable account (and paid from the bank account).

  18. It would be good if payroll reports could be customised, i.e. after making a change to an existing report, such as Gross To Net report, the new template could be saved as a Custom Report.

    At the moment, it isn't possible to save the updated format, so I have to make the same changes to the standard report every month.

  20. Amend status of timesheet - I accidentally ran a Pay Run without having approved the timesheet. The status of the timesheet then was Approved, and didn't become 'Processed'. An 'Approved' staus meant I couldn't change the calendar setting s etc for the employee. It becasme a challenge to do what was necessary to get the status to 'Processed'.
