  1. When you change an employees address on xero, it changes the address on all previous payslips to the new address it should be the address the employee was living at when the payslip was sent

  2. Timesheet entry for hours in previous payrun. This allows employees who missed an timesheet entry to add their hours in . Quickbooks has this ability and it saves the employer from having to do a manual entry on the employees behalf.

  3. At this stage Xero doesn't recognise if an Employee is on Unpaid Leave.

    Xero's default behaviour when an employee (that is assigned to a holiday group) submits a request for a period of Unpaid Leave spanning one or more public holidays, is to exclude those Public Holidays from the calculated Unpaid Leave hours.

    This has the effect of allocating those Public Holidays as paid hours in a pay-run rather than as unpaid hours. This is not consistent with the Fair Work Act (https://www.fairwork.gov.au/employment-conditions/public-holidays/not-working-on-public-holidays)

    If this is not picked up and adjusted before finalising a pay-run it…

  4. At the moment Xero only produce standard 18 format files for paying employees electronically. There is very minimal banks that accept this kind of format. I I think it would be of great use if we could upload a template file to Xero of the format our bank accepts and it then produces this type of file for us.

  5. Would be easier for employees & team leaders approving leave if annual leave is able to be requested in days and half days. Or to have the option to select either days or hours when requesting annual leave through the Xero Me app.

    It's the most common complaint I hear from our employees that it would be way easier if they could just put in 1 day instead of working out the hours they want to take off.

  6. It would be a great addition to be able to allocate employees to a particular employee group and from this run historical employee summary reports by employee.

    At present when setting up tracking categories the tracking in employee reports will only track payruns once the employee groups are setup. Any historical payruns are not included. This makes it difficult to compare periods or look at employee group reports for the year to date.

    There should be an ability to apply the employee grouping tracking to all or some of the historical payruns.

    • allowances (award)
    • allowances (non-award)

  8. Ability to restrict which pay items an employee can view in Xero Me to only those that apply to that employee. Without this ability employees sometimes choose pay items that do not apply to them. Most often this is picked up at the authorisation stage but why allow the possibility for error in the first place.

  9. AU - Compulsory Employee Super When a Employee Superfund changes ABN, USI number, merges with another fund.

    The only solution at moment is to export the employee data into a file and save it. Then deactivate the Superfund. The problem is if you have a query on these past transactions you cannot do it through Xero. If you a subjected to an audit you cannot generate report for the data prior to the date of the changes made to the super fund. If you have been through an audit this creates a lot of work.   10. Include a new filed in payroll employee data with employee number. Employees will have a unique indentifier in xero. When running a pay history report the customer number to appear on this report as well as any other payroll roll reports. Businesses are using automated payslip and messaging services for payroll and this info is required for these software's.

  12. When approving timesheets it would be ideal to have separate lines underneath Ordinary Hours with Leave requested, on which days and hour amounts and to be able to approve there instead of having to go to a different screen.

    Can be hard to double check and remember correct days the leave was taken and also to ensure daily and weekly hours are met.

Add a second email address for an employee, for their payslips to be sent too - i.e. if payslips need to be sent to an employment agency each pay run, their email address can be added and payslips automatically sent here each pay run, rather than manually downloading payslips to send outside of Xero.

  14. You can enter a group for an employee on the employment information but this function cannot be used on the reports.

    If the information of which employee is in which group, then surely its not a huge leap to add this function to the reports. Using the gross to net report, you could select a group rather than an individual, saving a lot of time.

  16. Under the employees deductions sections during payroll, if one has salary sacrifice, child support, and any other deductions, you have to process the pay run initially. And then you would have to manually do a separate payment to a payee

    Is it possible to have a payee that can be linked to the payroll deductions. Meaning when you run your payroll, the deductions will go against the payee and when the payroll aba file is created, the payee will be included in that aba file

  17. PAPDIS Pension reports for submission should include ALL employees not just those who have not opted out as the pension provider (creative) I submit to need all the information as they do the pension assessment on everyone every month. I have to manually edit the csv downloaded every month which can lead to mistakes.

  19. Search by Employee across all of Payroll reports. We have 110 - 120 staff, currently we have to scroll down to find the right employee, can we have a standards search by employee. ie/ start typing their name and then hit enter

    Hi Belinda, to check in on your idea here are you looking for similar to the Pay History report that allows you to search the employee versus drop down and select as you do in the Leave Transactions report? 

  20. To be able to enter and start and finish times on the time sheets on Xero me and login for staff, save miscaluculation on hours.
