AU Payroll - Add 'Date of Birth' column to Employee Remuneration Report.
This will allow for easy review of an employee's age alongside their current payrate and adjustment post birthday. Currently, I run two reports, Employee Contact Details and Employee Remuneration Report, export to excel and merge to allow cross reference of all information. The remuneration Report would also benefit from having all wage categories to select if needed, ie: Saturday Rate, Sunday Rate, Public Holiday Rate etc. Negating the need to access each employee pay template to check correct rates have been set up.

AU Payroll - Set Payment Date for Unscheduled pay run
Unscheduled pay run - most of my unscheduled pay runs are paid on the day of creation.
It would be good to be able to change the payment date to the actual date of payment instead of the date selected by the unscheduled pay run.E.g. unscheduled pay run for the week ending 13th Aug has a payment date of 16th Aug yet payment may have been made on 18th Sep.

Bank Feeds - Customise fields in the Account Transactions tab
It would be handy if account transaction list that shows when you click on your bank account could be modified to include / remove different fields so that you can see information that you would like to see when looking at bank transactions without having to create a custom report.

Contacts - Export contact group
Very simple fix. Add 'Group' as a column header on CSV export download of contacts. When I download all the contacts, ive no way of knowing which group they are in, or if they are not in a group.

Contacts - Ability to view contact payment method (e.g active DD form, payment plan, CC)
It would be great if, when viewing a contact, there was a quick 'sign/flag' to show if that contact has an active Direct Debit form.
Currently you have to go to >Settings >Payment Service >GoCardless >edit >Direct Debit Forms

NZ Payroll: Timesheet summary reports
It would be really helpful if there was a report that showed the actual amount of hours worked per month per individual and as a total. Our company has busy seasons, as well as quiet seasons and having a report like this would help us in planning our staffing situation.

Billable expenses - Visible on Contact and dashboard widget
At the moment, there are two places you can find out if there are billable expenses outstanding for a Contact: at the bottom of the Sales Overview, and in one report.
A total should be visible in the header of Contacts that have had billable expenses assigned to them (including if there's Projects assigned to that Contact with uninvoiced expenses).
There should also be a widget for the dashboard similar to the section at the bottom of the Sales Overview.
These will make it easier to remember to on-bill expenses in a timely fashion.

UK CIS - Audit history of emails sent out from CIS Contractor
It would be really useful to be able to view the email content/date/time/recipient, etc of the emails sent to CIS Subcontractors when we send the monthly CIS Statements via Xero to them.

Email-to-Bill - Record sender's email
When a bill is generated through Email-to-Bill the bill history only says System Generated and 'Received through Email-to-Bill'
It would be much more valuable to see the sender's email here (e.g. 'Received through Email-to-Bill from ***@gmail.com') in case a follow-up is needed4 votes -
Payroll UK - See hourly rate for overtime pay items when employee is on an annual salary
We would definately want to see the hourly rate and hours for overtime for staff on annual salaries.
At the moment the overtime hours are printed but not the rate of pay for the overtime.15 votes -
Xero Projects - Charge out Rates by staff member not by Task
It seems like a ridiculous hack to have to duplicate tasks for various staff members or charge out rates. eg TASK1(apprentice), TASK1(trade assistant), TASK1(Tradesman)...TASK2(apprentice) ...and so on.
The inability to organise 'tasks' into groups/ headings within a project is another obvious flaw and means that 'tasks' could functionally only really be used as 'major cost centres' rather than granular tasks, but even at a very top level breakdown, having those 'tasks' would get unwieldy very quickly.
I know that Xero Projects is a light weight add on, but that is also part of its appeal. So many other offerings eg. WorkFlowMAX try to take over the whole management of the business and have certain limitations or lack of flexibility that make them not be a good fit for our business.
For the per user cost of Xero Projects which has a mobile app with a decent enough implementation of timesheets, it seems strange and somewhat illogical to not have the ability to easily on-charge labour at a specified rate or markup.
If labour was treated just like 'expenses' that would make more sense in most cases.
Why should a 'task' have a charge out rate that is unrelated to the labour cost of the staff member performing the task?
If a project is on a fixed price quote then all you need to calculate is the real labour cost of the staff member and if is billed as 'tasks and expenses' as it is referred to in Xero Projects it really should be 'Labour and Expenses' (which is all it is anyway).
For invoicing this could either be added in as a single labour line item against a task as an aggregate amount of the various charge out rates, or it would be useful to have the option to invoice it broken down by staff member. The only decent work around I can think of is to manually enter charge out rates at time of invoicing with the 'Display hourly rate time as: Time entries' option selected...
Each staff member just needs to have an attribute of a 'charge out rate' set up in the same dialog box as their calculated cost/hr. Then that can be used as a selectable option at time of invoicing.
There is no need to even re-think the logic of 'tasks' having a charge out rate, just add this in an an optionIt seems like a ridiculous hack to have to duplicate tasks for various staff members or charge out rates. eg TASK1(apprentice), TASK1(trade assistant), TASK1(Tradesman)...TASK2(apprentice) ...and so on.

Cash Coding - Use an 'Unknown' contact if no Payee is entered
Currently, when using the cash coding screen, if you do not allocate a payee a new payee is created for each line item. If there is no Payee the contact should be Unknown otherwise there is too many contacts created for no reason.

Invoice/Bills: Notifications - Reminder Invoice/Bill becomes due
To have an option to set up e-mail notifications to receive a report when an invoice payable becomes due
Purpose: To easily be reminded when invoices/bills due through email.
215 votesHi team, we appreciate the attention this idea has received and do want to share that while we aren't directly developing at this stage, notification and being able to collaborate on bills is something our team are currently looking into.
We can't provide any promises right now, but we wanted to loop you all in on news. Once the teams research has concluded and we have a better sight on what can be done in this space I'll return to update you all, here. Thanks

When a client changes from GST registered to no longer GST registered - It would be greatly appreciated if all the rules changed to BAS Exc like it does in Chart of Accounts. Young clients shop everywhere and therefore there are hundreds of rules to edit.

Contacts - Add EORI number field to contacts
EORI numbers are required for all European customers especially when invoicing/shipping goods. It is an extension of their VAT numbers. Please can XERO create a new field on the contacts for this. We are recording this currently in the new notes or "FAX" number so it shows quickly. Are Fax numbers still necessary?

Reporting - Remove the extra FX column between months on the Balance Sheet
The new balance sheet report has introduced a column between every month which contains a flag if there is an item impacted by FX. This now means that when exporting into excel the report now has 24 columns as opposed to 12 previously and the months are not sequential. I like many others use the balance sheet in other tailored reporting and financial models so am now having to delete the blank columns in order for the report to fit into my reporting templates. Why is it necessary to flag on every month that there is a FX implication? An option of running a report without these flags or to revert to the previous format please.
