Bank Reconciliation - Summary Report with Imported Statement Balance for all banks
Can the new bank summary report have the option of adding in the imported statement balance for each bank account. This would provide a quick way of checking which accounts need more work rather than having to check each reconciliation report for each bank account when there are multiple bank accounts (I have 10+ and it is arduous having to run each reconciliation report just to check the balance)
8 votesHi everyone, while not a direct solve for the idea here we wanted to share a recent release that improves customers ability to confirm their bank balances using the new Bank Reconciliation Summary report.
With the new report you'll now find you can enter a Bank statement ending balance. This means where an imported statement balance has not imported, or doesn't match your actual bank statement balance you can now enter an amount and update the report. Xero will then calculate the balance out by based on the amount you've entered in this field.
Currently this is still on a bank by bank run report, you can switch between banks you have in your organisation from the Bank account field.
If there are any plans to develop a view across all banks at once we'll let you know here.

Branding - Create custom templates using Apple Pages
The ability to use Apple Pages to create invoice and quote templates.
We, in common with countless other businesses worldwide use Apple computers, iPads and iPhones, as such we are disadvantaged as we are unable to create templates using any Apple software programs. Please address this for us as soon as possible so that we can make full use of Xero capabilities. This feature would no doubt make Xero more attractive to new Apple based users also.

Reporting - Hide or Archive system accounts
Hide or Archive System Accounts when not needed. We are a Cash Accounting based business so have no A/R, A/P, or other accounts related to Accrual Accounting. I
It would be most useful to tidy up our chart of accounts to be able to hide the system accounts related to Accrual Accounting so that they don't clog up our reports etc.2 votes -
Bills - Add Planned Date from "All" Tab Bills View
Ability to add a planned payment date to a bill from the "All" tab in. It is very frustrating that if you are in the all tab in the bills to pay section and you want to add a planned date to a bill, you then have to navigate to the awaiting payment tab and then search again for the bills you want to add a planned date to.
Further, there is actually no need for an awaiting payment tab. We should be able to filter on the All tab for the view of bills we want to see.

Sales invoice - Show FX translation to non-base currency
Present fx translation to any currency of choice on the face of a sales invoice, instead of being limited to the base currency only. As required by various local VAT authorities, the sale value & VAT must be shown in local currency - which can differ to the invoice currency.
Example: a business invoices in GBP or USD, but must charge UAE VAT and therefore present fx translation to AED on the face of their sales invoices. This is not currently possible using the standard or advanced templates.

Bank Reconciliation | Suggestions - Matching by invoice number rather than amount
Reconciliation to be matched by INVOICE NUMBER rather than amount
9 votesHi community, appreciate the interest for being able to match based on the invoice number, even if the amount of the statement line and transaction in Xero differ. While this isn't something we have plans for at this stage, it'll be good to get a sense of the interest for this here.
Just to confirm for everyone coming across - The way suggested matches work currently is based on the amounts of the statement line and transaction being the same and also looking at most of the fields of a statement line and comparing with transactions entered to show a preferred match.

Invoice Report - Including account, date paid and method of payment
I want a payment report of invoice payments made into my bank account, the report would show date of payment, method of payment and actual .
37 votesHi Donald, I've updated the title of your idea to make this simpler for others that are interested to find.
Though we don't have a report that'll show the payment method atm, you could run the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail reports to view much of this information.
Once you've customised the report as you like, you can save as Custom to easily access that view anytime.

Profit and Loss - Filter tracking category by actual and budget
The new Profit and Loss report does not filter the actuals AND budget by tracking category. You have to manually add the correct tracking category budget to the report. When you have 40 plus tracking categories this becomes time consuming and silly.
The old profit and loss report did this easily. So the new report is a major step backwards
Ensure the filter for the new profit and loss report filters BOTH actuals and budget, so the report is easy to produce and has meaning. Do not expect users to add the correct column for budget - particularly those less skilled at reports. Plus having to do this 40 plus times for each tracking category is time wasting

Sales Tax (CA) - Support 'Quick method' GST/HST tax calculation
Support Quick Method of GST/HST tax calculation for Canadian small business. Small business corporations in Canada have an option of so called Quick Method of GST/HST tax calculation that is based on a marginal percentage from the sales revenue amount instead of full balance of taxes collced and paid. Many small businesses choose to use QM because it frequently and significantly (upt to 30%) reduces GST/HST taxes payable. Current GST/HST tax report does not support the QM and the manual workaround method through tax adjustment is not 100% corret in terms of the line numbers in the report. Enabling QM support will significantly increase usability and value of the GST/HST tax report for small business users in Canada. More about Quick Method here https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/forms-publications/publications/rc4058/quick-method-accounting-gst-hst.html

Analytics plus - Include bills with future dated payments in STCF projection
Short term cash flow projection, please can you update it to show bills with future dated payments?
Once our suppliers bills are in for the month, we often set bank payments up for them for their due date so that we don't' have to keep remembering to make payments. If we mark them up with a future payment date, they are removed from the cashflow forecast. It would make much more sense if they appeared in the cashflow on the date they have been set to pay.6 votes -
Bills - Option to show lines as Tax Inclusive
When entering bills as "Tax Inclusive" line items, Xero automatically changes it to "Tax exclusive" line items.
When trying to edit the bill to show tax inclusive line items, it again auto reverts to tax exclusive per line item.
I am requesting Xero to allow for having a choice between Tax Inclusive Bill line items, as well as Tax Exclusive. Why? This is because it is easier to reconcile due to the payment being tax inclusive.53 votes -
VAT - Defer VAT lines to later periods
I would like to suggest the option to defer a vat liability to the next period.
In many cases, customers raise invoices, but then their customer does not pay for a time.
The customer in the meantime is forced to pay the vat putting him at a disadvantage.
I propose the option to defer a vat line item to the following period - in other words, remove it from the present tax return and allow it to reflect on the following tax return.
This is a great benefit to the customer from a cashflow viewpoint - especially the smaller businesses.2 votesHi Ingrihid, thanks for the idea and support here. We appreciate all the valuable feedback and ideas shared via our Product Ideas page.
I can see that you are based in South Africa and that your idea likely relates to the VAT 201 report. Our VAT 201 return has been developed to comply with SARS guidelines and the option to defer individual VAT line items would go against this. For more information on VAT compliance we would recommend reaching out to SARS directly.
You will see the VAT 201 return can only be run on an Accrual basis. Accrual basis includes all transactions by the transaction date, whereas payments basis includes all transactions by payment date.
It doesn't look like the option to create the VAT 201 on a payments basis has been raised. If this is something you would like to suggest, please feel free to raise this idea too.

Invoices - Feature for recording and assigning unbilled charges
Ability to create a record work done for a customer/client as a unbilled/delayed charge that has a pop up notification when an invoice is been created for a customer/client. Xero has a record of billable expenses but amounts on invoices are not always linked to a billable expense or time record.
This will avoid multiple invoices been issued to customers/clients and eliminates the possibility of "forgetting" to bill a customer/client for work done.
Quickbooks Online has this feature which is extremely useful.

AU Reports: Gender Equity Reporting
Appologies in advance for my frustration.
Are Xero considering providing a Gender Equity report in the future?
I raised a case for our HR Dept last year and the answer from Xero was no.If any community member has any short cuts on gathering this info, please respond to this post.
I am wasting so many hours trying to gather the required data from your available reports.
In April I exported Employee contact details to export & sort.
This morning I have been exporting Renumeration data and then sorting deleting non date range required emplyees. Due to no date range option for this report. Then this afternoon moved onto manually saving a PDF Payroll Activity Summary report for each business loaction (11) and now each individual employee (176). (can't find anything shorter that lists allowances seperately and totals ).
Why this report is not available as ALL individual employees I'm not sure. Drilled that down by location would be even better. As a business we are chased to comply and provide this information annually - our lodgment deadline is 31st May each year.
.
I'm sure Xero's HR/ payroll departments are aware of this annual Gender Equity reporting to the Australia Government. This information was much easier to gather from the old PAYG employee summary reports which listed allowances seperately (Yes everyone I know I'm old!).
Failing a standarised AU Gender Equity report, and the fact Xero will not supply old fashioned Report Generator access to users (allows any data title to be included in a report you build yourself - time consuming but at least you can get most data in the same location), are you able to provide a summary report in PDF & Excel format that supplies Payroll Activity Summary in a single all employees report with excel export. Then that data could be sorted and added to with data from various other reports to get close to lodgement data required.
Sorry Guys for the waffle.
Hope some other users can offer their wisdom on how they handle this task.
I'm so over my head. Many Thanks

Navigation - Make the Default records per page not 10 or 25
Make the default items viewed on reports, journals, invoices etc the maximum you can view not 10 or 25
1 voteHi Paul, while we don't have any immediate work planned for this is there an ideal # of items you'd like to set as a default per page?
Just to keep things transparent, in the way features in Xero are developed, it's unlikely that this would be implemented across all areas at once. You may notice with the recent update we have being rolled out in the Reconcile page you can now see 50 statement lines at once. Also from within Products and Services, if you change the # of items per page, this selection will be held when you navigate away. A couple of exceptions for this would be if working in incognito mode or switching between browsers.

Xero Accounting app - Password Confirmation
The mobile app currently does not ask you to confirm your password when you setup a pin for your account. If you were to miss-enter your pin, which is easy to do, you essentially immediately lock yourself out of your account. The system should ask for a pin, then ask you to confirm the pin before finalising it, allowing you to go back a step if you enter in the wrong pin.
