  1. When I am manually entering a contact bank account number, I find it disconcerting to be warned to enter the bank account number after I leave the BSB code field. But I HAVE to leave the BSB code field in order to move to the Bank account number field! Leaving the BSB field is not a mistake!
    I think the warning would be better triggered if you attempt to click on 'Save & close' without completing both fields.

  2. This is really for Xero Blue not practice manager, but you do not have a category for this,

    Automated client statements - have the option to send out our practice statements on a regular basis i.e. weekly or fortnightly regardless of the days due or overdue!

    Hi everyone, apologies we've not provided an update here before now. Over the past year there's been a lot of development throughout Sales, more centralised around the new invoicing experience. With the upgraded technology new invoicing is built on we've been able to begin developing the send experience, with improvements to customise and send invoices, and help you get paid faster.

    Being able to automate the send of customer statements is high on our product teams radar, however we want to be transparent that this isn't planned in the short term. As we continue to develop and uplift throughout the Sales experience this is definitely an area the team will draw closer attention to, however with lots of different projects on the go we aren't able to bring focus to this right now.

  3. The account watchlist widget is great, but it's somewhat useless without the budget for that month and YTD being shown alongside, such that you can get a quick overview of those accounts against expected performance.

    It would be a massive improvement and would be of benefit to many, in my opinion!

    Perhaps it could be an option for the widget to show (or not show) comparison to budget?

    Thanks for your interest in the idea here. Being one of the ideas raised by community in our previous Feature request site I'm pleased to share that this is something that is now available in Xero. 


    From the Account Watchlist on your organisation's dashboard you'll have an option to 'Show budgets' 🙂

  4. When entering multiple contacts, it would be good to have the option to "save and create new contact" as well as the "Cancel" and "Save and Close" option after entering the information. Currently you have to press Save and Close, go back to Contacts, then select New Contact.

  5. When an expense is raised, supplier gst tax rate should override the expense item tax rate. If the supplier coded gst free purchases, then expense items should default to gst free, not the default gst tax code of the expense ite.

  6. Please change the new invoicing so when we copy the invoice, the previous contact automatically appears as default

    Hi everyone, we've introduced a change to new invoicing so you now have the ability to copy an invoice to a draft invoice and keep the existing contact. 🙂

    When you select this option, you'll see a pop up where the current contact is selected by default, however you can choose another contact or leave this blank if you'd prefer.

    Appreciate the feedback for the General Ledger Summary report, Kala. 

    I wanted to confirm it is possible to reorder columns within the General Ledger Details report (like my image below). Is there a specific reason you'd like this in the summary too, or does this possibly meet the needs you're after? 

  8. Adding Client's (Supplier) tax registration number column to Account Transactions report and Income/Expense by Contact report. Helpful with filing INTRASTAT, VIES & 46G.

  10. I was recently asked by a client how create a formatted PDF list of their contacts in Xero with addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses etc.

    They had been asked for this by their factoring provider.

    I know they can select all contacts and use the option at the top of the screen to export, but that creates a csv file which obviously doesn't have any formatting and runs the risk of it being opened in Excel which then messes up phone numbers etc (we are in the UK where phone numbers start 0 and Excel 'helpfully' removes this when opening…

    Thanks for the extra detail, Ross and apologies I never rounded back on this here. While we also don't have plans for creating a report that includes all the detail from a contacts record atm I've slightly adjusted the title of your idea here and we'll continue to track interest in this here. If any plans are made down the line I'll be sure to let you know on the idea here.

  11. Instead of having to scroll through the account transactions / bank statements to get to the bottom in order to change the page number you are on. Either having this bar at the top as well or also having this bar move wiht you so you can always change the page as needed.

  12. You can only allocate payment on accounts to a customer ledger on Xero by clicking 'Overpayment' which is very long winded. Please can this be simplified to select the customer and then allocate straight as a 'payment on account' and then this can be allocated to the invoice once this is uploaded.

    In addition, if there is money out that gets contra'd against money received from a client, there is no way of coding this to the customer ledger.

  13. When creating new 'spend money' transactions during bank reconciliation, allow the tax setting to match the tax setting in financial settings, if set to tax exclusive, so that it doesn't just default to tax inclusive.

  14. Under the previous Contact view, there was a book icon to show if there was an attachment to a bill. Now there is an icon to allow copy bill to draft bill. I can't imagine any time I would use this, but value being able to see if a bill has an attachment. I have to open the bill now to find if there is an attachment or go back to the Purchases section and create a report there.

  15. I am not happy with the treatment of dishonoured/reversed payments on Xero when it comes to debtors/customers (and similarly creditors/suppliers) (see attached support screenshot).

    Dishonoured payments must be processed via the accounts receivable and payable channels as is the custom on any other accounting package.

    The customer's records and statements must reflect when payments were dishonoured (true refection) and it should not be handled outside of the customer's module as Xero is currently doing (by deleting the original payment from the customer and allocating it a GL account and then allocating the dishonoured reversal to the same GL …

  16. Can we please have the bank reconciliation reports default to show decimal places. I've never seen a bank rec that rounds off the decimals until Xero introduced it.

    Earlier this year we rolled out a change to the Bank Reconciliation report, it now defaults to including decimal places. This can be changed by deselecting 'Decimals' from the 'More' menu. I've attached a screenshot as an example 😊

    Prior to the recent update to quotes, the default sales settings inputted onto a contact would carry across to the product rows on the quotes.
    i.e you could set the default department and category for a customer which would auto-populate when you entered a product / tabbed across the product line whilst inputting the information.
    Do you think this functionality could be restored?

    The ability to tab across has actually been removed too, could this be re-added to? Or if there's an alternative key to press that would work too.

    Purpose: to save sales people time when inputting large…

    Hi everyone, sorry we've not updated this idea sooner. With feedback and smaller iterations to the new experience for Quotes our team have made a change so that contact defaults saved within a contacts record will flow though to a new Quote once the Contact has been selected. 

    Once you select a contact within your Quote you should see a small pop up at the bottom of the screen to indicate that these have been applied - Like the example I've attached

    Not a capture all but maybe a step in the right direction for now that could help, Maureen - Smart Lists could help you get a view of the customers that you've not sold items to recently. 

    You could run a New Smart List to view Any customers who have Not Purchased Any items In the last year - Find out more on Smart lists here
