  1. Add the ability to Xero / Xero Me for multiple time sheet entries per day.
    For staff who work across multiple sites having the ability to add multiple time entries per day and either select a client to associate those entries against, or add a note for each time sheet entry would be fantastic.
    Ultimately you would allow up to 6 time entries per day.

    Example

    Monday
    Time Entry1= 8:00 - 11:30am (note= site 1)
    Time Entry2= 12:00 - 3:30pm (note= site 2)
    Time Entry3= 3:30pm - 5:00pm (note = site 3)

  2. We would like to see customers contact person's name appearing on the invoice we send. One customer can have different people/contacts for different projects/invoices. Currently we can only pull out the PRIMARY contact's name to the invoice, which means if we would like to add a different name, we have to REMERMBER to edit customer's primary contact to a different person. It is very time consuming and easy to forget too.

  3. For scanned receipts containing a QR code, it would be very useful if the system could automatically read the code and populate it into a "Notes" field or the Invoice Reference field. This would streamline data entry and reduce manual work.

  5. Overtime needs to be recorded on Timesheets and be included in pay runs for employees on a fixed annual salary.

    We've been using Xero for 5+ years. It's brilliant in so many ways, and this basic functionality is missing, or rather, I expect is poorly coded.

    We have a number of employees on a fixed, 5 day per week, annual salary, which is divided by 12 to generate their pay every month. However, it's not uncommon for them to work overtime: additional hours here and there and sometimes whole extra days.

  8. Xero currently fails the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This means that people with accessibility needs are locked out of being able to use Xero effectively.

    A quick scroll through shows that Xero fails a number of criteria, such as:
    - 2.1 Keyboard Accessible (for example, on the new bills page, tabbing through the page includes tabbing through the search bar, and when you tab through the date fields this causes today's date to be included as a filter, which cannot be immediately undone using the keyboard without tabbing through to another field)

  9. To be able to add an end date to a repeating invoice which is before the "next invoice date". Often clients do not receive notice that a repeating invoice will not be due until after the latest invoice has been sent. They don't want to delete the repeat invoice so they can see a history of previous repeats. Currently can't set an end date that is before the "next posting date".

  10. When a client emails bills into Xero files, they often include a note saying APPROVED or POST TO DIRECT COSTS and even- PLEASE PAY TOMORROW. At the moment I have to open the email, take a copy, email it back into Xero files and then attach that to the bill along with the original bill. Can a copy of the email be automatically attached to the bill when it is processed from files? It would save a lot of time.

  11. The repsonse to my support case was to be told to post the bug here... seems a weird request, but sure...
    "The best way to get our product team to consider this would be to create a new product Idea on this, which is submitted to our product team who then go ahead and make changed based in priority."

    The santander batch file does not follow the santander format. In the past Santander used to accept the file anyway but they have now started rejecting it.

  12. Recently half of the emails I thought I had sent were 'unable to be sent'. I had no idea until I became worried why my usually reliable clients had not paid me on time. After looking I saw this message on the 'History' trail.

    My suggestion is that where an error occurs like this there is a significant error message signal e.g. a box comes up or things are highlighted in red and bold.

    Cashflow is the lifeblood of any business and if the system is unable to send an invoice this could have serious ramifications for Xero…

  13. Nowadays everyone include a credit card surcharge when paying a bill. However when the bill is recorded originally, it is without the surcharge. When applying payment to the bill, if we are in the bill screen and we apply an amount higher than the original invoice it records as an overpayment and creates a credit note. There should be an option like in the bank rec screen where it allows us to type in the surcharge so that the surcharge takes the same character as the original invoice.   14. I had a situation recently where we increased an employees salary but they wanted to reduce their working hours by 80%. The salary is based on 1 FTE. There is no way to actually do this in Xero Payroll. If I put the FTE salary in (to recognise the actual approved salary increase) and set working hours to 8 hours a day 4 days per week the 1 FTE salary is paid out in full over the year. But it should only be 80% of that. So I had to enter 80% of FTE and reduce the actual work hours…

  15. The Trust - Annual Accounts Xero SPFR template for trusts > Notes to the Financial Statements > 1. Reporting Entity states "Legal or Trading Name is a trust established by a trust deed dated [insert field: trust deed date], and subject to the Trustees Act 1956." this is incorrect as the Trusts Act 2019 passed on 30 July 2019 has replaced the Trustee Act 1956.   16. When emailing a sales invoice which has a credit note applied, the basic email template text should quote the amount owed MINUS the amount of the credit note. The email is incorrect with regard to the amount owed, and customers often erroneously overpay.

  17. We have spent a significant amount of time creating our financial statement templates using the report codes to ensure consistency and quality. Using Edit Layout can cause significant issues, including notes not matching the numbers in the balance sheet. As a result, we require the ability to remove access to the Edit Layout function for selected users.
    This is a significant quality and risk issue.

It would be great to see an option of being able to highlight in red or yellow a particular line on your sales invoice for the client to specifically take note of, because at the moment when I add a note for clients to see I write it in capitals but it still gets ignored. Whereas if it was highlighted they may take more notice of it.

  19. It would also be incredibly helpful to have the ability to search quotes by product or service item. Many businesses need to quickly reference past quotes for specific products, and not having this functionality creates extra manual work.

    This could be implemented in two ways:
    • Adding quotes to the product history so that the product record shows all related bills, invoices, and quotes, or
    • Enhancing the quote search bar to allow searching by product number or item code.

    Either option would significantly improve efficiency for product-based businesses.

  20. Customers often ask for a copy of an older invoice that's been paid. When either resending or downloading it, Xero creates a new PDF that shows the invoice as paid with a 0.00 balance.

    I should be able to send an exact copy of the original that clearly states it is a copy. In fact, HMRC states that a request for another copy of a VAT invoice SHOULD be as per the original and state that it's a duplicate.
