AU Payroll - Support for prorated salary
I had a situation recently where we increased an employees salary but they wanted to reduce their working hours by 80%. The salary is based on 1 FTE. There is no way to actually do this in Xero Payroll. If I put the FTE salary in (to recognise the actual approved salary increase) and set working hours to 8 hours a day 4 days per week the 1 FTE salary is paid out in full over the year. But it should only be 80% of that. So I had to enter 80% of FTE and reduce the actual work hours but now it looks like it was a salary reduction which is not the case.
We need to be able to pro-rate salary in Xero, properly, rather than just leaving a note.

Sales invoices - Option to turn off prompt for allocating available credit
When we create a bilk of invoices we are stuck with Xero trying each time to allocate an existing Credit Note that will possibly never be allocated. How do we disable this annoying function?

Invoices - Add billable expenses to invoices to part-paid invoices
I would like a feature added so that we can add a billable expense to an Invoice even though a payment has been made by customer. It is crazy that you have to delete a deposit from a client so that you can then add a billable expense to the invoice for tracking. Customers pay a deposit then goods are ordered for their job.

Project Invoice - List Time Entries in Chronological Order
Listing Time Entries in Chronological Order in Invoicing for Projects.
As raised in support case CX0012531595 - I use projects to create invoices for clients and show time entries for all tasks - the problem is that the draft invoice seems to put all the entries in random order rather than a date order - there is no way to sort by date so that it reads chronologically for the client. Interestingly you can run a report to list entries by date, so that functionality exists in the platform but it needs to be brought into invoicing. I have seen others raise this issue in the forums.

AU Payroll | Lock ABN in Organisation settings once STP filed
I would like Xero to automatically lock the ABN on a client's file after the first STP event has been lodged. This will prevent clients changing the ABN when they change the entity's structure and reporting STP incorrectly across two ABNs. Undoing this mess is a nightmare.
33 votesThanks for your feedback so far, everyone.
We're currently looking at ways we could help fix double counting for issues at the ATO that have been made due to changes made to an organisation's ABN/Branch number and it'd be great to get input and further feedback from some of you here to help us understand and solve these issues.📝If you're interested in participating in this research and would be available to connect (this week) on 24th or 25th November 2022 - Please click through and complete this short survey. Thanks 🙂

UK Payroll - Produce employment intermediary reports
It would be great if Xero produce Intermediary reports that can be uploaded direct to HMRC for agent workers from Zero.

VAT return -Side navigation or contents pages
VAT Return - transactions by VAT Box
Hi our company VAT return is currently over 400 pages long. Reviewing it is not easy when you have the box 1 figure on page one. I then scroll to about page 65 to get to the box 4 numbers after scrolling past it 2 or 3 times.
It would be amazing if there was a navigation panel to one side that I could click and it would take me to the page of the vat return relevant to the box number I want to review.4 votes -
UK Payroll - Include opted-out employees in PAPDIS pension file
PAPDIS Pension reports for submission should include ALL employees not just those who have not opted out as the pension provider (creative) I submit to need all the information as they do the pension assessment on everyone every month. I have to manually edit the csv downloaded every month which can lead to mistakes.

AU Payroll - Show Termination Reason in draft pay runs
Termination reason.
Can we please have the termination reason to show in the payslip in the pay run so it can be reviewed without having to post the pay run and go in to the employees settings to check.2 votes -
Invoice/Bils: Importing - Use Contact Account Number instead of ContactName
When importing invoices and bills, to have the option to import using the Account Number where specified, instead of the Contact Name to avoid the issue of creating duplicate contact records where the name does not match exactly in Xero.

User Access - Restrict Invoice only role to Customer list
There is a role setup for Invoices Only (Purchases). This is useful if you want to have a User process Accounts Payable Invoices, but without providing access to Sales Invoices.
However, if you login with this role, you can see 'All Contacts' as well as the list of all 'Customers' and the billing amounts outstanding. Surely this is inappropriate if the role is for Invoices Only (Purchases)?
The suggestion is that a user with the role 'Invoices Only (Purchases) can see Supplier contacts, but cannot view Customer contacts (which is really what most people would expect if this role is chosen).

Report Templates - Report codes for general reports (Non financials)
Make Xero report codes for use in generic Xero reports (instead of just bookkeepers reports only) - e.g. P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.

Sales overview - View payment method in invoice list
Add payment method to the main screen
If a Payment Method was on the main Invoice Awaiting Payment screen, maybe next the sent icon this would make things so much easier, you can also see clearly who is on Direct Debit.
Thanks

Xero Central support - Allow Admin staff to view all xero support cases for their organisation
I use other apps where, if staff submit a case request, I can view it automatically without the need of manual sharing (that xero does).
Its important that admin staff can view all xero case support messages that is submitted by staff - especially if the staff isn't going to stay with our firm.
Its very frustrating to continue on with a xero support case that only exist on a work email of a staff that no longer works for us.

Bills - Record delivery notes for goods received, and attach to bills
We are a retail business. 15 companies and 65 shops across Australia. We currently have 285 different suppliers from whom we buy multiple items without creating purchase order as we order them on phone or online portal. We have Xero just to maintain supplier payments only.
Now, many suppliers send us periodic invoices means one invoice for multiple deliveries.
therefore, if we can enter delivery dockets header data only in bills to pay section just for records purpose we can track deliveries and assign them to Invoice once it arrives just like credit notes.
So we would know that we are confirming all deliveries before making payment and all deliveries can be seen any time we open Invoice in Xero just like all credit notes from suppliers.
This makes back tracking very easy with Xero without maintaining separate excel file for Delivery dockets.
In Business section we should have Delivery Dockets along with other options, as delivery dockets arrives first, so we should be able to enter delivery data for tracking future incoming invoices. i.e. Supplier name/Delivery Docket No/Delivery date/Description/Location.
Once invoice arrives we can assign all delivery dockets to any specific invoice just for our record for future reference just like credit notes but without $ amount. We are a retail business. 15 companies and 65 shops across Australia. GoCardless in Xero: Expand direct debit auto-match
I have used both the old & new GoCardless/Xero integrations. I thought the old one was great from an automation perspective if you were able to automate contact creation and this would automatically match the direct debit with the contact.
Unfortunately, the new integration is quite restricted and an auto-match will only be done if the DD mandate is created directly from an invoice in Xero. This makes things very difficult from a scalability perspective and makes the new GoCardless/Xero integration unworkable. I've worked some businesses who have 30+ new customers a week and, once the migration from the old integration ends, this new integration will no longer be feasible for them. This would mean either moving payment processor or moving accounting system.

UK Payroll - Holiday balance on final payslip
When an employee leaves, it would be really useful for Xero to calculate how much leave they have left or have over used and then calculate and add/deduct the value from the final payslip. Currently, I have had to do the calculations manually, and then I add to add the holiday to the payslip and change his departure date to cover the leave period - a bit of a messy fudge.

Invoice / Batch Deposit: Export Bank File
Export a file that collates all invoices for each contact, to be uploaded to your bank to run customer direct debits. The same as you can do for bill payments. We currently use UCollect for $360pa, if anyone has any other ideas for this simple task -while Xero is working on building it ;) ...I'd love to hear them, TIA.

Reporting | Copy custom report - Editing Shortcut
When selecting a published report to copy for the next period, it would be ideal if there was a copy and edit option in the shortcut options. This would allow users to create a copy of the report from the main menu instead of being required to open the report and then selecting the option.
