  1. We need to be able search for items which have no account or account code allocated to them in error. There is no way to search for 'unallocated Accounts' under account transactions.

    Hi Charlotte, appreciate your idea however need a but more information to categorise and share with the right team. Is there a type of document you're looking for this information in? For example sales invoices, or bills?

  2. On the contacts page you can see the bills and the value, it will either appear with the value in the paid column or the due column unless it has been allocated against a credit. Any allocated credit notes and the invoices they have been allocated to appear as £0.00 in the paid and due column. Now as we have to allocate the credits in order to include them in a bulk payment (a completely pointless time consuming exercise still not addressed by XERO! but lets not get side tracked by another basic function missing) the fact the values are…

  3. Contact Cash Activity Report that shows all contacts and can show both individual transactions or a summary (total).

  4. Allow an option for the Account Watchlist to show figures on a cash basis.

  6. Ability to view notes added within the contact details section from the list view.

  7. Xero has the facility to look up UK addresses by postcode when entering new contacts etc.

    Unfortunately it usually makes a such a mess of the address, I end up editing it all again anyway!

    • UK Postcode lookups can return a Company Name (e.g. if there are multiple companies registered at the same address.) Xero adds this company name again to the address. In our case, that is a duplicate of the Contact name, so we take that out to avoid it appearing twice.

    • UK Postal counties are obsolete and should no longer be used in postal addresses. Royal Mail…

  8. Currently when you want to add a contact to a group and you have a entire list of different groups, you can not search for the group you are looking for, you have to scroll through your list. It is very frustrating not being able to search for the group.

  9. I wish to see if invoices are paid on unpaid when pulling account transaction reports.

    Accounting - Account Transaction Report - Columns - (add if we can see if bill/invoice paid or unpaid)

    There is no way currently when pulling this report to see if the bills are paid or not.

    Apologies for not seeing your response here sooner, Jayden. Thanks for sharing that image. I do hope you've got your answer already but to confirm for anyone viewing here - That screenshot appears to be the Account Transactions report. 

    To view paid or unpaid invoices or bills you'll want to run the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail reports. This is a slightly different report to what you're looking at and can be found in the Payables and Receivables section of the reports centre.

    It would be great if we could get reminders for customers and suppliers birthdays, this is great for customer relations. Also a reminder for certain documents that might expire at a certain time.

  11. HubDoc should generate multiple line items from a document to assigning to different accounts in Xero. For example - itemised invoices from a supplier could have line items that pertain to different accounts. Currently, multiple line items have to be created manually which takes a lot of time.

    I'd recommend raising a case with our team at Xero Support to dive into more of the details of documents you're having trouble publishing with multiple lines at present, Nick and Elaine. 

    Viewing Hubdoc support this is something you should be able to set up from within Hubdoc. 

  12. New NZ GST return - brings up the GST return for the wrong entity.
    This is not a new idea, but a critical flaw in the new GST return that needs to be addressed right away. I have gone to support and they confirm that it is a Xero issue. "Currently, the Product Team have confirmed it’s not possible to work on multiple GST returns across multiple browsers using the new GST return."   13. Manual Journals - Ability to to set Tax Defaults in Financial Settings like you can for sales and purchases. This will enable the user to set it to Tax inclusive and every time a new journal is created it will be tax inclusive instead of no tax.

    Thanks for the added feedback, James - Connecting with our Xero tax UK team on this I want to be upfront that there's no plans to develop for your idea here.

    To explain the rationale here - As you'll understand, tax codes are used with the aim that people pay the correct tax on their employment income and do not underpay or overpay, so that a tax return or repayment claim forms do not need to be completed.

    Tax codes are only used against PAYE sources. The actual personal allowance is to be used in the self assessment calculations.

    • Personal allowance is reduced in the calculation if someone earns above £100k or they transfer their marriage allowance.
    • If a person receives the marriage allowance, then this is provided as a tax reducer at the bottom of the calculation as per legislation.

  15. It would be great to make the tax rate (and account code) mandatory when creating quotes. This is a fail safe way of ensuring the gst is correct on quotes.

    Appreciate different businesses operate differently when setting up and approving deals. Some businesses specifically leave off detail from quotes for their own circumstance too. 

    Imagine this'd need to be an optional org setting, and not something we have plans for right now but we'll get a sense of the interest here. 

  16. In the bank feed, recognise transactions that cover a supplier or customers total balance, or multiple bills/invoices paid together rather than only suggesting matches for 1 invoice/bill.

Where funds span multiple financial years it would be good to be able to add a brought forward fund balance (balance sheet item) the the P&L fund report (income & expenditure for charities where tracking categories are used for the funds) so that the charity has full visibility of the fund available - last FY brought forward + net amount for this FY = total fund till available

  18. Include account code as a field on all Project Reports to filter/summarise/group by.

    Currently, all 'expenses' are clumped together under one project item type.

    To manage a project properly, it is important to see the costs for individual elements such as 'labour' 'materials' 'travel expenses' sub-contractor costs' etc (or however account codes are set for the business'

    In the Construction Industry especially we always refer to other projects when pricing up for similar ones, and in Xero there is no way to see this breakdown. This was possible in Sage

When merging contacts, you start typing the name of a contact you'd like the currently open contact merged into, and a list of similarly named contacts appears (including the contact you're getting rid of by merging it). I'd like to be able to open each of these in another tab from this list, so I can look and see which one I actually want.

    Similarly to the CTRL-click, from the list view you can use the mouse by using the left click + scroll button together to open a contact in a separate tab.

    That said, appreciate if you're in a contacts record, this does mean opening another tab to search from the main contacts list.

    To be honest, we don't have any immediate plans for developing the merge within a contact. It's something we'll continue to track here though, and I'll update if there's any progress to share.
