Invoices - Option to download invoices by VAT report
We have dealt with a few VAT inspections recently and HMRC request all invoices in relation to the VAT report. We have had to download each invoice individually and rename to match the references posted on Xero which has been extremely time consuming. It would be great if all invoices could be downloaded in bulk as per each VAT report and each invoice referenced to match the VAT report.

Projects - Ability to add Task Title then seperate line for task description
When I add a Task to a project I would like to add a Task Title trhen have a seperate section to Describe the task detail. At the moment there is insufficient space for this information.

Lock date - Ability to set for a future date
To lock future dates to avoid invoices being captured in the incorrect month or year. Or to show a warning when the invoice is posted to make the user aware that the invoice is post dated

Invoices: Show ItemName or ItemCode in online invoic
The online invoice sent to customer (not the PDF) and invoice in Xero only show the Item description and not the Item name or Code, this is not right as it means if we add personal details to the item on the invoice it isn't possible to tell what the item is without doubling up the Name in the Item description

AU Payroll - Reset leave accrual on anniversary date
Set up leave so that it automatically tops up at the start of the year with a set amount.
I have an employee that has an arrangement of xhours per years to be used as they wish. At the start of each year this reverts back to the agreed hours. Any hours not taken during the previous year is cleared.9 votes -
Search suggestions - Most recently reconciled transactions
To quickly get to your most recently reconciled transaction/s (to quickly correct errors that you see as you press OK while reconciling), click the search bar and have the most recently reconciled transactions linked there ready to go.

UK Payroll - Multiple workplace pension contribution levels
UK payroll - Have the ability to fully process 2 workplace pension schemes. We have 2 contribution schedules, one basic minimum level, one at higher levels. Sage can process both of these and send the correct contribution amounts to NEST. XERO is unable to do this and requires manual intervention in XERO and at NEST. This is crazy, surely I am not the only one with more than one set of contribution schedules?????

Expenses - Set annual expense limits, with alerts
I want to track certain yearly expenses. I wish to put a limit to the expenses. When they reach the limit,I wish Xero can alert me. Eg Setting a limit on staff benefit per employee as $1,000. Once $1,000 is reached, a message can be sent to me.

Email to Bills: Support for HEIC format
i recently got a new phone and all its photos are saved as HEIC format however everytime i forward this type of image to xero for bill forwarding it fails as xero doesn't recognise the format.
can you please update file formats asap as all newer mobile devices are moving to HEIC as it is a higher quality file and a smaller size overall, and samsung i found out do not offer an auto change of file before forwarding so it will not be easy to convert back to a jpg or png etc. before sending receipts to Xero

Show mandate status and progress: In Sage one of the Customer fields is their mandate status. You can see when the mandate was sent, whether it has been submitted, is being processed, is now active or has been cancelled. These are crucial for us. We are finding it very hard to get even a couple of mandates set up due to the way that first invoices are processed (on their invoice date rather than as soon after as practical). Then we have no way of knowing whether a mandate has been sent or is being responded to. It's guesswork. In Sage this was so much easier.

Banking | Manual import - Option to reverse Credits and Debits columns
A common problem importing bank files is the reversal of Debits and Credits. This is especially common with Credit Cards.
The "fix" that Xero recommend is to modify the file with a spreadsheet editor. This is only possible with CSV files and is error prone.
A setting to reverse credits and debits when importing bank files would be immensely useful when your credit card provider statement has it's debits and credits reversed.
Or maybe allow a bank to be treated as a Liability?

It would be good to be able to see the bank account details (BSB and Account number) on the new bill screen when entering invoices to be paid. By having the contacts bank details on the entry screen you can easily check that the bank details in Xero match what is on the invoice. This would save time of having to go and open the contact to check that the details match - not to mention save time of having to download the invoice so you can view it while checking against the contact. Being able to look at the contact bank details on the entry screen would save time, ensure you are paying the correct details and identify changes needed.

Reporting - Ability to toggle GST on/off in a report
If you're searching transactions, it's time consuming to match against reports if they're gst exclusive. Could we have a button to toggle gst on or off in each report?

With the Payable and Receivables Invoice Summary and Detail reports there are options to show (ex) and (inc) in different columns, we also provide options to show Net, GST and Gross amounts separately.

Global Pay Run - Ability to include company logo on payslip
Please allow the option to put the company's logo on the payslip.

- Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run.
This also means that we will not be making any more updates to our Global Pay Run product, and I'll move this idea to Not planned.
Between now and 23 July, as mentioned in my last post the best option here would be to use a pre printed letterhead to print company payslips.

Products and services - View 4 decimal places
The old Xero version of Products and Services was really useful, as would show individual pieces costs to 4 decimal places.
The new version only shows 2 decimal places - we would really like to be able to see the 4 decimal places again!The old version was also more user friendly, as you could 'tab' shortcut from one section to another when making adjustments. The new version you need to use your mouse and select everything which takes much longer.
Would you be able to update this?

Projects: Update inventory when a tracked inventory item is added as an expense
Update inventory when it is posted as an expense to a project as this makes more sense as clients use the project reports to calculate WIP and it is annoying to have to constantly check which inventory figures have been applied and deduct this from the inventory. It also means when projects are billed this actually reduced the stock figure as this only happens when you invoice the project for the tasks and expenses whereas currently invoicing using the project amount does not update the inventory.

Files - Create bill in new tab
Would it be possible to create a bill from within the files tab, into a new tab. When you click create bill from within the file tab, it allows you to create the bill but once you click save, it just shows you the created bill. You then have to go back to the files tab and re-find the next file you want to create as a bill. Would be much easier if you could right click and create the bill within a new tab, so that the file tab stays open at all times.

Projects, should show full description of Bills & Invoice details, and include partial payments & credits allocated to the Bill or invoices in Projects..
