Bills - Flagging or colour coding Bills in Drafts
Create a way of flagging or colour coding draft bills to pay. When you have some that are on hold for one reason or another and some that aren't due until a lot later in the year, rather than looking at them in drafts repeatedly if they were flagged or colour coded we could easily see to ignore them. Much like when bills are overdue in the 'Awaiting Payment' tab and coloured red. Would just be a nice option to be able to change manually in Drafts.

Hybrid or Modified Cash Basis Reporting
Most of our clients (and I imagine many small businesses in the U.S.) use a hybrid reporting basis. Basically, short term assets and liabilities are recorded using the cash basis while long term assets and liabilities are recorded using the accrual basis.
Therefore, for example, this will result in sales being recorded when cash received but depreciation and amortization expense are recorded monthly. This method of reporting also results in the accounting basis being more similar to tax basis.Xero actually has a webpage describing this (https://www.xero.com/us/guides/cash-vs-accrual-accounting) but states "And if you run a hybrid accounting system, smart software will allow you to switch between cash basis and accrual basis whenever you need." I alternatively suggest that smart software will actually allow you to produce hybrid accounting reports.
Xero currently has two Accounting Bases: Accrual and Cash. Xero should have a third alternative of Hybrid (Modified Cash Basis).

Quote - Send an order confirmation to customer
Order book:
Ability to confirm to a customer that their quote has been accepted & processed as an order. It is either in the process of being made, or waiting in a queue of work to be done.
As the business manager I can look at my order book on a daily basis to see which orders are outstanding and in what priority they should be completed.
Deposits can be assigned to an order, the customer can receive a confirmation that their deposit has been received. This only needs to become an Invoice once the work is ready to be dispatched and full payment is legitimately demanded or the credit term is commenced.
Is this service available on Xero ?
Regards David Richardson

Bills - Record GST and employer deductions as bills and pay as batches
Where the business uses Xero for GST and payroll, it would be great to be able to create a bill off a finalised GST return or finalised payrun. To have the bill included in the payables automatically would ensure the bill is captured.
It would also be great to be able to pay GST and employer deductions with a batch file from Xero, just as we can with other bills. This would remove the need for manual loading of the payments in the bank and ensure the matching of the payment in Xero was a full circle to the finalised returns and the subsequent bill.Where the business uses Xero for GST and payroll, it would be great to be able to create a bill off a finalised GST return or finalised payrun. Bill | Payment fields - Allow price pasting with commas and dollar $ signs
On bills awaiting payment and payment batches having a way to copy the amount that is not formatted so that it can be pasted directly into bank payment amount fields. At the moment the value is formatted with commas "1,200" which cannot be copied directly to a bank payment page.

Aged Payable Overhead Report
Aged Payables Overheads Report. Allow filtering by cost code.
1 voteWhen you say filtering by 'cost code' - would this be an account or tracking category you've set up n the organisation, Kaytie?
If you can also share some detail of what you'll use the report for specifically this'll help when sharing back with our product teams. It's good for them to understand how a particular type of report or setup could help a business.

Dashboard Graphs - able to extract them to add to reports
To be able to export the graphs from the dashboard into excel or PDF, the same as you can reports from the reports page. There are no graphs that I can extract and those on the dashboard would be useful in adding to reports I send to board members who are not on Xero.

Reconciliation - Create Bill instead of Spend Money
It would be very useful to be able to generate a Bill when Reconciling, instead of just being able to "Spend Money". This would allow much better tracking of transactions, since money leaving an account via Spent Money is far less visible than when a Bill is paid.
Specifically:
When PayPal is enabled as a Payment Method, and a customer pays their Invoice this way, the associated PayPal account shows two entries in the Bank Feed ready for Reconciliation:
1) A transaction fee is deducted from the PayPal account.
2) The full amount of the payment into the PayPal account.During Reconciliation, Xero will helpfully automatically match the transaction fee line with a "Spend Money" option, allowing single-click Reconciliation of this item.
However, if you do so, there is no record of it in the Payable Invoices Report, because it has never been entered as a Bill. Listing all "Spent Money" transactions is possible on a Bank Account by Bank Account basis, but I need things like bank service charge fees to be listed as bills under the name of the Bank - PayPal in this case - in the same way as my other bills from other suppliers are listed in the Payable Invoices Report.
I've searched as far as I can for a similar feature request, but did not find anything. I wonder, therefore, if I'm the only person in the world who needs this, or if my search powers have been affected by kryptonite today.

Appreciate your example of where this could create efficiency and we'll get an idea of the support in this here. 🙂
In the meantime, depending on your type of sales you may find an integration in our App Store that could serve by automatically creating the transactions in Xero.

AU Payroll - EOFY Report for Contractor Payments
A Simple EOFY Report for Contractor Payments - to include Income Payg and Super + contractors details + email (for mail merge) all in one report
I see Xero are in the process of updating reports... Im yet to see an upgrade on contractor reporting, between XERO and the ATO, im sure these clever people can come up with something more efficient. I finally have got Recipient created tax invoices flowing (still could be better if POs worked as well as Bills do in XERO - another idea here) EOFY reports to Contractors and the ATO is very time consuming, first pulling the info from XERO - alot of filtering then adding contractor emails in manually to mail merge and send to the contractor, then having to hand write all contractor details (who paid PAYG) again onto a form from the dark ages for the ATO. XERO and the ATO could work together to make it possible to submit this all via XERO.
With over 600 contractors, asking me for a summary at the end of the year is not viable with XERO as it is now, so we only provide them to those who have paid tax.A Simple EOFY Report for Contractor Payments - to include Income Payg and Super + contractors details + email (for mail merge) all in one report

AU Payroll - Reports: Superannuation and hours worked on Payment Summary Details report
Being a start-up company we claim R&D refund as part of our tax return. In order to support R&D activities we need to work out employee remuneration and hours to support our claims. Currently, Xero does not have any R&D reports that we can use. Hence, I am wondering whether the Tech team at Xero can include two fields (Column options) in the existing report "Payment Summary Details".
The fields required are 1) Superannuation 2) Units (worked hours)
Then we can export this report to work on our R&D claims. Thank you

Purchase Orders - Show qty on hand
PURCHASE ORDERS - SHOW THE QTY ON HAND
Cannot understand why a bill will show the qty on hand, but not the purchase order. When creating a purchase order it makes sense that one should be able to see qty on hand on each line item so that you know how much to order.

AU Payroll - Total payment to show on Pay Runs and individual Pay Run screen
Show the Total Payment of a Pay Run, on both the Pay Runs and individual Pay Run screen. As it is, you have to click Payroll > Pay Employees > Pay Run > Employee to see the Total Payment for that specific Pay Run. Far too many clicks to check what the total amount was that was posted to Wages Payable account (and paid from the bank account).

Reporting - Show the statement lines reconciled to each account (income, expenses, assets & liabilities etc)
It would be really helpful if I could produce reports (by various time periods as usual) that list all the bank reconciliations that I have posted to my various accounts that I have created. This is useful for me to check in my book-keeping role to ensure that I have reconciled everything to the correct account, especially before passing everything to my accountant to produce the accounts.
Example:
Does my "Postage & Stationery" account include only postage and stationery bank statement reconciliations?
Does my "Salaries" account include only salary bank statement reconciliations?etc etc
