86 votesHi everyone, thanks for feeding back to us here. Understand the rationale for wanting to be able to apply discounts on bills in Xero, similar to how you can with Sales invoices. This is something our team would like to develop into bills, however there are a few other important pieces of work that need attention first. So, for the time being we'll leave this as Submitted but as soon as there's movement we'll update you of any change through the idea here. Thanks!

NZ Payroll - Ability to Delete bank account from employee payment information
Some employees have payment information (bank account), and others do not at a client account. The client does not use the bank account information for the payment to employees, then, this information is not compulsory for the client at the moment.
I found a wrong information of the payment bank account information of an employee and tried to delete it, however, Xero says:

3 votesWe appreciate the interest and rationale in wanting to be able to delete an employee's bank information.
While this may be a function we look to explore in the long-term we want to be upfront that this is not something we've currently got planned.
In the meantime, you can replace the employee bank account details with fake/dummy information instead.

Invoicing - Mandatory contact details
Set a particular contact field (e.g. account number) as a mandatory field, so that an invoice cannot be issued without that field having been added to the customer account.

New Invoicing - Show combined Account Code and Name
On the Edit page
Please can you display the combined chart of accounts account code with the CoA description in the account column as you do on in the classic view, rather than us needing to click on the description that shows in the column, so the account code then also shows.

4 votesThanks for the screenshots and feedback here. We've made a lot of changes to new invoicing since first announcing the retirement of classic invoicing. You'll find you can now view both the Account code and Account Name in the Account column when editing your invoices.

AU Payroll | Leave - Multiple approvers
Would really like the option to have a second layer to approve leave. I am a HR Manager and find it hard when the manager approves leave verbally and I do not get notified until later. I would like to see the option for HR or Finance to get a notification or get the option to approve prior to the manager so we can manage the employee leave status.

Xero Accounting app | Bills - Shortcut to favourite accounts in 'Categorize to an account' menu
My role as a user is to load my credit card receipts into Purchases/Add Bill. On the template screen I would like to be able to have a "favorite's list" when selecting the "Categorise to an account". Also, all my expenses are to the same Department so it would be great if I could set a default, same with "Select tax rate". Thanks!

Contacts | Payments - Direct debit file upload
Want to create a AFI file in Xero to collect payments directly from my client's via direct debit.
10 votesHi 👋 you can set up direct debit payment services with GoCardless which enables more seamless payment collection from your customers.
Being rather security conscious we don't have any plans for enabling export of this sort of information from Xero any time in the near future and you may want to explore other options like the GoCardless integration for now.
We'll keep an eye on the interest for this here.

Contacts - Select categories of emails to receive
In the settings for Included in emails be able to specify which emails. For instance you have two people who receive and approve quotes. You don't want to send quotes to the account that processes invoices. The account that processes invoices only wants invoices and the people who approved the quotes don't necessarily want to be copied in on the invoices.
I imagine this would be a tick bock for Quote, Invoice, Credit, Purchase order, Bill, next to each include in setting.2 votes -

Contacts - display unpaid invoice on top only under client/contact
Ability: Xero only displaying the unpaid invoice up top under client/contact ----- same as former Xero version - PLEASE change this back it was perfect and it is very much not userfriendly now
Purpose: quick overview of the account i.e. which invoices are unpaid and what was communicated last
Current issue: with the new changes all client invoices are displayed on top, this clutters the view and is useless information, the old invoice (old and paid) don't need to be visible on top. The current invoice status is important i.e. what is not paid. It is clutter to display all…

Contact | View recent invoices/bills - set default date range
The longer I use Xero the more supplier invoices it stores.
When I use the recent bills report it takes so long to go back to the beginning 2015 in my case before it allows you to put in a date search.
It would be great if we could have a function to archive old supplier and customer invoices- not losing them altogether but just in the background to be viewed if needed.5 votes -
Inventory - Add multiple suppliers for same product
When adding products from suppliers, it would be great to be able to add multiple suppliers details on one product (to save having the same item listed multiple times with each individual suppliers codes/costs etc). For example Supplier 1: Coca Cola Cans, Code: 1234 Cost: £12.99, Supplier 2: Coca Cola Cans, Code: A1244, Cost: £19.50. Rather have Coca Cola saved twice had sections within that product for multiple suppliers.

Contacts - View recent invoices > report to be filtered by contact
When you go into a customer and click View recent invoices report, currently it shows a list of all their previous invoices, which is clear and easy to read. When you click on the new report version it shows a list of approved sent and paid invoices for all customers, but only for the current month. This is totally useless as you then have to filter it to the customer, and change the date back far enough to show all the invoices. Can you please change this so it is the same as the old report.

Contacts - View accepted Quotes
When you view a contact, you are able to see outstanding invoices and quotations from this contact. But it will be helpful to see quotations that have been accepted by this contact to make invoicing easier.

View attached files from account transactions
It would be great if we could add a "files" column to account transactions to view attached files without the need to drill into each separate transaction. This feature is already available in VAT returns.

New Invoices - New Contact search address by postcode
As the new invoicing is no longer optional. I believe this issue must be addressed for all customers in the United Kingdom.
When adding a new contact upon invoice creation, allow us to search for the address via postcode like we used to. This could be achieved by postcode search ABOVE Billing Address, then auto-populate the billing address based on the input post code.
Note there were many issues with the search results which must also be addressed (See: https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/46289185-contacts-improve-uk-postcode-lookup)
OR alternatively allow us to simply input the full address as one line and YOU automatically digest…

display bank account numbers
Bills to Pay. When paying bills when the contact information populates the bill template the bank account for that contact should also be displayed. This would save the annoying and time consuming business of having to look up a contact in a seperate tab when they have 'please note new bank account' on their invoice which they often leave on for nine months or more and you can't remember if you have already changed it or not.
