  1. Could Xero start looking at a drop down box on the allowance to have one as Not Reportable (alongside the other catagories eg. Meals, Tools, Car), and to have it out for STP reporting? or another checkbox down the bottom along with the withholding tax, super, and W1 questions?
    Instead of going through the long winding process of creating an ordinary earning, remove as deduction and do a reimbursement as per https://central.xero.com/s/article/Process-special-pay-items-like-living-away-from-home-allowance

  3. Hello. Keen to have the Auto reply email address that is used for invoices to also be used for payslips. I use a different email to log in to Xero than the one I want staff to reply to.

  4. A tool in Xero to calculate the cost of a shift change for employees using the award that is set up in Xero. This would greatly assist in understanding the financial impact of such a change.

  5. When payrun is done in Xero, the payroll payment file will be automatically sent to the bank (without authorisation). This could save the time of exporting payment files and import payment files to the bank.

    Hi Sung Tak, appreciate you raising this with us however we want to be upfront that we don't have any plans around this. This process requires user input as a means of validation. If automated it could cause issues when making corrections to pay runs, or if a pay run was accidentally posted.

  6. I'd like the ability to delete a super fund from an Employee's Employment tab where they originally had two super funds operating in parallel, and then closed one of their accounts. Currently the obsolete super fund can not be deleted, and can only be updated, which means you end up with two of the same super funds in the employment tab.

  7. Please fix the Schedule 5 PAYG calculation to include YTD commissions and bonuses as well as ordinary earnings. This is causing issues with tax not calculating automatically because the employee's only form of income is from commissions (real estate industry) and they are forced to report it under commissions for STP Phase 2 yet the calculation things they have $0 YTD earnings.

  8. It would be great if we could copy timesheet tracking each week. We have a client that has extensive tracking for timesheets - with some employees having time tracked to a number of different tracking codes. It would be a huge timesaver to be able to save the tracking for each employee so we do not need to enter it each payrun.

  9. The witholding variation should be on top of the existing PAYG calculation not overrides it, as it currently does. If an employee completes a MyGov employee Tax Form and notes they want an additional % amount variation withheld - it should be on top of their existing PAYG tax, not instead of it. There is no other option to put in a percentage amount in XERO.

    Or allow the upward variation amount to be a percentage amount - not just a fixed amount.

    The screenshot attached shows this employee should be paying tax on the full amount (no threshold claimed)…

  10. We pay our employees under the Electrical award which includes several compulsory 'All Purpose' allowances that are now reported separately as per STP2. Why are these allowances excluded from an employee's annual salary on their payslip? They used to be included as part of their base hourly rate - therefore included in their annual salary and as such, should still be included in 'annual salary'. Can you please have the option to 'include in annual salary' when setting up Allowance categories in the pay items?

  11. Hi, It would be great if payslips line items match the 'pay template' pay items or alternatively, for pay items that have a YTD amount to be shown on all payslips (with the Nil or $amount for the current pay period as applicable with the YTD) to breakdown 'Other Previous Earnings'.
    This will also assist tracking multiple pay items where it can vary each pay cycle, coding and tracking STP rates and categories, YE finalisation and review. Many thanks.

  12. If an employer pays irregular wages, there is not option in the calendar or the employee card.
    It would be great to assign irregular pay runs to the employee card.

  14. This will allow for easy review of an employee's age alongside their current payrate and adjustment post birthday. Currently, I run two reports, Employee Contact Details and Employee Remuneration Report, export to excel and merge to allow cross reference of all information. The remuneration Report would also benefit from having all wage categories to select if needed, ie: Saturday Rate, Sunday Rate, Public Holiday Rate etc. Negating the need to access each employee pay template to check correct rates have been set up.

  15. It would be excellent if employees could add the time used in a project to their timesheet via Xero Me.

    They have the assign project/s showing in their timesheet where they can add the hours used on it.

    For example:
    Monday
    Ordinary hours- Idea court project: 4.5h
    Ordinary hours- Flower street project: 3h

    Tuesday
    Ordinary hours- Idea court project: 7.5h

    Wednesday
    Ordinary hours- Flower street project: 5h
    Ordinary hours- Cloud avenue project 2.5h

    And so on. Then of there is overtime they could add that as same way then the ordinary hours.

    I know the second option is Payroll Activity Details report. However, when I download this report in excel, the Pay item type is under the employee column i.e not separated.

  17. Could we have the ability to add the amount paid to a Deduction.

    (A staff member messaged me the other day asking if the $450 showing on his pay slip was the amount he had left to pay for tools deductions or the amount he had paid. After checking I saw it was the amount he had paid and he has $468.93 left to pay.)

    Q: Is there any way to add the amount he has left to pay for tools to the pay slip.

  18. Ability to change our PAYG Withholding period to weekly. Only options are None, Monthly or Quarterly. The ATO requires we lodge and pay PAYGW weekly now and this is not possible in Xero. We have to change our PAYGW period to None so that it does not show on the BAS and manually calculate, lodge and pay this weekly.

    Hello everyone, we appreciate you engaging with us about this topic. To clarify, we acknowledge support in this idea has arisen from a new requirement from the ATO that means large orgs that withhold over $1M annually to submit PAYGW weekly via STP.

    While we appreciate why you'd like to automate this flow of information from Payroll to BAS within Xero there are two current options;

    • Within Payroll settings you could untick “Reportable as W1 on Activity Statement” so your payroll data is not included in BAS, or
    • Manually remove the W1 and W2 figures from your Activity Statement to lodge activity statements for clients that are submitting weekly PAYGW.

    This idea is on our product teams radar, however we want to be upfront that at this stage we don't have any plans for developing an automation of these fields.

  19. Could you please consider adding the feature of adding and processing auto superannuation payments from each finalised payrun (eg button next to "File" that would prefil the contributions in the payrun and further to authorisation). A number of clients are asking for a payday super feature, and adding this feature directly from the payrun will minimise the number of "clicks" and processing time. This also would be a hot topic if moving to compulsory payday super.
