  1. The contacts screen has the financial details Bank account i.e Bank account name, BSB code e.g. 123-456, Bank account number e.g. 1234567890.

    However these are not fields on the invoice.

  2. Ability to set reminders/notifications to raise next invoice in Xero Projects

    When raising the quote, which details the scheduled dates that the customer will be invoiced, it would be useful if you could set a reminder/notification on the project to tell you when to prepare and send the next invoice out.

  3. Invoice - Ability to move "Pay Now" button to custom part of email body.

    Currently as first part of email, "PAY NOW £***" is displayed in the message preview in quite a confronting manner. Ability to move it to any part of the email body would make our organisation seem friendlier.

  4. I often collect cash payments that I then create invoices for, rather than having to click on Approve then click on Add payment, it would be great to have the option to Approve and add payment in one click.

  5. If you send an Invoice per mail to a client, a credit note that is linked to the invoice should be attached to the mail with the invoice too.
    Currently, you have to send two separate mails.
    If you send an invoice, you have several check boxes like "add invoice as pdf". There should be the option "add credit not as pdf".

  6. Scenario - Multiple projects open. If materials are purchased at eg a builders merchants for mutliple projects on one invoice/receipt, it's not possible to allocate the spend to individual projects which is madness. It seems that the total invoice/receipt must be assigned to ONE particular project. When materials are bought, it's often far cheaper to buy them in bulk, hence buying for more than one project at the same time. It should be possible to therefore assign individual lines on the invoice to a particular project (a bit like tracking).

    Hi Clare, if you're adding an expense from within a project, it's expected that the expense you're creating is related to the Project you're in. You could create a Bill within the Bills to pay area where you can assign individual lines of your bill to different Projects. 

  7. Aged Payables Summary - Invoices already paid showing + Print size

    The old version report is far much easier and correct than this new one.
    Old version would automatically show you invoices due for payment minus those already paid.

    This new version of the summary shows all invoices regardless if they have already been paid.

    The print is also smaller, need a magnifying glass to see.

    I've tried running the report in the aged payable details, time consuming entering all filters and hiding columns to basically print the summary that the old version automatically gives you.

    Hi team, a coupe of steps to set up and you'll be able to get what you're asking here - Run the Aged Payables Detail report, selecting the Date range for 'Ageing periods' and 'Invoice date' for 'Ageing by' before Updating the report.

    Once it's set if you save as custom you'll find you can get to this view quite easily when you need, and if it's a view you'll run often save it as a favourite to make it easily selectable from the Accounting drop down menu. 

  8. Can a way be setup to do Invoicing for Drop-Ship items where we do not need to add inventory, but it is automatically calculated when invoiced to Track how many drop-shipments are being sent in a month and track the difference between the vendor price and customer price. Having to manually add to inventory is a lot of work.

  9. When you export invoices, it gives you multiple lines for any invoice which has more than one line. It is therefore not possible to easily total up the amounts due because some invoices are on there multiple times meaning the values are overstated.

    Hi Stewart, is there a way you see the export being more helpful for you. For example would you be looking for a summary of each invoice? The Receivable Summary and Detail reports maybe useful for this sort of view and can be exported.

  10. There is currently no option to print a packing slip from repeating invoices options.
    We need to be able to print a packing slip at the start of a hire before any invoice has been raised.

  11. At present, new invoicing still requires using the mouse to click the account from a dropdown. This disrupts the efficiency of the process, as it prevents users from completing the task solely via keyboard.

    Our ideal workflow is one where we can input all payment information using JUST THE KEYBAORD, without switching back and forth between mouse and keyboard. Previously, we could simply:
    1.Type in the amount
    2.TAB to the date field and input the date
    3.TAB to the account field
    4.Type in the account, then TAB OR ENTER to automatically select
    5.Tab add the payment, and press Enter

  12. Send Statements, Outstanding, Select Date.

    We want to send statements to our clients for invoices that are 30 days overdue - so if I put in the 28th February 2022, Xero brings up a list of all overdue invoices as at that date however some of those invoices have been paid so if I send out the 'Activity Statement' its not a true record of the invoices outstanding.

    I would like Xero to change this so that you can either click on each invoice you want to send out ie the ones that haven't been paid or Xero only shows…

  13. Having the option to show client or supplier on invoices.

    Purpose: Eliminates the need to go to contacts tab each time to look up the phone number to contact the person while going over the invoices. Also for the delivery person to be able to reach the receiver at point of destination or to make an arrangement for receiving as well.

  14. You can now create a contact from an invoice. Great, this was overdue.
    Why stop at only allowing some of the details though? Weird.
    Now I have to go back into the contact and edit it to add Company name etc.
    It's just creating more work when I could have done everything from the one spot.
    Please fix!

    Sorry for not updating you here sooner, team. We've been making a lot of changes within new invoicing. One of these being enabling you to enter more contact details from the new invoicing screen, without having to navigate away.

    You'll find you can now enter the contact name, email, billing address, delivery address, and phone all from the contact card within a new invoice. These details will be reflected without the need to refresh the screen 🙂

  15. Invoice templates should not be in the "settings" but in the actual part where the invoices are, this is product development 101 stuff guys seriously...

    Adding/altering/deleting invoice templates should be accessible right from within the sales overview and invoice section. I shouldn't have to google for this stuff, it's really quite terrible.

  17. Yes that's right. Let's say you pay a subby £150 in advance and allocate that as an overpayment on their account from the bank feed. You then get an invoice from them a couple of weeks later for £500 and deduct CIS of £100 leaving £400 outstanding. You allocate the overpayment from the account of £150 and pay your subby the balance of £250. The system will only declare CIS on the £250 element of what you have paid. You have to know an overpayment has been allocated, reverse it and allocate the payment directly to the invoice for it…

When sending invoices from Xero to Xero it doesn't attach the actual invoice in the draft bill as an attached so we don't have this invoice for record keeping purposes and can't even see if there's VAT or No VAT charged on the invoice as it is not attached to the bill. This needs to be added.

    Thank you for all sharing how we could keep improving your use of Xero and it's features. For those that haven't explored yet - we recommend considering if eInvoicing can serve your needs in this space. It's available now and incorporates even more functionality than Xero to Xero offers.

    As we're developing new invoicing, our product team are looking at development to build the Xero to Xero network into new invoicing as well as considering enhancing it's functionality by allowing customers to include attachments when using this feature to send invoices. Right now we'll move to Under review and I'll be back when there's more news on this to share with you all.

  19. I would like to have clients phone numbers included when saving a CSV Export of Invoices. This feature is unavailable, though all other client data such as name, address and email gets exported.

    I need to be able to track my clients 6 monthly and 12 monthly and send them SMS and this is the easiest way to access invoice dates and client data in a CSV file.

    I find it very strange the phone data column was not included and hasn't been requested until now.

    I've tried the existing integrations with Shopify and Xero and the only partially viable option available has many problems. We're using this for our website https://discountoffice.co.nz. We've given up on automation between the two platforms and now manually invoicing at the end of the day which consumes a lot of our time. Do you have any plans to develop an official app to integrate the two platforms?
