  1. Please can we have the option in Regular earnings to have pay items that can be setup with day units and not hours so taht it shows on payslip as number of days x rate.

  2. It would be great if Zip could be categorised correctly as a "Buy Now, Pay Later" service, rather than "Credit Card" payment service. This would allow us to integrate it with xero invoices along with Stripe for example. Currently they come up in the same category so we can only choose one. Maybe it's time to add a buy now, pay later category for after pay etc as well.

  3. NZ Payroll - update minimum wage increases automatically

    There are other payroll system they do this, and with the minimum wage requirements changing every year, there should be an automatic update or prompt to change anyone who is affected by this, to avoid the error in not paying out correctly as per the legislation,

  5. Bills to Pay UI - Visual Hierarchy

    the new update of the 'bills to pay' screen is great and has some very useful new QOL features but i think the current layout is quite difficult to read and should contain a similar visual hierarchy that the old style had.

    i have found myself focusing intently and trying to figure out where i am up to which could easily be fixed by a graphic designer adjusting fonts, weighting and alignment.

    Hi community, thanks for sharing your feedback in the idea here. Since first raised, we have made some improvement to the Bills to pay page including the ability to quick view and edit bills on the fly from the list, a duplicates review feature and the ability to directly upload to create draft bills in your organisation.

    Taking some of the more recent development into play it'd be good to hear if there are still particular aspects of this page that you feel could be improved.

  6. On the invoice template there is a lot of 'white space', particularly to the right of the Product Description, which frequently wraps to a second line. The Product Item code also wraps to a second line on occasions. The Quantity, Unit Price, Discount and VAT columns could be reduced in width to allow for the increase in Item and Description fields.

    Hi community, thanks for your feedback here. While we won't be providing the ability to manually adjust column widths our product team recently released a new line item grid that with other improvements, optimises the padding, text size and column width so it is more compact and you can see more detail without the need to scroll. 

    All fields will also now wrap, so you'll be able to see all information of your account, tax rate and tracking without having to click into the field.

  7. Under the new STP Phase 2 screens there is no-longer options on the 'Tax' tab to select Working Holiday Maker, rather just 'Australian resident' and 'Foreign resident'.

    I understand on the 'Employment' tab you now need to make this selection, however, I've already had many users reach out confused thinking they need to select 'Foreign Resident' now.

    My suggestion is to do one of the following:

    1. Add Working Holiday Maker as an option and have it link back to the Employment tab if selected.

    2. Add a text note in the 'Tax' tab section explaining the requirement to return…

    Hi Kielan, thanks for the idea. While we appreciate your feedback for where to select Working holiday maker, we want to be upfront that we don't have direct plans for making these changes in the foreseeable future.


    As you’ve mentioned there is a placement to accomplish what you're asking here by selecting Working holiday maker in the employment tab under Income type.

  8. Please can you send the name of the 'leave approver' to Finlerts LeaveCal integrated app. We get leave approval email notifications via their Xero add on and it would be really helpful to know the name of the person that approved a staff members leave application.
    There has been cases of team leaders with leave approval permissions authorising their own leave so this would help us monitor these situations.

  9. Currently Xero is set up to nil off both the Employer NI Expense GL and Liability GL as soon as payroll is run because employers NI contribution is always setoff against HMRC allowances.

    However, it is important to have employers NI contribution cleared only when remittances are made to HMRC and when HMRC send allowances (which is always a month accrued). The allowances are setoff against the employers NI expense GL.

    This treatment will allow the accountant to respond to remittances made to HMRC in terms of employers NI and allowances received from HMRC accordingly.

    Hi everyone, coming back to this idea I'm pleased to share that with functionality we delivered last year this is now possible!

    You can now set up an employee's leave policy to accrue based on a custom date of your choosing, so their entitlements will be accurate and accrue based on your companies leave year. We have more detail on setting up an employees leave entitlements on Xero Central.

  13. Hiding Voided Pay Run from showing on the Main Pay Run Page.

    It will be great to have a functionality that allows you hide payruns that have been voided from showing on the main payrun list.

    When approved payruns cannot be edited, the only option is to void and create a new one. If a functionality can allow editing approved pay run, then there will be no need. But now, we need to have a function to hide the voided payruns.

    Hi team, we appreciate your feedback and sharing how this idea could benefit your business. However, as you may have received recently communication of - We’re making some changes to Global Pay Run to help you manage your payroll more effectively;

    - From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date. 

    - Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run. 

    This means that we don't have any plans for further development of our Global Pay Run product, and will move any ideas related to this on the site to Not planned.

  14. We use multiple Statement templates, each of them containing different stages of Credit Control progress. When sending these the Contact Notes are only updated with 'Statement', and not the Statement template name that would give historical context to a Contact on how we have progressed debt.
    Can you update the Notes to include the Statement Template name, and include an option to make further notes against that activity?

  15. Actual vs Accrued Leave on Payslips
    A report to support this leave
    Employees are submitting leave as per there payslips and have no knowledge that this is not actual leave. They may not have been with our company 12 months or it's accured leave which only becomes actual on their anniversary. We are finding some of our employees with negative leave balances, which causes both confusion and problems on them leaving.

  18. Account Transactions Report

    It doesn't make sense that you can separately select the 'Contact' column and the 'Description' column, but that the 'Contact' details show in the 'Description' column.

    It feels like the 'Description' column in the Account Transactions report is wrongly pointing to the 'Contact' data!

    If the 'Description' detail is not available in the Account Transactions report, this column should be withdrawn from the options available for selection.

    It would be great to get this issue fixed.

    Thank you for your engagement on this idea. To help explain a little on how this works in the Account Transactions(AT) report - what shows in the Description field when running the report is dependent on the type of account you're running the report for.

    For example, when running the AT report for a bank account, transactions will show the Contact name in the Description field. This is because the detail that is entered on each description line in the body of a transaction relates to the account the line item is coded to. 

    To see the detail, you'll need to run the report for the account code, not the bank account. This is also how the report works for some other accounts such as the system sales tax account, Account Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
