Fixed Assets: Auto Calculate the Depreciation Rate from the Effective Life
At the moment Xero doesn't auto calculate the depreciation rate from the effective life. This means when we run the depreciation report the rate column shows up as blank if we've entered the effective life into the asset register rather than the rate. We should be able to enter the effective life and Xero auto calculates the depreciation rate for the depreciation report.
2 votesThanks for sharing your needs for Fixed Assets, here. While we appreciate it could be confusing to see a blank percentage in the rate column, we want to upfront that this isn't something we have plans of implementing in the near term.
As you may already be across if this is something you do need to track, the best option right now would be to export the Depreciation Schedule report and make adjustments as required outside of Xero in Excel or Google sheets. I know this isn't the ideal solution and if any change is planned we'll let you know here.

New invoicing - Ability to set a default BCC email
Is there a way to edit the email template when invoicing to add a standard email address in the BCC field? by doing this Trustpilot gets the email details to send out reviews?? i cant find an option for this feature
obviously you would put your unique Trustpilot email address into the the BCC template field
2 votesHi Andrew, there's no way to set a default BCC email when sending from Xero atm. It may be something we look at in the future. For now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest for this here. Thanks

Online Invoice - Turn off CSV option
Be able to remove the csv file option when viewing invoices online. I have a template set up which gives a detailed description but only a total price as I do not want customers to see the individual prices. However if they view online and download the CSV they can see this detail. It only seems to happen when emailed to Gmail accounts as we don't include the invoice link in the email. I now have to put in 0's for each line item and manually enter the total amount.

Invoice Templates - Automatically update bank account details
Payment information on invoices updates automatically from information held in the payment services section of Xero. Except, using the .DOCX templates, they don't update automatically your business's bank account details.
Scenario - you accept invoice payments direct to your business bank account. Those details are included in the invoice template. You change your bank account details. You have to update each and every invoice template you have to show the new bank account details. However, if you change your Stripe payment information for example, that information is automatically updated in your templates. Why the different treatment?
The different treatment of these types of payment information increases the chances of failing to correctly update your bank account details on all of your invoice templates. For example, you could forget to update a template or you could make a typo on one of them.
Your business's bank account details should be entered in one place, and one place only (just like the other payment services) to reduce the likelihood of errors and to allow automatic updating of that information when it changes. Treat business bank account details the same way you treat other payment services.

AU Payroll - Show Annual leave in the General Ledger
We need to be able to account for annual leave transactions in the general ledger but Xero does not currently facilitate this. Is there any chance that an update will be done which will allow this? I know that this has already been raised but it is baffling as to why a basic payroll/GL integration is lacking.

New Invoicing - 'Upload Files' and 'Add from file library' options switched
New Invoicing has switched the position of Add from file library and Upload files. Whilst this may seem a small change, users are familiar with the order from left to right and I personally keep clicking the wrong one. Changing this order has no streamlining purpose so can it please be changed back?

AU Payroll - Superannuation Payment Reporting - Column for Paid on time and Paid late
Subject: Enhancement Request: Superannuation Payment Reporting
Dear Xero Team,
I am writing to suggest an enhancement that would greatly benefit our operations during tax return preparations. Currently, distinguishing between superannuation contributions paid on time and those paid late is a time-consuming and sometimes confusing process, especially for newcomers. I propose the development of a comprehensive report within Xero that automatically categorizes superannuation payments into 'Paid On Time' and 'Paid Late' based on statutory deadlines. This report should allow users to select specific quarters or custom date ranges, include detailed breakdowns with payment and due dates, and offer export options in various formats (PDF, Excel, etc.).
Implementing this feature will save significant time and reduce errors, enhancing both efficiency and accuracy in managing superannuation payments. The visual indicators and automated categorization will simplify the process, making it user-friendly for both experienced accountants and newcomers. This enhancement aligns with Xero's commitment to providing powerful, user-friendly accounting solutions and will ensure compliance with tax regulations while improving the overall user experience.
Thank you for considering this suggestion.

New Invoicing - Show Reply To email address when sending
New Invoicing - Show selected From Email
The old invoicing would show which Email address would be used as the from email when emailing an invoice to a client. This is an important double check to be sure I'm using the correct email address for the particular client. Since this has been removed I now have to remember to check the Email settings in a different tab before sending every invoice, which is very time consuming and is the primary reason I switch back to Classic every time I try the frustrating "New Invoicing" system after suffering through its hard to read product code text (tiny font size in a light grey colour lacking contrast) and lack of visible shipping address double checks, the lack of From Email is the missing feature that is the final straw for me to leave the new system and return to the Classic editor which is so much easier to see and use. See that the easy to use system is being discontinued in September, means it's important to get these missing features built into the new system.

Xero Accounting app - Bill receipt analysis
I normally add a copy(email download or photo) of any bill when loading it to Xero. It is easy to do with emailed bills but lets say a coffee bill, can take a lot of time. (Taking a photo, email it, download it and add it)
It would have been nice taking a photo of the bill through the Xero app to load it as a bill, from your phone.
If a owner operator buy something it would make it easier just going into the app, go into bills, take photo and load it there and then... done. (I am sure it should be possible that it could take all relevant information automatically from the bill into Xero, only leaving an "Approve" option to finalize the loading of the bill or "Save" as draft, if changes needs to be done and you want to do it later. (nothing to file, nothing to remember to do at a later stage)
This seams to be such a logic solution that I am sure there is software already available that I am just not aware of, but then again this will be at extra charges.... :-)I normally add a copy(email download or photo) of any bill when loading it to Xero. Contact - Ability to copy & paste bank account number (accept spaces not just hyphens)
When you try to add a new bank account to a contact, Xero only accepts numbers and hyphens in the field. Spaces are not accepted.
All invoices issued by Xero have the issuer's bank account on the invoice formatted with separating spaces between the number blocks.
So when entering a new contact, I can't just copy-paste the bank account number from the invoice that was created by Xero because the format of such number doesn't comply with the formatting in Xero contact section. Every time it has to be manually edited by all the thousands of Xero users.
It would be very nice if Xero followed the same formatting all the way through.
Can you change to format of bank account numbers on the invoices to hyphenated rather then the current space separated number blocks?

Quotes - Add optional items
IT would be really good to have the capability to add 'optional' items to a single quotation -
- example #1: supplying in quantities of 10, 25 and 50,
- example #2: there are five items in the 'basic quote' but the customer may choose to add items 6,7 and/or 8 but these aren't a fundamental requirement to include.
If there is a quotation tool, then being able to offer customer flexibility is important as issuing multiple quotes can appear unprofessional

Report needs to have matching data for Total Cash In and Out dashboard widget
Need the report linked from dashboard's Total Cash In and Out to MATCH to the data shown on a report.
Right now it opens up a Bank Summary report which includes transfers, but even after removing transfers from the equation, the numbers still do not match up on the cash flow widget. I can't verify the cash flow widget's numbers.
