NZ GST - Late claims report for previous financial year
A GST report that showed the late claims that relate to the prior financial year.

Bank | Reconcile period - Allow copy & paste with '$' symbol
Thanks for adding this feature. I'm trying it and I noticed that if you copy and paste a value with a $ in it, it will not paste properly. Sometimes when you copy paste opening or closing balances from PDF it copies including the dollar sign.
Please allow to paste the value with the $ in it.
Also, there doesnt seem to be any way of deleting a draft period. Please consider adding a small garbage bin icon in the period list and inside the period.

1 voteGreat to hear you're making use of Reconcile period, Alvaro. Taking your comment from the idea here. I've split this into 2 new ideas; one for deleting a draft period, and this one for being able to copy and paste amounts with a $ sign.

Login - Account Settings - Log in to - BUG FIX
Please fix the Account setting for the Log in to preference so that it works as advertised.
Currently the option to log in to "The organisation I was last in" does NOT work as advertised. It will log me in to a seeminly random organisation from the list of my organisations.
I believe that it is logging me into the "Last organisation that ANYONE was in"9 votesHi community, returning back to this idea and connecting with product we've found users in the same situation have often accessed Xero from a saved bookmark.
If you're still running into the same and have saved a bookmarked URL to access Xero we'd recommend removing this, and going to my.xero.com, or login.xero.com to login to Xero.
If the issue persists it's really best for our specialists at Xero Support to investigate further. You can reach them by raising a case through Xero Central.
With issues like this being best looked into with our support team directly we'll close this idea. Please feel free to respond to let others know if the method above helps. Thanks!

NZ Payroll - Show leave balances on payslip in days and hours
Annual leave needs to be able to be shown in days/hours on payslips and not in weeks as it is very hard and confusing for the employees to work out exactly what their leave balances are. It also makes it very confusing when you are trying to work out if they are actually entitled to leave when doing the payroll as their leave could be in the negatives, but the accrued dollars show otherwise

Inventory - Warning of item code duplicate
Item code duplication notification prior to adding all the purchase and sales details or if it is duplicated make it editable while entering invoices without having to go out and into the inventory tab.

NZ Payroll - Record sick leave as days
We need sick leave to be recorded in days to line up with current NZ payroll legislation. 10 days sick leave. The current settings in hours only work for people who work the same hours on the same days. Anyone with variable hours or different hours on different days this does not work and manual accrual needs to be kept outside of payroll. Then leave balances need to be manually adjusted which is a lot of work. This has been an issue for many many years and would be good to get fixed.
11 votesHey team, as some may have seen we've been doing lots of work in the NZ Payroll space. For those just getting started with Xero (from 5 August 2024) sick leave will now be recorded in days, and can set up the Sick leave entitlement date.
We appreciate many in the idea here have been using Xero for a while and we want to confirm this is something we're working on for our existing customers as well, however there are more intricacies to work through from what already exists to the new. We'll round back to confirm with more detail and to let you know when this is being released for everyone. Thanks

AU Payroll - Create a new timesheet for deleted timesheet period
Once a timesheet has been deleted for a given pay period by an employee, both the employee and the payroll administrator should be able to create a new timesheet for this same period.
We have had instances where the employee has accidently deleted their timesheet after it was declined by payroll administrator (instead of fixing it), and once deleted there is no ability for either employee or payroll administrator to create another timesheet for this period (I submitted a support request to Xero and they confirmed this).

Xero Accounting app | Tablet users - Screen Rotate
I have the a tablet and use a cover with a keyboard, it would be so much easier to use the app if the screen didn't default to portrait mode and activating the screen keyboard. Please allow the Xero app to rotate to landscape so that I can use the cover keyboard.

Projects - Lock staff pay rates
The ability to 'lock in' previous periods pay rates in Projects. Currently, when uploading any pay rate changes per member of staff, this cascades back to all hours worked on projects which skews figures.

Unassigned account Code
We need to be able search for items which have no account or account code allocated to them in error. There is no way to search for 'unallocated Accounts' under account transactions.

Xero Projects - Edit Default Work Week
Ability to change the default work week for entering and viewing time entries in Projects.
Purpose: Allows us to easily view employees time in the work week that we use for an outside Payroll.

Inventory - Allow changing of an item's Inventory Asset Account
For tracked inventory items, there's no way to change the inventory asset account which can be inconvenient. As the inventory grows, they are put under new different classifications so I want to add a new inventory asset account for each. However, I cannot change it in the item's inventory asset account when it is already tracked. It would be very helpful if this will be allowed. Or at least a way to delete a tracked item if there's no transactions/bills, but only adjustments.

Bank Feed | Chase - support for Certificate of Deposit (CD) accounts
As a bookkeeper, I want Xero to support bank feeds for my company’s Certificate of Deposit (CD) savings accounts. My financial institution (Chase) sends data on my CDs to the Xero feed, however, Xero ignores the CD accounts in feed. CDs are supported by other FinTech companies with similar feeds, and should be a low effort feature for Xero to implement.

UK Payroll - Add pay element nominal codes to employees records rather than at Company level
As we don't have the ability to turn off automatic posting of payroll, can you add nominal codes for ER NI & ER Pension, other analysis fields to employees records rather than at Company level to allow easier analysis and posting of payroll journal.
There is a field on the employee record to enter the nominal code for their wages cost so why can't there be more fields for different codes?4 votes -
Practice Manager | Costs - Drop down for standard costs
When entering a cost create a dropdown selection menu of standard costs that are setup in settings. Current system requires a prompt to type in the correct cost to appear and fill out preset cost and charge figures.
Also include a drop down to select staff member entering the cost. This would be a time saver for mileage and expense claims so you could filter a disbursement report quickly and submit to save double working.

AU Payroll - Set default leave types (paid out/not paid out)
Currently, when you assign a leave type to a new employee, for all leave types other than annual leave and personal leave you have to go into that leave type on the employee card and manually change the leave settings to what should be the default for all employees. For example, RDOs should always be paid out on cessation of employment, but the default setting is "not paid out", and I cannot change the default setting, only each individual's settings.
I should be able to set what the default settings are, to reduce the likelihood of stuffing it up.

Invoice - Send void invoice email
A feature that allows an email to be sent for a voided invoice to the client so they have confirmation the invoice is voided as verification.
This can be as simple as taking the invoice template / previously generated pdf and branding "VOIDED" or "CANCELLED" on top of it.1 vote -
Bank Reconciliation - Links to bills to pay on reconciliation page
I feel on the bank Reconciliation page, there should be links to both "Invoices owed to you" and "Bills you need to pay" I feel this would make navigation quicker and simplify the reconciling process.

Quotes - Feature for customer to select which items to accept
It would be great if when a customer receives a quote, it were possible for them to select which items they wanted from the quote and to deselect the ones they didn't want.

Notifications - Make audible alerts optional
Please make audible alerts to "messages", tips, etc optional.
I wear earphones and work across multiple devices and it is quite irritating to hear "bloop" when working across multiple tabs.We don't need more vapid sounds in our lives!
