Chart of accounts - Option to exclude account from cash basis reports
Choose your cash basis accounts - After coming to the forum becuase I haven't found a way to remove non-cash accounts from cash basis reports I saw a bunch of people asking for depreciation to be ADDED to the reports. So obviously we all want something different. How about each account on the COA has another checkbox (like the "show on dashboard", "enable payments" check boxes) that gives the user the option to EXCLUDE FROM CASH basis REPORTS. I can remove all the deferred revenue, someone else can add in depreciation, and we can all have the cash basis reports we want.
At the very least, cash basis reports should show the user a set of GLs to opt to include or exclude.
The fact is that right now I can't run a cash basis P&L because I use deferred revenue, and that just isn't right.Choose your cash basis accounts - After coming to the forum becuase I haven't found a way to remove non-cash accounts from cash basis reports I saw a bunch of people asking for depreciation to be ADDED to the reports. AU Payroll - Option to allocate employee salary across different departments
Hi Team, Im not sure if this has been raised, but can we get the ability when setting up an employee to be able to allocate a % of their salary costs between different department / cost centres. At this stage we do not have the option of splitting salary costs without having to do manual journals

Balance Sheet - Bank Account assignment with tracking categories
When using Tracking Categories on the balance sheet, we should be able to assign specific bank accounts to specific columns (or tracking categories). it would just be a feature where the balance "as of date" just displays in the column, regardless of all the prior transactions.
Additionally, when paying loans, if a tracking category is assigned for balance sheet tracking purposes using columns, the Bank Balance that is transferred to the note becomes a Liability on the balance sheet. This is crazy. You're essentially reducing the Note liability balance & then increasing it by the same amount as a negative in the bank account. It's not affecting reality.

1 voteIt does sound like you've set up the Balance sheet in a bit of a niche way to track what you're after here, Sal. Appreciate you wanting more flexibility on how you filter tracking and being able to add a secondary filter for bank account.
I want to be open that this isn't something that we have plans for. We'll continue to track interest from your idea here, but would need to see quite a bit of community support to look at making a change for this in the report.

Invoicing: Set invoice reminders by invoice branding template
Ability to turn off invoice reminders based on the invoice branding template.
This would mean we can prevent invoice reminders being sent to customers who have payments scheduled via direct debit.
27 votesThanks for sharing with us here, everyone. We appreciate there are many improvements our customers would like to see to improve their workflows for setting up invoice themes for their customers. We do have a product team that have been focused on improvements to simplify and enhance the look of branding applied to your invoices. Being upfront this doesn't stretch to adding invoice reminders at the branding theme level for the time being.
We're continuing to watch and stay tuned to the ideas we have around this in our community and if there are any changes to share we'll post an update for you all, here.

Email to Bills - Simplify email address
It would be great to be able change the e-mail address where files or bills are sent to Xero to simplify it?
Currently the e-mail address is long and without context and cannot be linked to a specific client outside of Xero in for example Outlook or Gmail.
An "alias" e-mail address would be helpful.

NZ Payroll - Add multiple bank accounts for payroll batch payments
To minimise additional payroll payment processing it would be great to have the ability to pay employees from more than one Company bank account using the Payroll Batch payment functionality i.e Employee 1,2,3,4 gets paid from Bank Account A and Employee 5,6,7,8 gets paid from Bank Account B.

Bank Reconciliation - Allow correction of exchange rate on account transactions
As the Open Banking Credit card transactions with Fx amounts are still being incorrectly imported, allow the transactions to be edited rather than every month having to delete the existing transaction and create a new one.

Bank Reconciliation - Upload receipts from other apps to reconcile with statement lines
The ability to match and upload receipts and invoices stored and analyzed on any number of different apps to simple bank transactions downloaded and categorized in xero based on the exact amount and the relative date only. Do this without the complication of further analysis in xero such as matching or paying bills.
Background and use case: For any business primarily downloading and categorizing expenses from various bank and cc accounts and not using xero to bill customers and create invoices.2 votes -
Invoicing - Ability to bulk update product details within draft invoices

Invoicing - Template invoice including an inventory item
Permanent inventory item on a specific invoice template
For example, we are an automotive repair shop
If I was to have a specific invoice template for 'vehicle servicing' and would like every service invoice to come up with Sundries and Freight automaticallyThis would be a great way to save time as well as making sure everything is being charged out correctly
11 votesHi everyone, thanks for your interest in the idea here. While we don’t have immediate work planned for adding the ability to enable permanent items within an invoice template, as mentioned in my last update an option for now would be to create a 'dummy' contact that you could create invoices for and leave in a draft status. When you want to use that invoice as the template you can then use the copy to option.
On a separate note, our teams are doing some more discovery to better understand our invoicing users and we wanted to engage you all here.
As we continue to plan further developments within invoicing, our product teams would like to better understand our invoicing users for future improvements. If you'd be interested in giving your input, we’d appreciate your feedback and have a survey here ✍️that will just take a few mins to fill in.

Batch payment - Attach files
To attach proof/evidence of multi receipts/payments when that batch is a mix of invoice and also pre/overpayment, credit. We can attach to a single type of action, but not mixed. Keeps things tidy and also much quicker to see what exactly was in a batch, than to go back to a physical document holder

Customer Statements - Totals for each column
It would be useful to look at an activity statement to see how much a certain contact has been invoiced regardless of whether they have paid or not. At present, I can only see outstanding balances.

New invoicing - Change options when printing from 'Cancel' to 'Leave as is'
New Invoicing. I see we got the ability to mark as sent when printing, which is great and fixes one of many defects which made me go back to classic a year ago. But the prompt that appears is bizzare and confusing. Classic always had "mark as sent" or "leave as it is" ... however new has "mark as sent" or "Canel" - which implies cancel the print job - except it doesn't (the x does this)... So on one hand a user if confused by cancel if they want to print without marking as sent, and 2 if they realise there's an error and want to cancel the print job and re-draft the invoice without a file name(1).pdf in the downloads... they push the cancel and get a print job regardless. The pop up buttons in classic were Homer Simpson simple - "Mark as Sent" or "Leave as is" - these should be retained in new invoicing

AU Payroll - Hide Leave Balances on payslip for selected employees
It would be good if you could hide leave balances on individual employee payslips. The hide/show leave balances on payslips is a global setting applying to all employees. For example, employee moved from part time to casual and had leave balances zeroed out, or hiding Long Service leave from employees that are accruing but not yet eligible.

Customise purchase overview page
My company operates from multiple sites. Would like the ability to customise the purchase overview page, so you can filter on the sites

AU Payroll - Allow leave requests to be submitted using just a keyboard
Make creating leave requests functional when using keyboard entry.
Currently, when I want to create a leave request, I:
- go to the top menu, tab across to Payroll and select (4 keystrokes),
- arrow down to Leave and select (4 keystrokes),
- tab through to New Request and select (15 keystrokes),
and then no matter how much I try I cannot get to select either Leave or Cash Out Leave without using the mouse. Then, once I have used the mouse to get the new leave request pop-up, I have to:
- tab to the employee field (3 keystrokes)
- enter some of a name and tab and select a name (variable keystrokes)
- tab to leave type and select to bring up the dropdown (3 keystrokes)
- arrow down and select a leave type (up to 7 keystrokes for some clients)
- tab past employee and leave type to get to the description field (3 keystrokes)
- enter the description (variable keystrokes)
- tab to, enter the start date, and then tab to... the next thing which is apparently cancel?
- tab BACK to enter the end date (2 keystrokes)
- enter the end date and then tab to... the next thing which is apparently still cancel?
- tab BACK to enter the hours of leave
- tab forward past cancel to get to approveIt's a lot of unnecessary keystrokes once you get past the barrier of being unable to get to this essential part of the system without using input methods other than a keyboard (which, in itself fails WCAG 2.2 guideline 2.1.1 - and WCAG 2.2 has been extant for nearly a year). Complete fail on this Accessibility criterion.

Bank Reconciliation - Show cheque number for matching payments
Cheque payments should have the cheque number visible for matching in the bank feed. In the past, Xero cheque numbers were displayed with the payment informatio "suggested match" column of bank recs.
When you have 5+ outstanding cheques for the same amount, it was easy to verify that you were matching the correct one because you could see the cheque number on the bank feed as well as the payment. Now you have to drill down into "find match" and actually open the payment to verify. Very cumbersome.

Payroll | Employees - Upload/attach files in notes section
Ability to attached files to a pay run and employees
958 votesHi community, thanks for the strong support in being able to attach files within Xero Payroll, both for employee records and pay runs. We really appreciate you sharing the value and efficiency this could create for you when working with Xero. It's evident that being able to store important documents like licenses, sick notes, and onboarding papers directly in Xero would remove the need for external storing systems or manual processes.
We acknowledge it's not the end goal but wanted to highlight the use of apps, as some have shared like Dext, to help bridge this gap in the meantime.
I want to assure you that enabling attachments in payroll is part of our long-term intentions. However, to deliver this functionality effectively and reliably, we first need to develop some foundational elements within our payroll platform.
We understand your frustration with the timeline and the limited updates, and we're committed to improving our communication on these important ideas. We’ll be sure to provide further updates work progresses.
Thanks again for your valuable contributions to the Xero community.
