Business Snapshot - Filter by tracking category
It would be good to be able to filter the Business Snapshot by tracking category and show only income/expenses for each Tracking Category on the dashboard e.g by Department/Region/Product etc.

Lock dates - Warning if user enters a date in a prior / locked period
It would be good if there was a warning if an adviser user inadvertently enters a date in a prior accounting period which has been locked. For example year end is 31 Dec 2022 and a current year bill is entered as 17/11/22 instead of 17/11/23

Foreign currency - Change exchange rate behaviour

Multy currency is currently not fully supported in xero.
A foreign currency transaction should be recorded initially at the rate of exchange at the date of the transaction and then, at each subsequent balance sheet date, foreign currency monetary amounts should be reported using the closing rate.
This is true in xero only for Bank accounts, accounts receivables and payables set in foreign currency but not for other account.
As a result users are required to input periodical manual adjustments at each balance sheet date.We ask Xero to take in consideration such issues, to review them and take action now.

Reports - GST late filing adjustments
would be so much easier if the only amounts that show on the GST late file reports are amounts where the GST treatment has ACTUALLY changed. doing something as simple as changing a code in a filed period can create hundreds of pages of "late claim" adjustments but they are just in and out entries..... this also makes it harder to determine which entries have actually changed.

Invoices: Receive a notification when customer has viewed invoice or quote
To receive a notification when customer has opened or read quote or invoice. That way you know they have been received and there is less emphasis on following up.

Invoices - invoice a percentage of a task
Having the ability to invoice a percentage of each task in a project.
Our company invoices as a job progresses e.g 20% of one task is completed the first month, and then 50% has been completed the following month.
At this stage, I am only able to apply a 'discount' to alter the amount invoiced (while still maintaining the full contract amount on the invoice as a reference to clients). When doing this, it also marks that task as invoiced and I am unable to further invoice. The only alternative to this, is invoicing for a project amount and still applying the discount.
This is a very convoluted way to invoice and causes messy reporting.
Is this something we cna look at adopting in XERO projects?Having the ability to invoice a percentage of each task in a project.

Permissions | Ability for Manage users to assign Payroll Admin
If a staff member has Manager User access to a client file this doesn’t allow them to add users to a file with Payroll Admin unless they have Payroll Admin permissions.
It would be good if people are allowed to MANAGE the access without necessarily having themselves.
Can this idea please get implemented as it will avoid adding administrators with Payroll Admin permissions to our large client list when it isn’t required.40 votes -

We'll continue to consider this and other ideas for customer statements as the platform evolves.
Again not a full resolve but another option that could be handy for some is the inclusion of the Outstanding bills link when sending individual invoices to your customers. Through this, persons of a contact will be able to view and get detail of the invoices they have outstanding with you at any given time.

DEAR XERO. CAN YOU PLEASE CHANGE THE GST AUDIT REPORTS SO THAT THEY SHOW THE ACTUAL NARRATION THAT IS ON THE BANK STATEMENT INSTEAD OF THE PAYEE NAME. WHEN RECONCILING TRANSACTIONS XERO ADDS IN A SUGGESTED PAYEE NAME WHICH OFTEN GETS ACCEPTED, OFTEN ITS INCORRECT. THIS IS THE DETAIL WHICH SHOWS ON THE GST AUDIT REPORT. Invoices - Assign billable expenses in bulk
Is would be helpful to be able assign different expenses from one bill to different customers, in one batch. At the moment you have to do it individually and then go back into the assign expenses section to do it again for each assignment, which for a bill that relates to multiple customers takes a lot of time.

If you have multiple invoices for the same client, a feature that allows you the option to automatically apply bank transactions receiving money from the client to the oldest invoices first moving closer to date would be mighty helpful. At the current moment, we have to manually split out each transaction to the invoices when reconciling bank transactions; it stands to reason that if you have a client with multiple invoices and they pay off in chunks, you would want to apply payments to their oldest debt first; having this as a selectable option for a contact / bank rule would be great.

Invoicing - Automatically delete draft invoices when merging invoices
I would love if when we merged Invoices into 1 from drafts it doesn't leave the draft that I need to manually go back and delete. This can cause double ups of Invoicing.

Xero Analytics | Short-Term Cash Flow - Change payment dates from within Short-Term Cashflow Screen
While reviewing the short-term cash flow report, a client may realise that there is a bottleneck and spread out some bill payments by changing the payment dates. It would be great to be able to do this from within the Short-Term Cashflow (on the same screen that the issue is identified) to see the results immediately and the improvement in cash flow.

Purchase Order - Link Purchase Order to Bill
Linking Purchase Order to Bill
Purpose: To copy the details from the po to populate the forwarded bill from email fields.
This would enable the ease of processing bills; using the data already on the po and verifying the costs accordingly.
Also this is vital, so that you can match multiple bills to the same po.
