SUPER NON Regulated Super Fund Set Up - There are many Non Regulated Super funds out there and Xero only provides a list of Regulated Super Fund name to choose/ set up under payroll settings so when an employee has a NON Regulated Super Fund you can not set up or choose in the Employee card. The current work around is to Choose another Super Fund name (fraught with danger) in the Employee card then make manual payments. Making manual payments is not an issue however, choosing another Super fund name that is not correct is not an appropriate work…

  3. Add a function to allocate transactions in an account against each other so you can easily identify which transactions are making up the balance (e.g. in a PAYE you would allocate the payment to HMRC against the payroll journal).

  4. Be able to set an automatic default tax rate when new sales or expense accounts are created. In our country, the sales tax rate changed, and by default when I create a new account, it gives the old tax rate. Unless I change the Default tax rate for this specific new account to the current tax rate, I will be given the old tax rate by default. This has given us accounting problems that are sometimes hard to trace when one doesn't change the tax rate manually each time a new account is created.

    Appreciate the interest shown on the idea here, everyone. Atm, we don't have any plans for adding a specific field for a Contact / Business Registered name. 

    While not a perfect solution as another user has shared, perhaps adding the name to the contact's address field could help surface this detail where required at present. 

    We'll continue to gauge interest in this, and share if there are any updates. 

  6. We want to give access to reporting to one of our managers however we don't want them to be able to view all payroll information. Therefore I am looking for a function that can give access to all of Xero except anything to do with payroll so all nominal codes to do with wages would need to be invisible etc. Journals would another thing that needs to be hidden.

    This is really useful to know, thanks Josh - Though we don't have immediate plans for change around this, we really appreciate you sharing the detail of how you'd see this permissions working best for you. We'll keep an eye across this one here, and let you know if there are any updates.

  7. While our primary business banking account transactions import automatically via a bank feed, the process of importing the transactions from our payment processors/gateways into their respective bank accounts in Xero are manual and add many hours of admin - there is already some integration with these gateways to support payments and this could be extended to include transactions flowing into Xero.

  8. One of the most irritating features when using the Aged Receivables Detail report for Credit Control purposes (downloading to Excel and pasting into an email) is that when selecting the Date Range under Aging periods and the Invoice Date under Aging By, it continuously defaults back to the first option.

    Kindly allow the setting of a default to prevent the system from continuously defaulting back to the system setting.

  9. Currently the "Total Cash In and Out graph" on dashboard shows the total cash received and the total cash spent through all of the bank accounts in Xero. This graph excludes transfers between bank accounts as don't they affect the overall total.

    It would be nice to be able to customize that graph to exclude certain transactions. Ie. if a shareholder loan is made, this would show up as cash in.

  10. When in the contact section and viewing the activity tab, it would be useful to be able to view PDF invoice from that screen rather than click on an invoice and click the attachment tab (similar to the function in bills to pay).

  11. Tracking Categories do not show in Xero Me mobile app when I approve my employees' timesheets. This means I cannot check that they have allocated their time to the correct Tracking Categories, so I have to approve timesheets on the computer making Xero Me useless for Timesheet approvals. Please show Tracking Categories in the Xero Me timesheets app.

    Hi everyone 🤚 thanks for the idea and support. I thought I'd pop in here to share that it can be possible to have your tracking options show in the Xero Me mobile app when approving timesheets. However to do this you'll need to choose the Total hours worked timesheet setting (instead of the Start & end hours option). Appreciate that this may not be suitable in all our customer's workflows, so we'll continue to monitor interest in this idea.

  12. An inventory report - similar to the inventory item summary, but that allows the user to compare figures to prior periods. This will allow retailers and even manufacturers, to easily track seasonal trends in sales.

    I have seen lots of ideas around this same topic but worded slightly differently.

    Essentially, the access rights are far too high level causing users to have access to tasks and rights to delete, approve when they shouldn't

    Appreciate your looking through the forums and existing ideas, Tracy. 

    Although it might seem quite specific it does help to have detail of the specific permission sets and what is missing in the existing roles shared for each idea, and get a sense of the users that are interested in these differing permissions.  

    As you can likely imagine, with the number of features and different roles & responsibilities staff may have across businesses a matrices of options for every single permissions across every feature in Xero would be quite complex and cumbersome when  trying to assign what a user can or can't do in your organisation. 

    While we don't have direct plans for this level of incremental control, our product teams are definitely interested to consider the makeup of permissions within a given area or feature of Xero. I'd urge you and others here to add your support to…

  16. Change decimal places for hours to 4 decimal places instead of 2. When hours are imported from Tanda it shows errors, as Tanda exports to 4 decimal places for more accuracy

    Hi community, returning to share an update on the work we had done here - Though our product team started releasing updates to the notifications we quickly found that this meant some users began receiving a lot more notifications, and we've made the tough decision to switch these back off.

    In time our team would like to create controls so users can set notification preferences. However, this will require considerable work and not something we commit to right now.

    We're going to shift the idea back to Accepted and soon as we can pick this up again I'll make sure to share an update here.

  18. Would like to be able to add a fixed amount deduction as pension contributions. Currently the option is to manually add a pension contribution, but this cannot be submitted direct to NEST, so has to be manually typed into NEST.

  19. We pay our employees under the Electrical award which includes several compulsory 'All Purpose' allowances that are now reported separately as per STP2. When our staff are paid a shift loading, these allowances need to be included in the loading. I have to manually add the allowances into each all purpose loading (which is time consuming)
    Can you please have an option to fix this in the pay items? There are certain allowances that have to be included in overtime, annual leave (which you have an option to include) but you dont have one for shift loading

  20. Prior to the new reports we were able to select different colours for budget variances on our Xero reports. Green for on budget or better than budget and red for below budget.

    This was immensely useful when going through reports in monthly management meetings as it meant over or under performance in any line was easily recognisable.
