  1. Can we get the report pack to automatically update both the footer and compilation report, based on the page range for the statement of accounting policies and notes to the financial statements. We're currently doing this manually and it leaves room for error.

  2. When a report runs over a single page, the header formatting does not pull through to pages 2 forward. It pulls through the report name in small writing at the top of the page and leaves a large spacing at the top of page, as the attached screenshot shows.

This product idea is to fix this bug so that either the report name header formatting pulls through to all pages within the report (preferable), or at least the empty space is removed.

For example with the accounting policies section of the accounts, we would want the data shown in…

  3. Lot of employee are working overtime. Holiday should be paid adding the Holiday Pay Adjustment. This means that overtime, certain allowances and commission plans will be included in the first 20 days of leave taken in any holiday year. To put this simply, you should be no worse off financially by taking your holiday. So if you earn commissions, claim certain allowances or work overtime these will now be considered as part of your holiday pay adjustment payment. Every employer must calculate this manually, and errors may occur during the process. It would be fantastic if a formula could be…

  4. Currently expense reports are not fit for purpose. You can't even order non-approved expenses by date or export them.

You need to be able to order unapproved expenses by date and by project/customer.

You need to be able to add description and project/customer information into the expense claims report.

Xero is **** at expense management frankly and with a few minor changes could be so much better. I should get a refund on my subscription for the wasted time.

Sorry to hear your're not satisfied with Xero Expenses, Jeremy. Appreciate there are a few things that you've noted that you feel could enhance your experience when using expenses.

We do try to keep one idea per thread to make it simple for community to understand what they're adding their support and to help share this back with our product teams. I've adjusted the title of your idea here to reflect exporting expenses. We have an idea for changing the sort order here, and  you're welcome to start new ideas for any other points you've shared too.

  5. Batch download of Validated eInvocie from Malaysia LDHN

This idea is related to eInvoice from Malaysia LHDN, send individual invoice section.

Once sending the email to MyInvois@invoi.ci, and after validated, the e-invoice will be added to file attachment.

There is currently no option to be able to batch download these multiple eInvoice that is validated in the file attachment section.

Please find the attached and reference below for Send individual e-Invoices:

  6. The 'new' format has made it exceptionally tedious to accept payments and send receipts. PLEASE streamline it

    • Put the send receipt link back on the payment confirmation page
    • Allow easy tab/character type to select things
    • Open PDFs in browser with the print feature triggered like every other commerce website does. LESS CLICKS!

    Old Style.

    1) Approve the Invoice
    2) Click into payment section. Tab to select account (assuming current balance and date), tab to Reference to enter Check #, and click Add Payment
    3) Click 'Send Receipt' link to send an email invoice to customer (with additional upsell messaging)
    4)…

HI team, appreciate your feedback here however there are a few ideas in the one. There was a recent change that we've made for the first point here where you'll find confirmation and option to send receipt is now shown once you've added a payment to an invoice.

In relation to printing an invoice - from feedback we received the team have updated this flow so now a PDF of the invoice will be directly downloaded when you click Print, rather than having to go to a separate browser tab. If you'd like this to be a direct action to print from the invoice itself you can follow and join this idea.

In relation to keyboard entry and tabbing through invoice fields, you can use Tab to move to the next field over and Enter will open the field so you can enter data. We have a larger idea

  7. Would really appreciate the ability to export expense claims for an individual employee for a defined period which shows which are billable to a client and those that are not.

Currently the Expense Claim Detail report only shows aged (unpaid) expenses and the Account Transactions Report shows all expenses whether paid, unpaid or submitted, but doesn't differentiate those that are general expenses from those that can be billed to Clients (Customers).

Hard to believe we are the first small business to request this functionality.

  8. I would like to submit a feature request for the Statement of Account (SOA) report. Currently, the SOA allows for downloading the entire account summary for a contact, but it lacks the ability to filter and download specific invoices based on types or any other granular filtering or customization.

For example, in my organization, clients sometimes use multiple revenue streams. Invoices are categorized by these revenue streams. There are instances where my clients only need the SOA for one particular revenue stream.

It would be incredibly helpful if the SOA report could include a filtering option where users can select…

  9. After creating an unscheduled payrun via the Payroll AU API when you get the payrun it returns an array of payslips where the employee id and payrun id do not exist (the only fields returned are FirstName, LastName & UdatedDateUTC). If you then proceed into the xero admin (in the browser) and view the payrun you can then click to include an employee. Returning back to the API if you retrieve the payrun again the employee id and payrun id are then set for that employees payslip entry.

We also tried creating approved timesheets for employees before the unscheduled…

Hey community, thanks heaps for all your interest on this idea so far 😁

Because this one would actually be better suited to our AU Payroll API forum, I'll be closing it off here on Product Ideas.

I'd really encourage you to share it with our developer community though!

Not exactly what you're after here, however in lieu of not having the ability to summarise within a group you could use the column header to order by Contact within a grouping.

Being open, we don't have any plans for developing this capability in the near term.

  12. Show the total amount of Domestic Reverse Charge VAT on an invoice, to make it clear to the customer what is due by them.

It is not necessary to show the VAT amount on each line, when it is the same for the whole invoice.
While Xero may be compliant with HMRC, it is not right for businesses who are being repeatedly asked for this information to be shown on invoices. It would be a simple fix for Xero as the functionality is already in place.

This is on a discussion thread with plenty of users requesting the same thing.

  14. I have multiple clients for whom I perform varying tasks. I log in and work on their accounts with my practice email.

When sending invoices on clients' behalf, or paying bills to clients' suppliers, the copy invoice or remittance advice goes to my practice email as I am the logged in user. The person/company who needs this copy is my client (whose email is the 'reply to').

At present I have to then log into my emails and forward the copies to my clients manually, (as filters get confused) and ensuring it is the correct client if I have been…

  15. It would be nice if the tax rates show separate on the bills when entering them to know it is calculating properly. I understand we can see the tax broken out after we click approve, but it would be handy to see it before. It would also be nice if we could manually adjust the tax amounts.

Hi Bailey, currently when you enter a bill, if there's more than one tax rate, a different tax total is shown for each tax rate underneath the Subtotal.

These totals are automatically updated live as you enter more lines on the bill - there's no need to save or approve the bill to see it.

If you're experiencing different behavior I'd recommend raising this with our specialists at Xero Support who can get a closer look in to see what's going on.

  16. Can the bill or invoice number be added to the description shown when Xero automatically adds it to the short term cash flow. See picture for item added manually where we add the bill number and then item added by Xero where none is shown. This will really help where we have multiple items for the same customer/supplier for the same amount.

  17. When exporting invoices if an invoice has multiple lines in Xero it also appears with multiple lines on the exported Excel.

Can we have some way to collate the invoice lines onto one line on the excel?

Currently when exporting a bulk amount of invoices we have to manually combine lines on the spreadsheet for the same invoice. This can take a lot of time and often lead to mistakes as manual calculation is needed to get the correct invoice amount.

Can you provide more detail of your reason for needing to export invoices from Xero, Balraj?

We don't have any plans for changing the format of the export right now, however it sounds like this is a common action for you, and it'd be good to better understand the use case that we can share with the team.

  18. In the Standard Invoice template - the delivery address currently shows in the middle column, rather than under the name of the business. This is confusing if a business has multiple locations, with one centralised billing address. It means that the centralised billing office can't easily see which location the invoice is for/items were delivered to.
It would be better to show the delivery address under the name of the "To" so it's obvious which location the items were delivered to with the name and the corresponding details of address and contact person.

  19. I normally add a copy(email download or photo) of any bill when loading it to Xero. It is easy to do with emailed bills but lets say a coffee bill, can take a lot of time. (Taking a photo, email it, download it and add it)

It would have been nice taking a photo of the bill through the Xero app to load it as a bill, from your phone.
If a owner operator buy something it would make it easier just going into the app, go into bills, take photo and load it there and then... done. (I am…

  20. Scenario - Multiple projects open. If materials are purchased at eg a builders merchants for mutliple projects on one invoice/receipt, it's not possible to allocate the spend to individual projects which is madness. It seems that the total invoice/receipt must be assigned to ONE particular project. When materials are bought, it's often far cheaper to buy them in bulk, hence buying for more than one project at the same time. It should be possible to therefore assign individual lines on the invoice to a particular project (a bit like tracking).

Hi Clare, if you're adding an expense from within a project, it's expected that the expense you're creating is related to the Project you're in. You could create a Bill within the Bills to pay area where you can assign individual lines of your bill to different Projects.
