  1. Hi Xero Support,

    So basically, I would like to generate P&L by Tracking Category only for those categories which have activity during the month, those which have no activities (zero transaction), I would like to exclude it. So, my reports will be not too long and comprehensive.

  2. The change of reports from the old version to new new version reports. Could the same features be included. The old version of reports are user friendly and had features such as including budget to linked to the department.
    However, the new version does not have this facility without the change in edit layout. Which is time consuming when Xero is all about reducing time producing reports. I would like these as standard reports so more time is spent on analysis of reports.

    Hey community - just a quick update to let you know that this is now live!

    Earlier this this month we rolled out an update to the Budget Variance reports, allowing you to to add and choose which budget you view when running the new reports.

    You're now able to select budgets from the 'budget picker' drop down pictured in my screenshot.

  3. Please can we have the option to drill down a project summary/project financial report to only include submitted/paid invoices and to be able to have the option to exclude draft invoices

    Hey community, thanks to everyone that shared their feedback on this idea! 

    This is now live for all reports, including the Bank Reconciliation reports 🎉 

    You’ll now see a page number when exporting any report to a .pdf.Previously, it was only possible to add page number to Advisor reports. 

    I’ve attached a screenshot with an example of this in action, but for more information, check out our Export and print a report Xero Central article.

Reading through some of the suggestions from clients and they all have a similar background theme - the reporting engine in Xero is decades behind what should a rich and easy to use reporting engine. Unfortunately it just doesn't exist. The back end data is difficult to access and find the correct meta data to even start building something that is remotely useable. There is nothing simple or easy about creating a report in Xero - there are a plethora of BI tools on the market that could partner with Xero to produce quick informative reports that…

    Appreciate the feedback, Alex - However this is quite difficult to consider in terms of the change you'd be looking for our teams to make or develop for. 

    Could you please detail of use cases or scenarios when you're trying to find data pull into a report or which direct fields you're hoping to report on in Xero? Thanks 

  8. Please can you add the ability to stop archived tracking codes appearing on P&L reports just because they had a foreign currency item at some point.
    - Archived tracking codes, with no data in current FY or reporting period appear because years and years ago it had foreign currency trans.
    - The currency L or G are not relevant to the current reporting period. The FY is closed, in some cases years and years ago - there is no need for it to keep appearing.

    Please stop this happening.

Previously, in Xero, you could star/save a report by going to the reports page and either looking for the report in the summary tab and then clicking the star next to the report you were looking for, or by using the search bar in the top right hand corner to find the specific report and then starring/saving it after you had searched for it. Now, when you try to star/save a report after typing something in the search bar, the report will not save.   10. The longer I use Xero the more supplier invoices it stores.
    When I use the recent bills report it takes so long to go back to the beginning 2015 in my case before it allows you to put in a date search.
    It would be great if we could have a function to archive old supplier and customer invoices- not losing them altogether but just in the background to be viewed if needed.

  13. It would be great if we could code annual leave to another account code other than salary and wages. Currently we manually journal these costs to another account in the ledger to separate them. This helps with reporting wages like for like.

  15. I am having some difficulty with "Blank Reports". I designed a small divisional report which included only a small percentage of my P&L accounts. I tried to select a date range which is offered but doesn't work - the only date range that works is the current financial year. If you want to look at last month, last quarter etc - no luck.

    When I brought this to the attention of Xero, their response was that feature isn't available - then why is it a report option. Their suggestion was to modify the P&L format which has date options…

    Can one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice not approved
    Can one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice or draft bill (not approved and therefore not posted into the books of account).

    For example I would like to see what impact certain entries would have on a balance sheet or income statement but dont want to approve them only to see the impact and then subsequently void or reverse them if I am, say unhappy with the outcome ? I…

  18. Search by Employee across all of Payroll reports. We have 110 - 120 staff, currently we have to scroll down to find the right employee, can we have a standards search by employee. ie/ start typing their name and then hit enter

    Hi Belinda, to check in on your idea here are you looking for similar to the Pay History report that allows you to search the employee versus drop down and select as you do in the Leave Transactions report? 

  19. We would like to know which invoices or contacts are not set up to collect payments via Direct Debit from GoCardless, so we can proactively target them to move to Direct Debit. Whilst Xero knows this information, they've confirmed there's no way to report on it and it will be very helpful to have

  20. Xero offers users the ability to select between cash-based accounting and accrual-based accounting for financial reports. However, a major problem is that the inventory sales reports are based only on accrual-based accounting. This means the financial reports and inventory sales reports are never consistent. Please add the ability to run cash-based accounting reports for inventory sales (sales by item, etc.).
